About
The Outer Worlds 2 is the eagerly-awaited sequel to the award-winning first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment (just look at the exciting number of dashes in this sentence!). Time to clear your calendar – get ready for an action-packed adventure with a new crew, new weapons, and new enemies in a new colony! So much newness!
As a daring and most likely good-looking Earth Directorate agent, you must uncover the source of devastating rifts threatening to destroy all of humanity. Your investigation leads to Arcadia, home of skip drive technology, where the fate of the colony, and ultimately the entire galaxy, rests on your decisions—your strengths, your flaws, your crew, and the factions you choose to trust.
The Arcadia colony is engulfed in a factional war, as the Protectorate’s so-called benevolent rule is challenged by the rebellion of their religious order and a corporate invasion. As destructive rifts spread across the colony, each faction fights to control or close them for their own ends. Navigate diverse zones, uncover hidden lore, and shape the fate of a system on the brink!
Build your character with the abilities and choices that reflect your playstyle. The colony reacts to your every move, crafting a narrative that’s yours to own—whether you’re a disciple of diplomacy, an astute strategist, a crusader for chaos, or something different altogether. And yes, you can dumb!
Recruit companions with unique traits, backgrounds and goals. Whether you choose to help them achieve their ambitions or steer them toward your own objectives, your influence shapes their growth (or death), making them an integral part of the immersive story you create together.

NOTE: MY YES IS ONLY A YES IF THE GAME IS ON SALE. DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE FOR THIS. This game is best described as the goyslop of games. It isn't particularly interesting, the story isn't really gripping, and the characters, writing, etc. are all one-dimensional. It feels like AI slop being created before AI slop was invented. If you have NOTHING else to play or do, and you are bored, this is fine, I guess. I squeezed out 35 hrs of gameplay, taking my sweet time. But for the average person, it's not worth it. There are a ton of games out there that are WAAY better for way less. This game's price is honestly a joke. On sale, it's expensive. At 1/3, I'd say it would be reasonable. Anyway, if you're bored and want some goyslop, go right ahead.
The combat is a lot of fun and the world-building is great. Beautiful landscapes to explore and interesting characters abound
Bigger and meatier, feels like a lot more to do than first one(Loved also) and that is without the upcoming DLC. A long time can be had here if you wish to 100% it. I will try..
I'm a fan of most things Obsidian, Black Isle & Private Label and am definitely enjoying this game. I would say it's a solid 8 / 8.5 overall, good storyline but fantastic combat / weapons and the graphics are really awesome. The companion storylines can vary but some of them are quite interesting, and once you start getting further along in the game there's some challenging choices you need to make that impact the end state and make it worth doing another playthrough (probably).
8/10 -1 Too many female commanders -1 Optimization: Drops to 38 FPS on an RTX 5080 in 2K, with a graphics level resembling Borderlands 2 But overall, I recommend this game. It has a good style, good combat, and a great atmosphere. It is very similar to the first part
A very imaginative world with great characters. Fun, exciting and challenging with a sound track that drives you crazy!
Everything a sequel to one of the best games should be, and more. Intuitive layout, amazing graphics
nice
I really wished to like Outer Worlds 2 as much as liked the original. As sequel has a good story which does not follow up directly from the original and still has meaningful companion questlines to open the world and environment around you. Weapon arsenal can get huge from “legendary specials”, thou kept early game body armor till the end as the passive was too great to ignore. This can of course be different from your playthrough but mine was “trying to play” as stealth damage dealer. Which gets me to stealth and flaw system. I highly recommend looking into the stealth system before you start the game, as the game playthrough felt almost always against your build, especially with the boss fights. For a new player, take your time on reading the ”Flaw system” prompts. As these can change your character drastically from the original. As I accidentally accepted single flaw and after +5 hours later realize “Ohh.. So that’s what it (actually) meant, well my original build is now screwed.”. Especially with flaw of
Easily Distracted.
Also only single re-spec is available during prologue quest. I will argue the developers should have added a legendary quest to mid or near end of game, which gives re-spec option but removes few skill points / talents from the selection pool or adds a new flaw. As a reminder to players this action isn’t a solution without its own flaws. This would have changed my review possibly in a more positive direction. What about the soundtrack? Well, there is
three faction
channels, which each have their own agendas varying from commercial jingles, propaganda / history broadcasts and “special radio programs”. Once you hear each channel twice in a loop, you’ll most likely turn it off permanently. Finished the game with Hard difficulty as was familiar with the basic gameplay. Was quite though on few parts due messed up build and other enemy interactions.
Final score: 8/10
