_____________8__88_____8 ____________88_8__8_____8 ___________888_____88___88888 __________8888______88_8____88 _________8888_______88______8_8 _________8888_______88______8_8 _________8888_______8_______8 _________8888_____8_______8 __________88888____8______8 ___________8888888______8 __888_________88888_8 8888888________88_____ _8888888_______8_____ __888888_______88_____ ___88_____8_____8_____ ____8______8____8_____8_88 _______8888_8__88_8_88888 _____888888_8_88__8888888 ____8888888__88______88888 ____88888_____8_________888 ____88_________8__________8 _____8_________8_____ _______________8_____ ____________8_8_____ _____________88_8_____ ______________88_____ ______________8_____
FPS where you specifically use sniper rifles most of the time. Quite difficult on hardest mode. Levels looking good and offering some degree of freedom. For example you can choose your path to the objective to pick up best camping spot. Story is well made. Best entry in the series without doubt.
I enjoyed the first Sniper: Ghost Warrior, so picking up the sequel on sale was an easy choice. The story is easily the strongest part of the game. It kept me interested with a few unexpected twists, especially the betrayal involving one of your allies. Gameplay feels very similar to the first game, with slightly improved sniping mechanics and a heavier focus on stealth. On higher difficulties, getting spotted usually means you're dead, so planning your shots matters. That said, the game feels very scripted. I never felt like I had much freedom to approach missions differently, which made replaying them less appealing. Graphics and gameplay are decent for their time, but don't expect a huge leap over the first game. If you enjoyed the original, you'll probably have a good time with this one too—just keep your expectations in check. 6/10
💛4.5/10 - Sniper: Glorified Phone Game 2. [-] Bad / negative [+] Good / positive [+/-] Mixed / could go either way [-] As of June 2026, there’s a crashing issue when using night vision or binoculars. It’s not guaranteed, but with repeated use, it’ll happen. | > More is to be expected 13 years after release. [+/-] Maps are okay. [+/-] Sound design is basic and unremarkable. [+/-] Story uses the basic military trope: you’re the best, fight the boss, friend betrayal, etc. [+] Graphics are decent. [+] Voice acting is good. [-] Animations are janky. NPCs can snap into death animations instead of reacting naturally. [-] Gunplay is mediocre. The weapon system is standard, but lacks anything that makes it feel unique. Even at low heart rate, your rifle fights you like an off-screen airbender is messing with the barrel. [-] There’s no proper tutorial for bullet drop or wind pull, not even in the shooting range or first mission. [-] Enemies will pixel-peek from behind head-high cover while shooting you through it. This hides their muzzle flash, making them harder to locate than they should be. [-] Hit registration is inconsistent. A chest shot can cause instant death or a stumble animation, while a back-of-the-neck shot can phase through an enemy like they’re intangible. [-] Story guidance varies wildly. You’ll be playing “Where’s Waldo?” more than necessary when “Two tangos east blocking our route. Take them out.” comes through your ear with no UI guidance while you’re 700m+ out. Other times, you’re given a UI element directly above the target for guidance. | > Other annoyances include lines like “Look for the sunbeams flashing off their scopes!” with no visible flashes despite scrutinizing the surroundings.
I'm extremely nostalgic about this game, but that doesn't stop me from realising it's a painfully uneventful game with nothing to captivate the player. I wouldn't recommend playing it even if you got it for free. To elaborate, the 2010-2015 were full of these uninspired shooters, and this is one of the most painfully mediocre among them. The only gimmick that makes it stand out is being a sniper and that gives us slow motion when we shoot, sometimes. That's it. There's nothing more to this game than just running around, shooting people, but sometimes you get a slow motion of your bullet flying. There's nothing to say about the plot, characters or the visuals, all of these aspects were just... boring. The plot twist with our spotter turning out to be a weapons smuggler for the Serbians during the Yugoslav wars was just... bizarre. Other than that, nothing memorable happens the entire game. So you've got a painfully shallow gameplay loop and relatively mediocre rest of the game. So no, even if you got it for free, basically everything would be better than playing this game.

The first 10 minutes had an immersive environment that actually pulled me in. After that, it was all downhill. The game is incredibly generic and repetitive. Generic boring story. Same boring stealth-snipe formula on repeat with zero variety. It honestly feels like a low-budget mobile game stretched onto PC/console brain-dead AI, forgettable missions, and weapons that all handle the same. Extremely shallow and dull. Total disappointment after the opening. Avoid.
A huge nostalgia trip for me. I spent countless hours playing this as a kid, and coming back to it brought back so many memories. The sniping still feels satisfying, the atmosphere is great, and while it has definitely aged, it's still a fun experience. If you grew up with it, it's absolutely worth revisiting.
