BUG, CRASH, WALLOP This is probably the most buggy, inconsistent piece of software I have had the nightmare of using in over thirty years of computer use. Every time I load the game a different bug with the interface occurs, be it missing icons for important functions to display scrolling that just stops working one day or flys around the screen uncontrollably the next. And when the interface is temporarly behaving I will get CTD every half hour or so, often with corrupted auto saves which means any progress I have managed to make is now void and I have to start over again. I think the furtherst I've ever managed to get is about nine or ten turns. BTW i've had the same issues on Windows 7 and Windows 10. High spec desktop with good graphics (gx970) and 16GB ram and also on a mid-spec laptop. So the problems are not hardware related. I've had similar issues with other AGEOD games, which all crash regulalry and have interface bugs. But this is the worst so far. MY ADVICE - AVOID
The game crashes frequently and saved games become corrupt, so you cannot load after the game crashes. If the game were stable I would recommend it.
I really like the AGEOD's games concept but they all crash many times during the game. The longer you play, the more it crashes. That's a real shame because the games are really good. So I would like to give it a thumbs up if it weren't for the frequent crashes.
I am very interested in historical games and this game has a lot of historic content about the thirty years war so the concept is very interesting and it is a wargame which means you have to learn a lot about the game mechanics which I dont mind cause it is rewarding to learn and understand how to play the game , you have to muster a fair degree of patience and time to learn how to understand the game mechanics but it is a inresting and rewarding experience and if you love deep strategy games like I do this game really delivers a challenging but rewarding experience. The graphics and sound are not topnotch though but the biggest flaw is that you must continually keep saving your progress cause the game keeps crashing and that really angered me : How can you AGEOD release a game that is so buggy and is crashing all the time without fixing it with patches and make your customers pay 27 Euros for such an amateurish made product that is really BAD so now be warned about this game it is running extremely buggy that is why I cant recommend it.
Once again, Ageod completely fumbles the technical side of one of their games thus undermining what could've been a great title on a nearly forgotten conflict. Around four hours of playtime, yet around a dozen crashes. I'm still in the first few months of the Thirty Years' War and already my faith in the game being stable enough technically to make it the first decade is shattered. Click on something you are meant to click on? Crash! Pass the turn? Crash! Do nothing at all and just sit there? Crash! I didn't think it was humanely possible to make something more unstable then Assassins Creed Unity or Watch Dogs, but Ageod proved me wrong. Seriously, is Civil War 2 the only game this developer ever made that wasn't as sturdy as a house built on sand? If you really want to get into the Ageod titles, then pick that one up as there the programmers actually did their job.
Does not work at all, devs have not patched any CTD's in 2 years practically, abandonware. Otherwise the gameplay, is very cool for those who love history. Will change my review if they start applying patches once again to fix game breaking issues. Not worth 27.99e at most under 5e. STAND CLEAR!
Constant crashes prevent from enjoying this cool game.
the negative reviews are real, the game crashes constantly. I could live with this if the save system worked but it also corrupts those, so in other words its completely broken and unplayable. I am not willing to copy files around in the background constantly just to play this. Basically a waste of money, there is a really fun game underneath all these problems but do yourself a favor and go play pike and shot campaign instead
