Don't buy this game. It is very short and feels like part 1 to a game that never got a part 2. Nothing really compelling about it.
If you're seein' things runnin' thru your head, an' invisible man sleepin' in your bed, who can you call?
Who doesn't want to be a ghost hunter at times? This game is a Full Motion Video type, which I am a big fan of, so I started my adventures of as a ghost hunter in training, gothic/post-punk, curvy, girl. All the right ingredients for a great FMV if you ask me. The graphics are a bit similar to games as harvester and phantasmagoria. The controls are simple and easy to understand. I would recommend this game, although it is way too short. It feels like you are playing a tutorial of a potentially great interactive movie game. Pros + Regular/alternative/curvy people are cast in the game, which is appealing to the eye + Cool ghost hunting gadgets + Easy to use controls + Old school Sierra graphics Cons - Too short - Too expensive for what you get
Please follow our curator page, Otome Lovers, if you'd like to see more reviews like this one! STATIC: Investigator Training is a quite easy, casual approach on the point and click genre - it's really short, finishable in 1-1-1.5 hours. The game's about ghost hunting, so if you adamantly believe that ghost hunter shows are a fake thing and you're annoyed by them, I suggest you not playing the game, because you won't enjoy it's story. Also, 8€ at full price is a lot for the quite amateur quality and short, unoriginal story - I don't like to lowball creators of intresting (and actually working) indie games, but I can't recommend to get this game for more than 1-2€, sorry. (Another FMV, Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure has 10++ hours of content for 20€ while having much better quality.) I still give a recommendation for it, because it's already a quite niche-genre - lovers of FMV probably will like it for a fair price, and people who doesn't like FMV won't need reviews to realize this is not their jam. The game is an FMV, Full Motion Video one - meaning the actors are real actors, filmed before greenscreen. I like the genre, so I was looking forward the game. I don't say I was disappointed, but neither was is great - it was an okay indie game, and this time indie also means low budget and experimental from the developer's side, as there are many weirdly done things are in the game. Current 8-to-5 (61%) rating qualifies this game as a mixed, and I also had mixed feelings about it. FMV is most definitely a plus in my book, as I still find the genre a really intresting one. But I can not comprehend why they animated the little popup-dialogue faces instead of capturing it by camera - or maybe they were using a low-frame recording camera. At the end, it doesn't matter why, but during the dialogues the character's face is totally static, only their mouth moves in a really weird, and not too life-like way. Uncanny valley all the way (Looks life-like, but the way it works/moves kind of creeps you out). Also, there's only one pace of walking in animation, yet at least 3 different speed at generally moving - meaning that sometimes the lady steps one and slides 3-4 metres during that time Voice acting is inbetween terrible and acceptable - the actual lines are not bad, but for some reason the actress reads every single line as it's written and takes a huge ........ pause after each line and before she starts the new one. I don't know if it was her fault, or they recorded the story in segments, but when there's two line of text on the screen, she reads/tells it perfectly. If the sentence is presented on two screens, then there's the huge pause after the first screen's text ended. It won't make the game bad, but a really amateurish / unexplained thing in the game. (And I managed to froze the game up by initiating a cinematic few minutes before the game's end, and for some reason I still went to the next room - the cinematic couldn't play because I was in a wrong place, and couldn't move/save/load because the cinematic wanted to play, so the game just froze up)
I wanted to like this game as I enjoy ghostly stories but knew from the preview video that it was pretty lame before I even started, lol.. For a few minutes it was sort of entertaining. Good thing that I paid under $2 ! Strangely bad though. I agree with the reviewer who said, for a few euros more one could get the brilliant Lost Crown game which is leaps and bounds above in excellence..
SIT is a short point & click adventure that uses video sequences for animation and cutscenes. You play a paranormal investigator trainee who investigates a haunted house and the deaths associated with it. It does not have QTEs, and it does have a proper inventory with tools, so I hesitate to call it an interactive movie. It took me ~1.5 hours to complete, though I guess you could do it in under 1 hour if you rush. As you can see from the screenshots, the graphics are nothing to write home about, but the voice acting is very nice, and the plot is decent. You get to select some tools to do your investigations with (I chose camera, thermometer (useless) and pendulum), so there may be some replay value if you want to try solving it with the other tools. You also pick up some items as you go. There's a fair bit of pixel hunting, too. I picked this up on sale and didn't regret it, but I don't think it is worth full price - maybe if they added some more episodes.
A short, but still quite nice third person FMV adventure game about ghost-hunting. You can choose three ghost-hunting tools out of six or seven, so there is even a certain degree of non-linearity and replayability. Think of a little FMV version of 'The Lost Crown': you look for the shadows of the lost souls at night, both inside the old mansion and at the cemetry, follow them to their hidden diaries, gather clues as to their past mysteries etc. One drawback is the game's length - about two hours only. It does indeed look like a demo or a prologue to a big adventure game never made. Still, the story is fun and complete - I would definitely recommend to get it, if not for a full price, then during a sale like this Halloween one.
Genre
Ein kurzes & simples FMV Point & Click Adventure
Story

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
Not very good, with lots of problems. The game puts you into the role of a would-be paranormal investigator. As a test you're asked to investigate the house they're based out of. The game uses FMV's, but does so badly. there is no perspective (the character stays the same size closer and farther from the camera, and tries to use lipsync (badly). During conversations the character images (apart from the lipsync) are pretty much static, yet look like they have been cut out using mspaint. Apart from that it's a point and click adventure, but short (1-1.5 hrs according to other reviewers). The narrative is quite cringeworthy at times. The pricing is crazy. This is definitely not worth the 8 bucks the store asks for it. Luckily (or not) I got this from a bundle. For 2 euros more you can get "The Lost Crown", another paranormal investigation game, which unlike this game, delivers, and does so for 30+ hours. Dear Strategy First, why the hell did you publish this?
