About
Venture into a handcrafted world where ruins whisper of past cataclysms. Master the art of sword and sorcery and forge your path with relics, spells and choices that shape who you become in this first-person RPG.
While Fatekeeper follows a focused narrative path, the world invites exploration. From ancient battlegrounds, vast underground caverns and serene forests to crumbling sanctuaries forgotten by time, each area rewards curiosity with hidden lore, forgotten relics, and unexpected encounters.
Battle a wide variety of foes, each with distinct patterns, strengths, and weaknesses. Success demands both skill and preparation. Engage in reactive melee combat, unleash spells with precision, and adapt your tactics on the fly. Your build matters—but so does how you wield it.
Fatekeeper offers rich progression mechanics that go far beyond surface-level stats. Build and refine your character with meaningful choices across combat styles, attributes, and spell schools. Whether you lean into raw strength, nimble precision, or devastating sorcery, the game supports a wide range of viable and unique builds.
Discover, loot, and master a wide variety of weapons, armor, and artifacts. Customize your loadout to suit your playstyle, and experiment with powerful combinations to overcome increasingly challenging enemies. Every item matters—and the right gear can be the difference between victory and ruin.
Chunky Slow character movement, sluggish combat, no controller support and fairly bad key bindings. I tried my best to rebind, but still felt awkward as heck. Pair that with punishing mobs and no viable healing (E.g. life leech is not functioning at the moment). Glad I got it on sale!
Will not touch this game until it gets CONTROLLER SUPPORT
It looks almost photorealistic but everything else and especially combat has been done better in other games. Gameplay is dark messiah without the fun experimentation or combat physics, it's a little too basic feeling, audio/ambience isn't really there either.
I was so excited for the release of this game! And it was abit of a disappointment... With how strong your character is portrayed to be, he feels so weak. theres no "BAM!" to his "POW!" at all. Kinda feels like you're fighting with a pillow. It felt clunky asf especially when it came to the weapons and hand to hand combat. You can still take damage from a balde 5 ft away and the bosses have double that range! Even with a well timed dodge or block, you lose half your health which leaves you on the run most of the game trying to drink potions that have little effect. Also, trying to drink a potion mid fight cancles every other machenic and basically makes you stand there and take it like a good boy. The powers were done pretty well, but even with upgraded powers it felt like the enemies got stonger and i stayed the same. They definetly could have been a better. The story became the only thing i was interested in. I loved the whole idea of a little bewitched rat that helps you navigate into a "watcher" he is such a cool character in the story, just wish he had a more involvement, similar to Jackies darkling "Knobby" in Darkness 2. One thing that also irked me was the fact there were no damage, impact or whooshing noises that made it feel any better. The game is so beautiful with so much potential. Speaking with your furry friend or fighting was pretty flat feeling. Thank god the voice actors were good! Was hoping for more...
Pretty but hated the controls and hated that I could not rebind block or dodge. Clearly needs more time in the oven.
The title has so much potential, looking forward to the final release. Great value for an early access game. It's clear the devs are trying to create something a bit different here, (even if inspired by might and magic), and the combination works well. the rat companion, the weighty combat, rawarding exploration and areas of true pitch blackness. It's a beautiful world to be immersed in and seems really well optimised, it provides a real challenge at points that requires adapting and experimenting rather than just tanking everything. once the gameplay 'clicks' it's exactly what i've been wanting. Steer the course devs, keep true to your vision and please don't succumb to the 'trying to please everyone' formulaic trends, we have enough samey generic slop already. This could really be something different.
This is not a game, its the skeleton of a game. After half an hour I still cannot "find the portal room", I assume because there is not a map and not a HUD pointing me in the right direction. I found some kind of blacksmith, but cannot interact with him, so I don't know why he's there. Found some kind of cool looking dragon mount, but not *really* interactable either. I can apparently cast a spell, but I have no idea if it has a name or what it does as I can't find any explanation for it, no real tutorial, no early fight to whet the appetite for battle, etc. I found lots if neat looking wild mushrooms and grabbed them...the game did not indicate if I should or not or what purpose they may serve...just huge holes in the game right now. If this empty world is ever to become a real game it needs to be totally fleshed out with features like an immediately gripping storyline, good tutorial, a good map, a HUD, some early quests that the player cares about, and early NPC or two that the player cares about, etc. Right now its just really, really good looking...nothing really.
Not a lot of game here... One chapter, then the game ends... most companies give this much out for free... not sure why I paid for this... only enough play so you can't ask for your money back.
Look, I like this game. It has A TON of potential. I don't regret buying it. But the game has some SERIOUS issues in gameplay and combat. The animations are way too slow. There is no input queueing, or animation cancelation. It looks like a souls-like BUT the enemies and the strategies do not fit this approach. When you are overwhelmed by 6-7 enemies and you have 3-4 archers shooting at you and one of them has poison bombs, there can't be any strategy or deliberate play. You have to kill them as fast as possible, because you are just fodder. It just isn't fun to play. But its only version 0.12. I will come back for further updates, and I really hope to listen to the critisism, because this could be a massive hit. Good luck to the devs and I AM GENUINELY hoping to changing my review to positive.
