Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.

Good game. Makes your brain work.
8\10 The Sinking City WILL scratch your cosmic horror itch! The Good: The storytelling, atmosphere, music, sound design, voice acting, environmental storytelling and Lovecraftian horror vibes (the real reason anybody came to play) are all 10\10 in my book! This alone made my playthrough worth it! The Sinking City feels like what I imagined Lovecraft's world would look like but through a punched up graphic novel where all the themes are turned up to 11, not like the real world with Lovecraft in it and I love that about it. The music and sound design is HEAVILY inspired by Silent Hill and Resident Evil and it works perfectly. Each major character you engage with is wonderfully voice acted and they all sound like they're having a blast hamming it up in the studio! They're complex with tragic and engaging backstories and goals that force you to make decisions that are... less than ideal shall we say. I kept thinking "this dude is EVIL and I KNOW it, if I could JUST find enough evidence to prove it, it would make ____ decision easy for me to make. Not in this game. No easy choices and while some characters are doing decidedly horrible things to achieve their end goals, all of them have somebody they're fighting for. They all believe what they're doing is the only way forward or the best way forward and YOU believe them... unless you don't, and that's the magic, that's the meat of the game really. It's a series of ever increasingly difficult decisions that all culminate to one of a handful of horrible endings. This ain't a bedtime story lol The Bad: The puzzles and combat can get repetitive, especially if you're gunning for all the DLC and side content. Getting caught on invisible obstructions a handful of times was annoying but standing up out of crouch or sprinting fixed it 100% of the time for me. Even on the hardest difficulty, the combat becomes a joke pretty early on. I had only unlocked the shotgun and I had no trouble navigating the "DO NOT ENTER, THERE BE MONSTERS UP IN HERE!!!" sections with ease. You can outrun all of the enemies easily, stand on anything tall and you're safe and once I figured out how broken the bear traps were it was OVER.. Zero fear of death. The Ugly: The Sinking City seems to be trapped between two design philosophies... I feel like Frogwares should have either punched up the combat and done away with the crime noir, detective, analytical stuff and made indie Lovecraft Resident Evil, OR they should have nixed the heavy combat sections and gone all the way with just the puzzle solving and dialog sequences, more in line with what they did with the Sherlock Holmes series they're known for. Oh! one last thing that I hope isn't a spoiler.. they must have ran out of time and funding because MAN that ending is BRIEF!!! Can't wait for The Sinking City 2!!! already wish listed!

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is an excellent sleuth-em-up. Graphics are nice, voices are top notch, and you really feel like a private investigator way out of his depth as he gets sucked into the Mythos. Top stuff. Each investigation takes a few hours, including side-quests of which there are a lot. I found that a mere 1 or 2 of the sidequests were necessary to max out my skill trees so it's pretty much optional which, if any, of the sidequests you tackle - You can stick to the main questline and pretty much max out all your experience, crafting, and relevant combat skills. That's not to say you shouldn't do the optional quests - some of them are excellent and are there to solve issues for NPCs that you kinda come to care about - but you're not forced to and that makes a pleasant change from 'The Grind'. If you like Lovecraft, the Mythos, or sleuth games, this is a good one. Caveat - There's a little bit of pixel-hunting but it's not so bad. Sometimes I sighed in frustration and irritation as I went over the crime scene a third time to find the clue I'd missed, but this wasn't common and the pixel-hunt wasn't overly obnoxious.
I truly love this game for its atmosphere and story, seeing the different factions and beliefs of the characters around me. This game looks amazing and is fun to play especially if you enjoy detective based games. I look forward to playing the second game once it comes out

get on sale, great detective game
The Sinking City stands out among Lovecraft-inspired games by blending a rich, cosmic narrative with solid, if imperfect, gameplay. Developer Frogwares crafts a detailed and atmospheric world filled with eerie, otherworldly elements, offering a fresh yet respectful take on classic Cthulhu mythos. Set in the flooded city of Oakmont, the game excels in environmental storytelling. Its foggy streets, decaying neighborhoods, and waterlogged districts create a haunting backdrop reminiscent of BioShock and Silent Hill. Exploring by boat while something lurks beneath the surface delivers genuine tension. The story pulls heavily from Lovecraft’s works, weaving together references, themes, and characters into a compelling mystery. While the protagonist, a troubled private investigator, is somewhat cliché, the narrative still manages to feel engaging thanks to its intrigue and moral complexity. Supporting characters are well-written and memorable, though immersion suffers from repetitive NPC models and inconsistent world reactions to the surrounding chaos. Gameplay is where The Sinking City stumbles. Combat feels slow and clunky, lacking responsiveness and variety in enemies. Traversal can also become tedious, especially early on without fast travel, as navigating flooded streets and blocked paths slows the pacing. The investigation mechanics are a mixed bag. The “Mind Palace” system is a highlight, allowing players to piece together clues and make meaningful moral decisions. However, the research system is often overly cryptic and frustrating, requiring trial and error rather than intuitive deduction. Despite its flaws, the game’s commitment to atmosphere and storytelling shines through. Its morally gray choices and multiple endings add depth, even if the finale feels somewhat underwhelming. Verdict: The Sinking City offers a compelling Lovecraftian experience driven by strong world-building, a layered mystery, and a distinctive atmosphere. While its narrative ambition and investigative elements make it engaging, the experience is frequently held back by clunky combat, slow traversal, and occasionally frustrating mechanics. Even so, the game succeeds in capturing the unsettling tone of Lovecraft’s work and provides enough intrigue to keep players invested. With more refinement in gameplay systems and pacing, it has the foundation to evolve into something truly exceptional in a future sequel.
