One of the down sides for me was the energy consumption and energy management. The consuption was high and I felt I had to garden and sleep alot which slowed the progression down. At times it turned my gameplay into 2/3 farming and cooking, 1/3 exploring. If I wanted to spend less time gardening/cooking, I could, but only at the cost of not collectng/interacting and jogging everywhere, which was slow and not fun for me. I would recommend the game but only on special or if you're someone who does not mind the heavy management.
Much better games out there atm. Maybe it was good in 2019. Now in 2025 it's not good enough anymore, didn't like how it feel and play.
Stranded Sails – Explorers of the Cursed Islands begins with an appealing promise: a bright, tropical survival adventure where exploration, farming, and light questing come together in a relaxed, story-driven experience. Developed by Alchemist Interactive and published by rokaplay, the game casts you as the child of a ship’s captain after a disastrous voyage leaves your crew scattered across a mysterious island chain. What follows is a hybrid of farming sim, resource management, and open-island exploration wrapped in a family-friendly aesthetic. At first glance, the colorful visuals, cheerful tone, and gentle pacing make it feel like a comforting break from more demanding survival games. The early hours are the strongest, delivering a steady structure that teaches you how to gather resources, cook meals, plant crops, and gradually rebuild your camp. Every new system is introduced with clear purpose: farming ensures food security, crafting repairs tools and shelters, and cooking becomes central to managing the game’s stamina-driven progression. Sailing between islands adds variety, giving you new environments to explore and fresh materials to collect. As you reunite with your crew and learn the lay of the island cluster, the game successfully creates a sense of a stranded community slowly coming back to life. There’s a quiet charm in watching your small camp turn into a bustling settlement as each rescued crewmate brings a new skill or crafting recipe. However, as the adventure unfolds, the game’s limitations become more apparent. The stamina system, which governs almost every action—from running to chopping wood to rowing—drains so quickly that it often interrupts the intended sense of free exploration. Much of the mid-game becomes a cycle of preparing meals, traveling out, running out of energy, and returning home to rest, which can make progression feel more like maintenance than discovery. While this loop might work in a slower-paced farming sim, here it clashes with the excitement of exploring cursed islands and uncovering buried secrets. The tension between adventure and fatigue management becomes one of the game’s most persistent obstacles. The mechanical depth is also shallower than it first appears. Farming is basic, cooking requires repeated trial-and-error combinations, and crafting rarely evolves beyond simple upgrades. Combat appears later in the game, but it’s rudimentary—one attack button and limited enemy behavior. It adds variety but not complexity. Many missions follow a predictable structure: gather a set of items, build a specific tool or piece of equipment, then move forward to the next island. Because of this repetition, the narrative and tasks often feel more like chores than quests meant to build immersion or momentum. While the setting is charming, the gameplay loop sometimes struggles to keep pace with the sense of adventure implied by the story. Despite these weaknesses, Stranded Sails holds appeal for players who enjoy calm, low-pressure experiences. The world is colorful and inviting, and the music supports the breezy island atmosphere. Spending time growing crops, cooking meals, and sailing short distances can be soothing when taken at a leisurely pace. The tone is wholesome and accessible, making it suitable for younger players or anyone seeking a gentle, friction-light game. There’s also a sense of accomplishment that comes from helping your crew rebuild their lives and preparing for the final push to uncover the curse affecting the islands. Where the game ultimately lands depends on what you’re hoping to get from it. If you want a rich farming simulation with intricate systems, or an adventure game with deep exploration and strategic combat, this title may feel too simplified and too restricted by its stamina mechanics. But if you approach it as a cozy, lightly structured island adventure with just enough tasks to keep you moving forward, it can be a pleasant and relaxing escape. Stranded Sails succeeds most when embracing its identity as a laid-back journey rather than a robust survival challenge. It is a gentle, colorful experience with a few rough edges—one best enjoyed by players who value charm over complexity. Rating: 7/10
有繁中 一開始三個任務就被勸退了,放背包、拿蘋果、揚帆,這些無聊瑣事竟然還要分三次做!?
Slow, clunky and not enough content - typical of Rokaplay titles. So much potential, doesn't meet expectations.
3/10 washed up ship
Animal Crossing: New Horizons smokes on the sidelines
Honestly way more enjoyable than I expected. Although I feel the combat is a bit lacking given what I'm used to from games that focus on combat, I guess I am a little spoiled. That said, if you enjoy a bit of collecting with wholesome storytelling this is the game for you. :3
relajante
I started playing this and really enjoyed it but it got to a point where one of the needed items to progress is missing from the beach. I submitted a bug fix awhile ago but the team never got back to me.
