About
Soulmask is a massive survival crafting game set in multidimensional ancient civilization open worlds. Carve your path through two unique realms—[Cloud Mist Forest] or [Shifting Sands]. The choice is yours.
You are a survivor whose soul is tied to a mysterious mask. To survive this world, you must recruit the strongest barbarians, using the masks to possess and lead them toward a new era of civilization.
In the world of Soulmask, no two souls are alike. With over 871 unique Talents, Masteries, and Likes, your tribesmen offer infinite possibilities.
From bloodthirsty warriors and lethal hunters to legendary craftsmen and master harvesters—recruit them all. Transfer your consciousness through the mask to possess any tribesman, transforming them into your ultimate avatar.
The 1.0 update allows your barbarians to share their wisdom. Train your tribesmen and pass down skills to forge the ultimate, one-of-a-kind warrior.
Explore two ancient worlds spanning great distances, each with unique climates and ecosystems
Rainforests, deserts, snow-capped mountains, plateaus, and islands that you must adapt to... or perish. Each environment demands different strategies for survival.
Hunt for treasure in ancient ruins, battle mechanical enemies in labyrinths, or take on entire barbarian cities alone. This world is yours to challenge and explore.
Retrace the ascent of civilization: from humble thatch huts to impenetrable blackstone forts. Watch as your small settlement evolves into a majestic city.
From the first seeds of agriculture to the roar of machinery—experience the true evolution of civilization in Soulmask through farming, beekeeping, weaving, leatherworking, smelting, and more.
You do not walk this path alone. With a sophisticated command system, your tribesmen can automate every task. From gathering raw materials to managing logistics and assembly lines, you can design and transform your home into a fully automated industrial powerhouse.
In this world, the Mask is a symbol of the gods. Each Mask grants a unique combat style, while the Mimicry System lets you embody a deity to turn the tide of battle.
With 9 weapon classes, 88 weapon skills, and the infinite traits of your tribesmen, each battle is a thrilling test of skill to be experienced as you fight for survival.
Freedom is at the heart of Soulmask. Play solo at your own pace, team up with friends in co-op, run your own private server with custom rules, or step onto official servers where the stakes are real.
PvE if you want your civilization to grow undisturbed, PvP if you want to test it against rival chieftains. However you choose to play, over 200 customizable settings let you shape the rules, the rhythm, and the world itself.
In v1.0, we introduce three distinct playstyles: Tribe Mode for the builders and leaders; Survival Mode for the purists; and Warrior Mode for those who seek the thrill of brutal combat. Choose your style.
Supports Steam Workshop and everyone can now unleash their creativity with our powerful Soulmask Modkits to craft a Soulmask experience unlike any other.

Soulmask is currently best experienced with keyboard and mouse. We're actively working toward full controller and Steam Deck support, with a target of completing this in 2026. If you primarily play on a gamepad, we'd encourage you to wishlist the game and check back once that update lands.

idk... I tried the 1.0. It puts a dozen cutscenes in front of you, then a VERY barebones character creator. Then you start the game and get the ability to fly right away. Then you get all the tools to immediately! No progress, no good tutorial. Really bad onboarding experience. And I guess there are 2 maps? Can I do both? IDK. These games need a good intro to hook you and this wasn't it. I'll try it someday with a UI and onboarding overhaul. Update: Tried after a big update: THE UI IS SO BAD! What is this mask UI? Is something repaired? Which one isn't? What do I need? Did the devs not even play this? I don't think I've this frustrated playing a game this decade.
The idea of a egypt style map is spot on but, the recomended awareness lvl for the bosses at the pyramids are all wrong. It gives you a recomended awareness lvl so you go in at that lvl and you will get crushed if you are playing solo with out using cheats also known as mods, glitching, changing rates and things and so on. The auto miners suck hard and are useless and need to be put back to having a worker on them because you do not get enough resources from the auto miners so iit is just quiicker to miine it your self. my worker I have smelting copper spends 90% of its time sitting at the bon fire because the mines do not farm copper fast enough.
(I'm still in early game at the time of review) I was aware of this game since it first went into early access and decided to pick it up after early access was concluded. Initial impressions are not great. While the thematic elements are unique and enjoyable to a degree, there's not a lot of new ground being broken with this title. Soulmask appears to borrow from many Survival Crafter predecessors and doesn't really do anything special with it. Adding to this is a fractal nightmare of a UI that feels as unpolished as it looks and goofy animations that detract from the overall vibe. The early game so far is not terribly engaging. Playing at normal difficulty feels like nothing is terribly threatening if you know what you're doing. It's been more of a chore than an enjoyable experience. Performance feels sub-par yet unjustified on a decent rig as the graphical fidelity isn't exactly at UE 5 levels of realism. I'll keep playing it since I already threw money at it out of curiosity, but Soulmask needed more time in the oven to really iron out all this jank.
I have started in the jungle and really like the setting so far. The beautiful jungle I am in is varied enough to be interesting and I am only just starting my journey. I love the way items are quick transferred with a quick keybind. I have the game on really an easy setting but I think I am going to turn it up so its a bit more challenging. The game lets you play the way you want and allows a lot of customization in settings. I like to build and this game has not disappointed me yet. I can see myself putting in a lot of hours in this game.
Strike 1: Intro has no sound (making you assume there is an issue) and weird, glitchy graphics (meant to be a feature), I obviously ended the processes, Googled the matter and tried again ... losing 10 min. of my life. Strike 2: You eventually begin the game proper next to a boat so clunky and ugly that it crushes nearly all immersion and hopes for the title. Strike 3: There are tons of text and icon on screen, but no indication as to what to do next, except some hints about your "wings". Clicking the relevant button ("V") crashed Windows. Strike 4: After half an hour of verifying files, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers etc. I finally got to try again, but now the game won't launch at all. Avoid this title!
