Overruled!

Overruled! is a great game to play with your friends, or complete strangers who will most likely become your friends as you beat each other senseless. This is the perfect game to spend hours playing with your friends/family or get that instant gratification of jumping into a random match and playing 10 minutes of awesomeness. Overruled! games are fast and frantic with the rules always changing keeping players on their toes and giving everyone a chance to be great at something. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a game that's as good online as it is playing locally.

I have mixed feelings about this. I know it's still an "early access game" but even in it's state, it's rather limiting. The campaigns are dull and repetitive, noone really plays online and those I have played with.. actually quit mid-game(Boredom maybe? Who knows. One that quite was even winning, sooo.) Basically. It's like some mini-games intertwined with one main game. It's ok for a few rounds here and there.. but then it just gets repetitive and some of the voices.. are quite annoying. I would recommend it at like.. more than 75% off(I paid $2-ish for it.) and only if you have a group of friends to play with. It seems to be targeted for a much younger age group. It's.. too SIMPLE. Essentially. Anyways. Fun.. sort of, for the full price? No, definitely not. Has too much work yet.

Tried too many times to make this work in LAN multiplayer. Doesn't work. Shouldn't be hard as ALL my other Steam games work perfectly, but this one just doesn't let us join each other's session, even with the integrated STEAM invite. I stopped trying, my buddies stopped trying.

Short version: This game takes you back to the good old SSB-brawling-with-your-friends times. The rule changing mechanics are a really nice idea. Recommended specially if you have firends/family to play locally with. TLDR: Keep in mind that this is an early review. There are many things the devs are working on. Controls: Controller works GREAT. It feels fluid and intuitive, you won't catch yourself having a hard time switching cards, jumping and hitting someone at the same time. On the other hand, keyboard controls feel plain out weird, specially on the card-controlling part (controlled using u, i, o, j, k, l). My first games were played using this imput method and it could sometimes get frustrating. This point is further aggravated by the fact that there are no remapping options at this point. Gameplay: This is the strongest point of this game. It is a 2D brawler with constantly changing rules (tag, king of the hill, racing, FFA and more), which are twisted further by players constantly playing their cards to, for example, double the points given or disable melee attacks for some time. 4 player games can get insanely fun, specially (as I already mentioned) in local games. Community: Right now the community is pretty small, and it can take some time to find a match to play in online. This can get frustrating at times, especially if you experience the "UPNP router bug" which won't let you create a lobby (which the game will automatically will do if it can't find a situable match, forcing you to lose even more time as it can't be cancelled until the error shows up). Overall: The game is fun, but does not feel complete yet. If the genre draws you in and you don't mind encountering a few bugs along the way, you will surely have a nice time playing. The devs are active in the forums and the community seems to be growing in a by-day basis, so even with its current flaws, I recommend this game.

Absolutely unfunny game. We've tried our best at sit ins to make this game enjoyable, it simply isn't any fun though. You've got horrible voice-acting, cardspamming that doesn't really do anything, at times clunky controls and pretty creepy graphics. I bought this game because in the early-access times it was swarmed with paid comments. I wish they had a refund option back then.

Looks like it is trying to be Smash Brothers where rules for special objectives are set dynamically based on powerups collected by the player. The controls are clunky,and environments overly restrictive; I was hoping ot get a good couch versus game, but it failed to catch our interest.

Overruled reminds me of a cheap Smash Bros. The characters are fun, but it doesn’t really make any difference who you play. The amount of maps that you can choose from is solid, but there is nothing special about them. The art-style is interesting, but pretty ugly and poor in my opinion. The graphics are therefore okay, but not good. There are different game modes which makes this game interesting, but not fun enough to keep playing it.

Got the game as a gift. I've found aprox 0 players online, so it's basically not playable :/
