Great. Got to work better on Linux, Mint Cinnamon specifically, by switching to proton 5.13-6. This fixed the controller issue ans freezing every time the game is closed at start menu.
The entire Disgaea franchise is like slot machines turned into tactical RPGs Free Disgaea D2 from the PS3 btw
best disgaea dont @ me
This was peak on my PS2 and probably the first Disgaea game I came close to 100% back then. It was fun to revisit here and I keep it on my favorites list so I can see my Disgaea collection lined up and pretty. Please add Disgaea 3 it will sell to us completionists.
This game has the best soundtrack and environment of the Disgaea series. A must play.
As of writing, I've played every Disgaea game except for 3 and D2. I'm rather experienced with this series now, so I'm happy to share why I think everyone should give Disgaea 2 a try. Demon Overlord Zenon has turned all the humans in Veldime into demons, and it's up to the last human in the world, Adell, to stop him. However, a summoning ritual ends up summoning Zenon's daughter Rozalin instead! The story itself is not groundbreaking or anything, but I enjoyed the cast quite a bit. The best part is seeing the relationship between Adell and Rozalin develop as the game progresses. There's also returning characters from the first game, but I wouldn't say you're required to play Disgaea 1 first in order to enjoy this one. Disgaea 2 builds off of the original game's strategy RPG gameplay and improves it to the point where it feels much better to play. Healers actually earn EXP for healing this time! The Item World is also much more functional than the one in the first game. There are also lots of new classes to try out, and a new weapon type for monsters that actually helps make them viable team members. This version also includes all the DLC characters from the PSP release and the additional Axel Mode. The game is grindy, as to be expected of a Nippon Ichi Software game, but if you're like me you'll enjoy diving into the Item World for hours and leveling up.
Disgaea 2 PC is basically the "Complete" version of the PS2 and PSP game without some of the sony dlc. While id love to see them make a version with upgraded sprites and QoL, Disgaea 2 PC is still an awesome Disgaea game worth playing. Now we just need them to release Disgaea 3 from its prison as a Complete version
this franchise is the family guy cutaway gag of tactical rpgs, still really fun
