Doporučuji tuhle hru? Ano. I přesto, že jsem velký fanda Lovecraftovského kosmického hororu, s hraním této hry jsem si dal značně na čas. Značně tomu přispěla kontroverze kauzy vývojář vs. vydavatel a pochyby o stavu hry. Ke hře jsem se tak dostal až s remasterovanou verzí a pěknou slevou. Hrát původní verzi za plnou cenu, asi by hodnocení vypadalo trochu jinak. Co je moc fajn: - Grafika remasterované verze je vážně hezká. - Prostředí přímo dýchá Lovecraftovými tématy a narazíte na mraky odkazů na jeho tvorbu. - Město jako takové má samo o sobě velice silnou mokrou, studenou a zapáchající atmosféru. - Zajímavou mechanikou je "ruční" hledání lokací podle mapy a archivů. - Většina vedlejších misí má alespoň zajímavou zápletku. - Různé typy monster a zbraní, výběr je sice celkem malý, ale funkční. Co pokulhává: - Perky, prakticky žádný z nich není skutečně originální a poskytují jen drobná vylepšení. - Herní doba, tak nanejvýš 30 hodin se všemi vedlejšími misemi. A to je celkem málo. - Cestování lodí je fajn asi tak prvních 5 hodin, pak už tak na nejvýš o dvě ulice dál. A to tomu ještě musí pomáhat, že se loď magicky se přemisťuje. Co se vážně nepovedlo: - Boj na blízko je skutečně poslední možnost a to nejen kvůli kostrbatosti jedné jediné animace. - Mnoho "zajímavých" míst a domů s úkoly si je podobných jako vejce vejci. - Vedlejší mise typu nákupního seznamu. Dojdi sem, sem, sem a sem. Ještě tak ty "válce" kvůli referencím, ale poslední dvě nebo tři takové mise jsem s klidným svědomím nechal nedokončené. - DLC s minimálním obsahem a přínosem doporučuji kupovat jedině v balíčku. Všeho všudy s pěknou slevou doporučitelná malá hra, co si tak trošku hraje na velkou. Pro milovníky H. P. L. ale prakticky skoro nutnost. Pokud byste hledali podobnou hru která zahrnuje dílo tohoto autora, okultismus, detektivní pátrání, dobrý příběh, časové období 40.-60. léta 20. století a trochu té akce, zkuste taky Alone in the Dark.

This games story is really good and has a sense of horror to it. I will say that I felt the story was lacking bosses outside of the one or two of them and the ending was kind of more like choose your destiny. Don't mistake me the ending was very cinematic but it felt as if once you got there all that hard work for a smooth ending felt weird. Story wise though it was fun and even the fighting was intense. I will say that some critters were a real pain especially the big boys that were like bullet sponges. Also remember not to get overwhelmed and always have bullets on hand. Certain weapons are more useful on certain critters than others. Overall though the story was intense and I do look forward to one day play its sequel.
good story and characters , scratched my detective itch but the combat may have been better off as a card battle system if it was going to be that shallow.
Kinda different and interesting setting. It's been remastered and looks better as well. I like it:).
Чудова гра, яка поєднує жанри: детектив, хорор (але більш атмосферою чим жахами), трохи рпг, та все це у сетінгу лавкрафта, мені дуже сподобалось, з нетерпінням чекаю на другу частину 🙂
