About
The Outer Worlds 2 is the eagerly-awaited sequel to the award-winning first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment (just look at the exciting number of dashes in this sentence!). Time to clear your calendar – get ready for an action-packed adventure with a new crew, new weapons, and new enemies in a new colony! So much newness!
As a daring and most likely good-looking Earth Directorate agent, you must uncover the source of devastating rifts threatening to destroy all of humanity. Your investigation leads to Arcadia, home of skip drive technology, where the fate of the colony, and ultimately the entire galaxy, rests on your decisions—your strengths, your flaws, your crew, and the factions you choose to trust.
The Arcadia colony is engulfed in a factional war, as the Protectorate’s so-called benevolent rule is challenged by the rebellion of their religious order and a corporate invasion. As destructive rifts spread across the colony, each faction fights to control or close them for their own ends. Navigate diverse zones, uncover hidden lore, and shape the fate of a system on the brink!
Build your character with the abilities and choices that reflect your playstyle. The colony reacts to your every move, crafting a narrative that’s yours to own—whether you’re a disciple of diplomacy, an astute strategist, a crusader for chaos, or something different altogether. And yes, you can dumb!
Recruit companions with unique traits, backgrounds and goals. Whether you choose to help them achieve their ambitions or steer them toward your own objectives, your influence shapes their growth (or death), making them an integral part of the immersive story you create together.

I'm so utterly dissapointed with this game. I get that they're writing for an idiotic audience of console players, but come on. 3 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ factions, on *every planet* they're just the same? All the cool and funny satirical story elements of corporate espionage between corporations? Gone. Then we get this idiotic faction of "the protectorate" that's supposed to be space communists, but really just plays out like space feudal monarchists. It's a bigger game, with more limiting paths, which at the end of the day feels smaller. This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥. The incentivize hyperspecialization, and don't allow you to utilize your companions for anything meaningful, you can't even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ equip them, for ♥♥♥♥'s sake. Bring Tim Caine back as the head of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ project, because this game obviously lacked his vision. The first one was too short, that was the only problem I had with it. It needed a few more planets. The expansions were both great, a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ just couldn't change their own diapers and complained about it, because that's all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gamers do, because they're miserable ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ losers. ♥♥♥♥ this game, ♥♥♥♥ the audience this is appealing to, and ♥♥♥♥ Microsoft for ruining one of the best studios ever.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Couldn't get into it at all, felt like a chore to sit through dialogue
Its worst than the orginal, boring modern AAA slop. The story and characters are just plain awful and totally forgettable. If you like modern day slop this game is for you.
Worse game than the first. By a lot. Worse guns and their modifications Worse armor because armor value is practically not a thing and anything can pretty much one shot you. Enjoy your cosmetic "armor skins" Overall worse modifications than in the first game. No carry capacity making any kind of thinking and planning irrelevant. Combine all of this with extremely tanky and heavy hitting enemies and you have an annoying slop of a game that even the few okayish new features can't save. Game is poorly optimized with notable jerking and stuttering even with the specs I have. Managed to mostly deal with that after great fiddling with settings in-game and with nvidia control panel. Now only the boss fights stutter... The lockboxes just might be the only truly inspired thing in this heap. How can one fumble all the great things of TOW1 and replace them with this mess?? I would refund the game if I could at this point, let's hope this will get reworked in the future.
BLUF: This is a clunky game with abysmal scaling and controls, mediocre story and NPCs, and an overall disappointment from the first game. I wish I could take back my almost 50 hours of gameplay and put them into the first game again. I really tried to enjoy it. I even forced myself to complete everything on the first planet after the tutorial, and explored some of the next two planets without direction to see if anything could keep me going. This game's mechanics really put a damper on trying to enjoy it. Enemies are bullet sponges, even on story mode with a third of my skill points going into weapons skills. It really detracts from the RPG experience if you must force yourself into a meta build on story mode difficulty just to feel like enemies aren't a slog to take down. On top of all of that, the companions are not memorable or helpful in anyway. They have no contributions to the game outside of combat or their basic companion quests, each of those seeming lackluster. The dialogue has me wanting to skip it all and environmental storytelling is so dry I stopped bothering to read notes or computer entries. Overall I'm glad I tried the game out, but I couldn't recommend this game at all and wish I didn't spend the money on it.
