About
A first-person action game, inspired by Dark Messiah, that provides various ways for defeating your enemies, with weaponry, magic, stealth, or clever tactics like kicking them into deadly spikes.
Explore a handcrafted campaign filled with unique levels, absurd situations, and a stupid story that starts with rescuing a princess and quickly goes very, very wrong.
Fight enemies using melee and range weapons. Hack, slash, bash, stab you enemies. Block their attacks or roll away to dodge. Throw your weapon at them. Disarm them. Grapple them. Throw Them. Kick them into anything or kick anything into them.
Use a variety of spells such as incineration, freezing, electrocution, illusion or telekinesis. Strategically deploy spells as traps on the ground, or infuse your weapons with these powers. If it's not enough, just mind-control your foes.
Sneak through guard patrols and backstab them, pickpocket their weapons, hide in barrels, or distract them.
Make good use of the conveniently placed environmental hazard. Kick enemies in spikes, in water, in fire, in chasms. Throw crates at them. Throw tables, red barrels™, other dead enemies, other alive enemies. Kick them down the stairs to knock them down. Use torches/lamps to put them on fire. Everything can be a weapon.

A fun, entertaining game. I completed all levels in 11 hours but there is much more game play to get all achievements. The skill tree is interesting. You can use different skills to change how you play if you run into difficulties on any level. The ability to pick up everything as a weapon is also entertaining.
This is a really fun immersive sim that also compelled me to get Dark Messiah of Might and Magic since this game takes a lot of ideas from it. Basically, the game is all about finding creative ways to finish the goal for each level. Usually this involves killing a bunch of people but you can complete objectives bloodlessly though that isn't nearly as fun. There are three character types to choose from - warrior, rogue, wizard - and there are enough skill points to fully specialize in one of them or build a nice hybrid (I went with rogue/wizard). There is no cost to respeccing so you can repeat a level with a different build to earn new achievements. Normal difficulty isn't too hard to complete so if you're experienced with these kinds of games you might want to switch to a harder mode. There is a very silly story in this game but it's not the main focus. I laughed at the Harry Potter parody featured in one of the levels and the notes are amusing to read, but you can skip most of this and even kick quest givers off ledges if you want to ignore the plot. Most of the humor comes from the ways you can kill people. For example, you can beat them to death with a baguette or lay an ice trap on the ground and watch a whole bunch of them slide to their deaths off a ledge. There are also environmental hazards like spiked walls and deadly chandeliers you can drop on enemies. These hazards are especially effective against the tough enemies you face during later levels. The maps are designed well and since it's an immersive sim there are usually multiple paths to victory. Sneaky players can find secret passages to go around heavily guarded areas, but those who enjoy the game's combat can just brute force their way through everything. Overall The Adventures of Sir Kicksalot offers a lot of value and I wish there were more levels. Hopefully the devs will add a DLC with new challenges.
