The Beastmaster Princess

I’ve played several Winterwolves games; so far, this one is my least favourite. What I liked: - The music is nice, so I do recommend playing with the audio on. - The option to have a harem/polyamorous ending was nice, I’m personally not particularly interested in it but I always love when media acknowledges there is sexualities and relationship forms outside of a monogamous hetero relationship - The character of Shane, who acts as a foil to our main character, is quite interesting and well developed rather than just a one-dimensional bully. I’d have loved to see more of him. What I didn’t like: - The writing isn’t particularly strong and at times really confusing (e.g. the Desert Snakes are clearly described as Nomads, then why does a big plot point revolve around the Desert Snake Village). - I didn’t find the love interests to be particularly interesting characters, maybe we could’ve done with one character less, and give that space instead to develop the other characters more). My favorite moment was probably the little cameos of characters from other series, and if that’s the highlight, that shows this story can’t stand on its own as much. - The art overall is very nice, but the blood effects. They’re very clearly tacked on last minute by opening Paint and using the red spray can. It looked so utterly ridiculous and out of place that it completely ruined those scenes for me as I couldn’t stop laughing. If there wasn’t the time or budget to add these I feel it would’ve been better to just leave the sprites as they are and leave the blood to the imagination. Overall, if you’re not sure about whether you’ll enjoy it or not, I’d recommend skipping this one, and rather check out some of the publisher’s other titles (e.g. Loren). I do still plan to read some of their other titles, and have backed their currently ongoing Kickstarter.

This one of the games where I wish there was a sideways thumb. I give it a thumbs-up for its clear Lesbian content (which I like). But I would otherwise give it a thumbs down: The story is not particularly long, it is more novel than visual. The erotic visuals are very limited - both in quantity and quality. There are a number of choices that influence if you achieve the erotic content or not. The logic of the choices doesn't really follow. It isn't obvious at all that one choice will improve the relationship with a "love interest" or not. Basically, if you want to unlock the erotic content you have to save the game all the time and check which way the choices lead so you can come back and choose accordingly.

It's quite a good game. If you like Loren The Amazon Princess,Cursed Lands and Tales of Aravorna you'll enjoy this

Great 18+ fantasy game. This is exactly what you need against the backdrop of all the boring visual novels in the indie segment.

Only real complaint I have is I wish the harem ending would have been flesh out a bit more but other than that another goodie from winter wolves

[b]이 게임은 제작사로부터 큐레이터 커넥트 받은 게임입니다.[/b] [h1]보1지 보여줌. 꼭1지 보여줌. 원시인들간의 교1미가 들어있는 비쥬얼노벨 야게임. 음악은 좋아요.[/h1] 주인공의 성별을 남/여로 바꿀 수 있음. 남자로 하면 그냥 일반적인 H씬이 나오고 여자로 하면 레즈씬이 나온다. 등장하는 히로인은 총 4명. 도중에 쩌리가 2명 추가되기는 하지만 곧 나감. 그리고 H씬을 보기 위해서는 특정 질문에서 특정 선택지를 고르는것과 대화이벤트에서 호감도를 올리다보면 나옴. 호감도는 일반적으로 대화이벤트를 통해서 올리는게 보통이지만 특정 이벤트에서 오르는 경우도 좀 있음. 이 특정이벤트에서 제대로 골라야 위에 설명한 "특정 질문에서 특정 선택지를 고르는것"의 H씬을 볼 수 있다. 한번의 선택지로 모든 H씬을 보는것이 불가능한건 아닌데 선택지를 다 외우던지 아니면 꼼수를 쓰던지 해야 함. 물론 주인공 성별을 남/여로 바꿔야 하니 최소한 2번이상의 플레이를 해야 모든 H씬을 다 볼 수 있음. H씬은 CG 1장에 스토리가 길게 나오는 방식이고 스탠딩CG랑 이벤트용CG의 그림체가 상당히 다른거 보면 아마 CG작가를 적어도 2명이상 둔거 같음. H씬쪽 CG를 그린 사람의 실력이 더 좋았다. 보1지의 경우에는 특정 CG에서 보지1털로 보1지가 가려진 경우도 있고 보1지 표현이 안된 경우도 있기는 하나 보1지 제대로 보여줄때는 소음순/대음순/클리 까지 전부 잘 표현해놓은 경우도 있음. (개인적으로 Luna 보너스 CG가 제일 마음에 들었음) 스토리는 광고페이지에도 나오지만 사막의 뱀 부족 족장의 아들/딸인 플레이어가 다른 부족에 도움을 청하러 가는 여정중에 일어나는 일+@를 다루었는데.. 선택지 어떻게 골랐느냐에 따라 솔로엔딩(노멀엔딩)이 뜰때도 있고 하렘엔딩이 뜨기도 한다. 그리고 특정 캐릭터를 공략한게 성공했다면 해당 캐릭터와 교1미 후 다른엔딩이 뜨기도 함. 모든 엔딩을 다 보려면 시간이 좀 걸릴 듯. 끝으로 성우는 없고 도전과제랑 갤로리모드가 존재하며, 요즘 들어본 야게임 배경음악 중에서는 가장 좋은거 같다. Never thought the best ending is the no romance route <3, Manila romance route is good too. Pros: Background arts are nice, the story follow nicely with other game in Loren's universe. It's fun to see any mention and the protagonist from Loren reappeared. This game is set before Loren events. 4 romances to pursue, each one is good and unique Cons: the main story is short but it felt long since it's not that much twist and thrilling. I give this game 6.5/10 ~ I think I play Cursed land next

Well, like other reviews I feel a bit torn here, I generally enjoy Winter Wolves' work very much but I do think this is probably the weakest one I played yet. The main story is quite weak and the writing often had me confused, it also doesnt really cover things that I felt it should, nor answer questions it poses, even the titular beastmaster princess, while being more or less the main character, has little to do with the plot, much less her beastmastery skill. Overall it felt pretty incosistent and half baked with interesting intrigue but poor payoff and several awkward or straight up nonsensical moments in between. That being said, I would say that this time around the main plot wasnt really the focus as it serves more to introduce and add depth to the characters and your relationship with them and in that, it does well. The romanceable characters are likeable and interesting, I do wish there was more interactions in general but I did enjoy spending time with them and by the epilogue, which are excellent, I felt invested and each of them did leave me with its own variation of happiness. As for the rest, music is swell, backrounds are pretty (except for that one with the desert that looks like it went through some ridiculous filters) and the CG's are fantastic. Sadly that doesnt extend to the sprite work itself, as the characters in CG's look very little like their sprite counterparts, they look oddly unfitting to the backround and especially to the sprites from older games like Toobar, but even to the redesignes of old characters like Myrth and Rei, they look like characters from different games. This bothered me especially on the male MC as he often looks quite dumb with his huge chin and eyes too close together. Im not sure if this was artistic decision or if there was a simply different artist working on the sprites this time around but while the desgins themselves are alright, the sprites took me a long time to get used and are, in my opinion, easily the weakest in any of their games. And jesus, the blood and crying effects... Overall, this is more of a side thumb than straight up enjoy, especially given that other people might be looking for different things, I had a good time overall but if you are in this for the main plot or lore of Aravorn this will be a weak entry for you. Other than that, recommended, im looking for the next WW work.
