Just feels very empty. The villagers have no souls, like dolls moving without purpose as they stare about, like a cheap version of animal crossing. Sorry Devs. Kinda glad I didn't pay full price for it.
I've tried a lot to really enjoy this game but I just can't... There just feels like it's missing so much. The gameplay is so slow and unrewarding and there's no sense of direction. The game's way too zoomed in but that just shows how small the game world actually is, and how little there is to do. The farming portion of the game is obnoxious, being able to water 1 plant at a time and only 6 plants before you have to refill your watering can. I don't know, maybe I'm just not getting it, but I can't see how this hasn't been polished and added to over the years its been out, it definitely isn't finished
Just do not buy it if you are 8+ years old
I enjoy cozy games, and this is a cozy game. But I wouldn't recommend it. Its uneventful and it has similar vibes of animal crossing, but the story is boring and I lost interest in a few hours. I haven't played the game again since and have no desire to do so. There are much better simulation games on the market, with better play. Sorry Devs. It has some cute aspects, but honestly, I would never recommend this game unless it was at a VERY deep discount, or in a game bundle pack with other games you want to play.
If you loved Animal Crossing, you will LOVE Hokko Life! I think I prefer this game over Animal Crossing. You can play at your pace, and you can sleep to move time along. That is really helpful in the early game when you don't have access to as many places. Your character is cute, and the animal villagers are each unique and interesting!
It saddens me to say that I hated my experience with this game. Not because it's broken, not because it's unplayable but mostly, mostly because it feels like it's not a complete experience. When you come across a good farming sim/ or game in this genre a good game always manages to pull you in with something. Games like Stardew valley, Graveyard keeper, Dave the diver, dinkum etc. usually give you a specific time window to try and get as much done as possible creating this ''Just one more day'' phenomenon. This game absolutely fails to do this. The days are over 30 minutes long. Seasons have 30 days which in other games would be appreciated. But here because you really are not going for any bigger goals. You just don't get any sense of anything bigger to work towards. My score is 2/10 This game feels like unfinished experience, something that is slice in life that tried to do farming sim but just did not pull through till the end. If I was a single developer and my greater goal would be to make one day farming sim game, this as a demo towards it would be acceptable showcase of what I have learned. Unfortunately, because everything feels so fractured and nothing is properly connected. It's just not a good experience. Useful things can be hidden behind merits which would take you ages to get to, but those 30 minute long days just drag like snot from your nose. Nobody want's to catch that many butterflies and destroy the ecosystem. I had to google a lot of stuff and you know a game like this is bad just from looking at the Wiki. It's just not finished, there is no useful information. For me it's a no. I played the game to get the achievements done, but I am never touching this again sadly.
like the game and the graphics/artstyle, had to get used to the controls but that's okay. it does get a bit grindy eventually tho, with less quests EDIT: i perfected the game 100%. it's a nice and fun game for achievement hunting, but not really as a daily cozy game to relax. so depending what your looking for i recommend buying it on sale for some fun achievement hunting overall rating 7/10
Kasabada da adam akıllı kimse yaşamıyor he. Bildiğiniz epstein adası gibi. Oyunu kim hangi akılla tasarladıysa bir daha olmasın.
Played for the first time today and I couldn't get past the "tutorial". You need 40 logs to make your own house but the resources available only gave me 36. At this point in the game, you have been given no other tools other then an axe so there is nothing else to do at all...I tried sleeping for a few days to see if any logs would spawn but they didn't. And then I had to alt + f4 to close the game because the exit game button didn't work... I'll try again in a few years....maybe
I don't own this game. I have no idea why I'm allowed to write a review... Uh... It's probably good, ♥♥♥♥ it, why not, right?
