Great physics engine. I've been genuinely shocked by the emergence of some curious real life phenomenon from this engine, and the gameplay is great too. I love the visual and sound design but I do sometimes miss the sound effects and music from marble blast ultra on the xbox 360. The levels are great, and it's super fun to watch my friends runs, the best runs, and to see how my time stacks up against the distribution of personal bests. These features really bring out my marble mania, and allows me to appreciate and aspire to the highest level of gameplay. I love this silly marble game!
Great game if you like having fun
WHERE ARE MARBLE SKINS FOR NESQUIK!!!
Marble It Up! Ultra is a game that's tricky to pin down to a specific genre. At first glance, it's just a 3D platformer focused on physics. Overall, like a lot of indie projects on Steam, everything here is done pretty 'neutral.' There's no wow factor, but also no big letdown. The graphics and music are a matter of taste, customization is minimal — and honestly, what can you really tweak when you're rolling around as a plain glass marble? Gameplay revolves around completing levels, and there are 10 packs in total: 6 main and 4 bonus (the latter unlock by getting gold on any level). Each level has moving platforms, traps, and other tricky stuff to make things harder. Some levels you can get gold on your first try, but others will have you coming back about five times if you want a perfect run. It's not just about being hardcore and planning your speed boosts, but also about the game's physics itself. Despite the name MARBLE, the ball feels either kind of plastic or way too heavy. You control it with the usual "WASD" and jump, but you often have to rely on bonuses like slow motion, mega jumps, and flying. The levels have two main types of challenges: either get from point A to point B as fast as possible or collect scattered gems and reach the exit. The locations are bright and fun, but messing up here is super easy. The ball’s physics feel heavy: it’s hard to slow down, and sometimes it feels clumsy. And then there’s the tricky level design—sometimes the world flips 90 degrees in different directions and ramps that are supposed to help can totally ruin a run! Still, it’s a game that works well for YouTube watching. Surprisingly, it even has online multiplayer and daily challenges, which adds replay value and doesn’t feel forced at all. If you remember Marble Blast Ultra from the Xbox Live Arcade days, it's that game if it was good, better even. It can get challenging but it's a very fun game to play without needing to be overbearingly difficult. I love games like this, very DEDICATED to this genre of marble game.
In a genre that was lost to time, this gem of a game shines brighter than a star.

When I was growing up, my diet of video games had an occasional serving from the "3D ball roller" genre every now and then. These games were oh-so common back in my day; games like Super Monkey Ball, Kula World, HamsterBall (the GOAT), Mojo!, Mercury Meltdown and so on. There was a new spin on this unique genre almost every year, but all of a sudden, the genre just disappeared. You'd figure with all of this great technology we have that some developer would step up to the plate and create a great 3D ball roller game... ...and well, this is that game, and it's more than good- it's fantastic! Super-simple gameplay formula, just roll your ball (or marble, in this case) to the goal as fast as possible, but the magic happens with the fantastic level design that intelligently eases you into all of the quirks, tricks and mechanics of hurling your ball faster and faster to the goal. Never before has a game's level design opened up my mind and lit up so many lightbulbs in my head on new ways to improve my skills until I played this one. It's an amazing feeling, especially after all of your retries and practice pays off to nail that time you were aiming for. If you're aiming for the Gold times, like I did, then you will be trying the levels, a lot, and I mean, a LOT. However, with each retry, my control improved, my flow got smoother between each segment and I improvised a lot on the fly by analyzing the intentional placement of level objects, obstacles and terrain. If you're looking for a much more difficult challenge, there's hidden DIamond times as well, but the Gold times are enough of an achievement for me; as of this review, only <4% of all players of this game have all Gold times on all levels! Great graphics, simple controls, smooth and easy-to-understand physics and mechanics, and also a boppin' soundtrack. Sometimes the game plays a track that captures the moment perfectly, as you're hurling your ball at like a million-miles-a-minute to the goal and you nail that split-second jump you had to make over that gap into the Goal. Talk about Hype! One thing I don't like is that the unlockable customizations are tied to gameplay challenges and also secret, hidden areas in each level. Some of these secret areas are hidden so well that it requires unconventional means of reaching them, just to unlock another design for your ball. A good majority of them can be unlocked by purchasing them with currency you earn from completing levels, but some of them are locked behind other requirements.

This is an exemplary example of the 3D ball roller genre; it was a refreshing change-of-pace to play compared to all the other games coming out that are usually the same three or four genres. We need more games like this! That being said, it'll be quite hard to top this game in the niche that it satisfies very well.
probably the best game
absolutely insane comeback
It's what it says on the tin, a marble-roller game... but man, is it a fun time. It really does harken back to games like Marble Blast Gold, and there's plenty of replayability in trying to beat your best times, not to mention also trying to find the treasure-boxes hidden within each of the levels. I wish more people would play the online mode though, but that's the curse of modern gaming for you... regardless though, I love this game a lot and i highly reccomend it.
A great spiritual successor to Marble Blast Ultra, which I spend hours playing on my Xbox 360 as a kid. Runs great on LMDE 7 on my laptop.
Marble It Up! Ultra is an absolute blast and a worthy successor to the original. However, the experience is currently marred by a persistent fullscreen text bug. When playing in fullscreen, the UI scaling often breaks, text becomes garbled or low-resolution, and in some cases, menu buttons (like 'Apply') are cut off entirely. It’s disappointing to see this issue still present after several updates. Please prioritise a fix for the display scaling and resolution management!
