There is some talk in the forums about was this actually a real arcade game? I think it was at some locations. I believe I may have possible seen it a few years back at the West Town Mall arcade (Knoxville), the one above their movie theater. But I did not play it as they implemented some new debit card like token system (Like the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge arcades have done, you TN folks know). All I know is that is was that next generation ninja turtles where they redesigned April O Neil. I know next to nothing about that generation of TMNT. Any who......on to the review. I know this is not Konami, but it really did remind me of the classic TMNT arcade games. But this is an actual 3D beat em up. The player characters and the enemies can move in all eight directions. And not just like a strafe as in a classic BEU,. but an actual walk toward in the direction whilst also attacking / walking / jumping, in the space allowed for a BEU (like shown in one of the preview pics of Krang being knocked back at a 45 degree angle). This may be one of the only times outside of Sega's Spikeout that I have played a true 3D beat em up. The throwing of the enemies toward the camera was obviously a tip of the hat to Turtles In Time. I liked that the game was not so difficult to just shut players down. I think there were other "member berries" (as they are called) pointing back to the original cartoons and the Konami arcade games, small things I noticed, like Baxter Stockman's army of mousers around him. Course, he wasn't a fly yet on that first game. The interactive stages were cool, like the ghost house / fun house. They made it really look like blacklight somehow. I suppose one of the challenges for a TMNT BEU is that they are essentially "locked" to their weapons. For a beat em up game, that takes a lot away imho. But hey its TMNT, you don't really notice it. I thought the special abilities got kind of boring. As they never changed up but it got the job done. For BEUS there seems to be two major types of special attacks. The first one I call "Panic button", this is a directional or localized attack, but it cannot and does not effect all enemies globally, this can be seen in X-men arcade. Then there is what I call "time stopper", 1989's Golden Axe essentially put this and the typical BEU dash on the BEU map. As the name implies it stops time, and it effects all enemies, globally. I suppose these special moves on this game were time stopper attacks. But they did not vary up, but maybe I missed something? I did not like what they did to Bebop or Rocksteady but maybe that is just how the characters are in that next gen TMNT they got these days? Some flashy levels and challenges, and most of the characters you know from TMNT are in this. I liked the sound design and the music. Overall I am surprised that this one flew under the radar for me. Being a BEU, and a TMNT game. I fortunately got it on a really good sale price. It would have been nice if it would have had online coop like say Streets of Rage 4. But as I said before, I was able to win it without coop so it was not needed for me in that regard. But perhaps it is the group play that really makes a BEU pop? After all, TMNT kind of put 4 player simultaneous Beat Em Ups on the map....
короткая
Игра хорошая, но проходится всего за 1 час, даже за 2 часа дополнительно получил все ачивки, ну фанатам черепах впринципе пойдет.
bad art style bad control bad mechanic
6 из 10
Fun game. Well made.
不推薦 沒閃避敵人還會從畫面外開槍攻擊 也沒技能戰鬥無爽感與打擊感 滿水的一片
Malo. Un beat'em up con solo 4 personajes elegibles. No hay historia, solo romper records.
