As someone who grew up with this type of game, I have to say that I really enjoyed The Brilliant Coup! The pixel art is well done and immediately brought bck memories. The characters are funny, the dialogs aren't always “brilliant” but often make you smile. There are numerous references to the 80s. The story is really original and has some interesting twists and funny situations. The Brilliant Coup is an old-school point-and-clic kadventure that offers some nice nostalgia and is great fun!
The Brilliant Coup, is a point and click adventure game that really brings forward those nostalgic feelings in a old timer of a gamer that I am. I grew up with good classics, ive seen good, and bad games in the genre! And i enjoyed this game from the start to end. I got stuck a few places, and thank god for the official walk through, but im certain many others solved thos issues with ease 😂 Positives: -Good humor - Well designed character personalities - Beautiful pixel art! - Hard and creative puzzles and ofc some easy as well - Nice and creative item combinations - A UI that really takes to the good old classic games you are familiar with. - Did not encounter a single major game breaking bug! Did encounter a funny one though, when standing in front the bank, if you alt tab and come back after a while into the game. The trucks seem to reverse 😂😂 Negatives: - Maybe a bit short for my personal taste, was hoping for more stuff to do at the bank itself during the heist. - I wish there was more locations and more characters in the game - yes there was cars driving around at the bank. You saw a plane, and a team, but where are the people. Just random people (nok interactable one) to make the streets love up just a little bit. Yes this is nitpicking and not a issue with the game, just a quality of detail i hope can be added in the future or a possible next game? 😊 All in all, if you want a quirky, fun and creative adventure point and click game. This is for you, definetly worth it and you will get engaged quite instantly in the games story. My score after concidering all 7,5/10 Good work! 😊
Endlich wieder ein gutes Point- and click Adventure. Mit Liebe und Witz designed. Bitte mehr davon. Kaufempfehlung.
I just finished The Brilliant Coup! It reminded me strongly of Thimbleweed Park and Lucy Dreaming! I love old-school adventure games with 9 verbs interface and lots of wacky items! I would rate it easily as an 8/10 game! I really enjoyed it!
this game lost a lot of its appeal soon after its initial game play. characters move slowly. dialogue is boring. plot is not exciting. i dont know what it was about this game, but this wasnt it. wasnt charming, wasnt fun to solve puzzles. kept thinking it would get better, but after act after act, it kept getting worse. didnt even care enough to see end game. would not recommend.
While THE BRiLLiANT COUP doesn’t allow you to actively plan the heist of the Arctic Star, playing assistant to Uncle Briggs is certainly a satisfying foray into a life of crime. The game is decidedly old-school in its approach, and still has a few rough edges left to smooth, but it’s sure to steal your heart with its funky music and loads of subtle animations that bring the late-80s British streets to life. And it definitely achieves what it sets out to do: tricking people to get your hands on blueprints, convincing accomplices to join you, and then coordinating them to do their part of the job will keep you busy for a decent eight hours of traditional-style adventure gaming. While there’s never any true sense of danger or getting caught, there is a point of no return that determines how successful you are in the heist. While I didn’t manage to get the most loot, I did make off with a fair amount and was able to escape abroad for some well-deserved time off – hopefully with more irresistible future targets still to come. https://adventuregamehotspot.com/review/3802/the-brilliant-coup
