A new sci-fi adventure from Cyan, the creators of Myst. Abducted far across the universe, you find yourself on a broken alien landscape with odd pieces of Earth. Explore, uncover, solve, and find a way to make it home.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Aug 22 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Game 173 of my backlog ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. What a ♥♥♥♥ show. It starts off fun, like a lot of titles, but ends with my most hated thing. Grind. How is there grind in a puzzle game? Well there are these teleporters which I won't go into detail with due to spoilers, but they become the core part of puzzle solving throughout the game. Every time you take one, it takes a solid 20 seconds for things to load. Now imagine having to do that for a single puzzle over 200 times. That is roughly an hour. That falls on to one very particular puzzle in the game. And btw, that's ONLY from teleporting. You still have to solve the puzzle which could very well take you another 30 minutes to an hour depending on some RNG factors + your intelligence level. And then finally, these same teleporters are used throughout the game to get to various other places with what is actually a cool mechanic. HOWEVER. There are some very specific things you need to do early on in the game that require a very specific set of teleporters to be used back to back to back. Let's say you're close to the end of the game and you forgot just one little thing you needed to do in the beginning. NOW YOU GET TO UNDO EVERYTHING. DO THAT ONE THING. AND THEN RE-DO MOST OR ALL OF THAT EVERYTHING AGAIN. Man it's just so frustrating.

I literally wanted to claw my face off for the last 60-70% of this game. The puzzles are mildly complex but exceedingly tedious. There is only so much walking back and forth to press the same buttons over and over that a person can take.
Cart got stuck in the tunnel behind the house where the Ambassador Seed was located. After checking forums and Google and troubleshooting options, I discovered that I basically have to e-mail my files to Cyan support to get them to edit and fix the softlock. Known game-breaking bug for years and never fixed - cool. I've also discovered there is a maze puzzle later which is positively awful to solve. I think I'll pass. I don't feel like pouring all my time into this mess or e-mailing support to get them to fix it so I uninstalled. I have better things to spend my time on.
This is a game that would have been a solid 8 with decent puzzles, beautiful environments, and an intriguing world. as a fan of cyan games and having loved the myst/riven remake in vr this is beyond dissapointing. years after release i cant recomend this game due to Crap poor optomization and testing. running on 4060 with 32g ram and the game randomly maxes out ram/vram/etc and crashes pc due to memory leak. Interacting with objects can mess with tracking so that all of a sudden your under the map for a second before it fixes skipping cutscenes and vital information for puzzles. It would have been a very decent game but after 20 hrs of playing and restarting just to have final cuscene skip due to tracking so i didn't even get to see the ending set piece before credits makes this a HARD PASS
The first quarter is engaging, the second quarter is beautiful, the third quarter is tedious, and the fourth quarter is crushingly disappointing.
ATTENTION: On mac, steam integration doesn't work. Cloud saves are empty, no achievements unlock. After beginning the game, you are told speak to a character behind a door for info, and have to ring a doorbell to speak to him. I rang the doorbell, nobody answered. Again and again. Being a distinctly vague exploration puzzle game, I assumed I was missing something, so I went looking. In reality, there was nothing to find, just a buggy game, that didn't run correctly. Restarting the program had him answer the door. This epitomises the entirety of the game. An unfortunate failure due to being unpolished, buggy and having many aspects not well thought out, puzzles included. In Myst and Riven, you explored the environment to find the answer to a puzzle, then solving it usually took a moment. There are no really challenging puzzles here. You know the answer immediately, and then follow drawn out actions to solve them - with obscene amounts of repetitious traversal and slow loading screens. Why do I have to walk between two buttons over and over again, 4 minutes between them each time, when the puzzle would be solved in 5 minutes if the buttons were just next to each other? It's just bad design. There are just so many gripes like those above just screaming that the game wasn't play tested well: - The game normally shows directions to move mechanisms, except for one or two where you are meant to "figure it out". This inconsistency just makes it unclear it's a mechanism. either include directions on all or none. - The cursor can click the wrong item if the items are small and close together, even though the cursor is on the correct one. There are some small inputs and this is a nightmare. - Bizarre puzzles that require US geographical knowledge? - Literally broken steam integration. - Bad optimisation. This whole game has like mid graphics and literally everything is static, why does loading take so long? Why make puzzles based around loading screens? What? There are things to like (environments) and there was potential, but it was just left to fall flat by laziness IMO.
it's myst... in SPACE!
Really good and really immersive! I really enjoyed playing this game and look forward to a sequel if one is planned!
Obduction is a great game. The world is fascinating and beautiful, the story is good, and the puzzle mechanics are complex and interesting without being overwhelming. I played this as my first Cyan game, so it was a little jarring to get used to their style, but once I settled in, I loved it. My only gripes are that some puzzles are a little obtuse and that it takes forever to travel anywhere because the walking speed is so slow. I did not need a guide to complete the game.
