Hailed as one of the largest, longest and most meticulously detailed turn-based JRPG series of all time, this first chapter in the ongoing Trails saga sets the stage for what's quickly become Ys developer Nihon Falcom's most popular and best-selling franchise in their entire 30+ year history.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Sep 3 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

awesome series
Lots of fun!

While it has some rough edges, it is honestly quite remarkable that the first entry in a long running JRPG series like this has managed to hold up so oustandingly well to this day. The orbment/gear system is incredibly interesting and well designed, although it could use a few more options (which I assume the sequels do add), the combat and especially the bosses to go with it are incredibly tightly designed and provide a near perfect difficulty balance on the game's hard mode. Gameplay pacing and character progression is top notch from start to end. The only complaint really is that the final dungeon of the game drags on a bit longer than it maybe should, but that's a small issue relative to the incredibly high quality of every single other part of the game.
better than Limbus
