Reviews
The Trails series is niche and daunting, and this title is not meant as a starting point. Yet after nearly 1,000 hours spent across the saga—from Trails in the Sky FC to Cold Steel IV—it has grown into a world I’m deeply attached to, making the long journey more than worthwhile. Can’t wait to continue with Reverie and the Calvard arc, and I hope to see the series through to its very end.

Major disappointment and the worst Trails game plot- and characterwise so far. Don't waste your time.

Peak JRPG, words dont do it justice
Великолепное и неповторимое завершение великолепной и неповторимой саги
The most underrated franchise in the world. I bought Trails in the Sky in march 2023 and I consecutively played 9 Legend of Heroes games in a row and 1000 hours so far uptil now.
Рекомендую!) Було дуже файно
If this game was a person (and the developers were their inner voice) would I befriend, marry, or avoid them? DISCLAIMER These are personal thoughts from my own experiences, they do not reflect the thoughts or experiences of others. Potential Positive Traits: + Tells excellent stories, and really draws you into their storytelling. + They value your time, and make the time matter between the two of you. + They care about making sure that you are always welcome to come and go, and when you come back, they bring you up to speed in a compassionate way that doesn't make you feel negative about having other obligations + Inside jokes that are perfectly valid, and the depth of their adaptability to the time you spend is incredible. + They make you remember the best of times with them, and still acknowledge the challenges in a healthy way. + They are a lot like the childhood friend that will never abandon you, and will be there as if no time passed. + Even rewards you for having taken the time to have played with their former iterations! We all have phases and changes, and they appreciate you all the more for remembering! + Does not require a lot of your time, and will be ready for you next time! + Makes the time you spend quality time, and the more in depth you go, the more you can learn from each other. + They are not afraid to share dark stories, because life isnt perfect, and they certainly know how to make you curious for more. + They grew and improved everytime you met a new version of them, in whatever phase they were. + Constant growth and change, in the most impressive ways. Potential Negative Traits: - Isn't afraid to talk about possibly dark themes (whether referencing history in their world, or the darker references to human history). - Could be seen as a lot of time investment, though non-committal. - Can be a lot of exposition for some moments, when maybe action would be nice (however you can also skip and revisit dialogue, so depends? Haha). - Definitely can do lots of shopping for them and make all of their story characters looks more fun/appealing, but does cost money (totally optional). - So many stories that it can be overwhelming at times. - If you want to be perfect with all that you do, you will definitely need a guide (I have tried to be perfect, and you can make lots of saves just in case as well, though there are miss-able sections or items that can be locked out via timing). If this game was a person (and the developers were their inner voice) I would - Absolutely Marry them. The negatives exist sure. Overall, this kind of person would be someone I would embrace fully as they are. <3
i'm not really recommending this game per say but i also don't think it warrants a thumbs down either(this review has some spoilers) Cold steel was the worst thing that ever happened to trails. Sure it's had it's moments of greatness like all trails games do and cold steel 3 was the one cold steel game where i gueninely felt like the series was back on the upward trajectory but this game while still pretty good felt very bloated, cheesy and at times terribly written. The music and the major lore plot twists were for the most part all awesome(outside of a certain erebonian curse that ♥♥♥♥ felt like it was written by an edgy 14 year old) and the gameplay is fun. But the storyline is so overly long and there are barely any consequences despite the fact that the world is literally at war. The amount of cheese is so thick that it would make stewart little become obese. there are some gueninely cool moments like the pantagruel and everyone coming together to fight the empire and a bunch of great character moments too. But the story is so bogged down by filler and anime cheese it loses a sense of danger and tension that you would expect of a world that is literally about to end. This game is still kinda good but it really is dissapointing we went from the beautiful, exciting and thoughtful writing of the old 2d games to "she didn't die because i revived her using the power of friendship" and "class 7 will always win against you evildoers because we believe in our bonds" 7/10 although it's more like a 6/10
