About
Soulmask is a massive survival crafting game set in multidimensional ancient civilization open worlds. Carve your path through two unique realms—[Cloud Mist Forest] or [Shifting Sands]. The choice is yours.
You are a survivor whose soul is tied to a mysterious mask. To survive this world, you must recruit the strongest barbarians, using the masks to possess and lead them toward a new era of civilization.
In the world of Soulmask, no two souls are alike. With over 871 unique Talents, Masteries, and Likes, your tribesmen offer infinite possibilities.
From bloodthirsty warriors and lethal hunters to legendary craftsmen and master harvesters—recruit them all. Transfer your consciousness through the mask to possess any tribesman, transforming them into your ultimate avatar.
The 1.0 update allows your barbarians to share their wisdom. Train your tribesmen and pass down skills to forge the ultimate, one-of-a-kind warrior.
Explore two ancient worlds spanning great distances, each with unique climates and ecosystems
Rainforests, deserts, snow-capped mountains, plateaus, and islands that you must adapt to... or perish. Each environment demands different strategies for survival.
Hunt for treasure in ancient ruins, battle mechanical enemies in labyrinths, or take on entire barbarian cities alone. This world is yours to challenge and explore.
Retrace the ascent of civilization: from humble thatch huts to impenetrable blackstone forts. Watch as your small settlement evolves into a majestic city.
From the first seeds of agriculture to the roar of machinery—experience the true evolution of civilization in Soulmask through farming, beekeeping, weaving, leatherworking, smelting, and more.
You do not walk this path alone. With a sophisticated command system, your tribesmen can automate every task. From gathering raw materials to managing logistics and assembly lines, you can design and transform your home into a fully automated industrial powerhouse.
In this world, the Mask is a symbol of the gods. Each Mask grants a unique combat style, while the Mimicry System lets you embody a deity to turn the tide of battle.
With 9 weapon classes, 88 weapon skills, and the infinite traits of your tribesmen, each battle is a thrilling test of skill to be experienced as you fight for survival.
Freedom is at the heart of Soulmask. Play solo at your own pace, team up with friends in co-op, run your own private server with custom rules, or step onto official servers where the stakes are real.
PvE if you want your civilization to grow undisturbed, PvP if you want to test it against rival chieftains. However you choose to play, over 200 customizable settings let you shape the rules, the rhythm, and the world itself.
In v1.0, we introduce three distinct playstyles: Tribe Mode for the builders and leaders; Survival Mode for the purists; and Warrior Mode for those who seek the thrill of brutal combat. Choose your style.
Supports Steam Workshop and everyone can now unleash their creativity with our powerful Soulmask Modkits to craft a Soulmask experience unlike any other.

Soulmask is currently best experienced with keyboard and mouse. We're actively working toward full controller and Steam Deck support, with a target of completing this in 2026. If you primarily play on a gamepad, we'd encourage you to wishlist the game and check back once that update lands.

Cara… E o mapa? Gigante, bonito e cheio de coisa pra descobrir. Agora, a DLC…
This is one of those games I really want to love but so many things just lead to frustration. Love survival builders, love mobile/ship base, love resource runs. This game has all these things but unfortunately doesn't do any of them well. I bought this discounted and within the time of receiving the shifting sands DLC for free. Having played for quite a bit, I don't think the base game would be fun at all without a mobile base (at least for me). Having stated that, I really don't think base game + shifting sands is value for money. Going in I was ok with the idea of some grind but its the combination of things that makes me think you should give it a pass. The games settlement mechanic is centred around building a camp bonfire (fair enough) but if you use a mobile base the bonfire of said ship wont protect structures off ship when in range. its seams the bonfire doesn't stop enemy spawns either and cant be constructed in most POIs on the map. This is really frustrating when you hit mid-late game and need to automate some of the major resources. I tried to automate iron with the powered drill but the game will not allow the ship-connected windmill to power the grounded mine. If I move the windmill to the ground with the mine, they will decay unless I set up a bonfire. This is problematic as there is a bonfire limit and so you can only do this for so many resources. I will admit that you can change the server setting but so many games like this do not have this issue. I also have a serious issue with how NPC enemies respawn. Its not like other games where there's is a long cooldown or player proximity checks. they will straight up pop back into existence right in front of you, not even that long after killing them. Its a nightmare when you want your labourers to harvest resources in enemy POIs. Its hard to believe this is a 1.0 TL:DR -Aggressive enemy respawn -ALL stairs are ramps (if sloped you cliff-climb them) -Stupid AI that keeps running off the ship to their death (Even with no work orders) -Lack of late-game automation. -Awful UI (Overly bloated/multiple different tabs showing same info) -Gear/ Tribal loadouts are implement terribly (why do I need a building taking up space?!?) -Production (Like Rimworld Bills) are poorly implemented - Create queue> try to create order conditions>crafter completes before you finish settings>game deletes queued item. -Surprising lack of build piece shape/variety -Powered mine needs a tribal but is slower than node farming.
Runs good on Steam Deck OLED, but lacks any real controller support making it an absolute nightmare to play, I tried for an hour to get the keys set up correctly to no avail. Until they add support, I can't really recommend this to anyone on deck. With the Deck being available, controller support should be mandatory on games now, there's no real excuse honestly. I requested a refund, maybe I'll buy it again when controller support is added and change my rating.
I really wanted to like this game but i require good controller support so i waited for launch... The added controller support was horrible. You know how in game likes this you have a toolbar and usually the trigger button or one of the face button swings a sword or an axe. Its the start button in this game.... THE START BUTTON. I was still patient after launch because they stated 72 hours after release "A full controller UI overhaul is already in development and is one of the first items on our post-1.0 roadmap. We will share screenshots and specifics soon." Then on 6/5/26 (Weeks after release) a roadmap was released that has controller support coming in Winter 2026. That is not what I would call "first items on our post-1.0 roadmap" with dozens of other items before it. Is the game good or bad ? I don't know cant play. But I do know this the devs lied to us and deprioritized all the people expecting decent controller support. That is enough for me to move to other games that do what they say and care about there word, reputation and quality.
Buggy mess of a game that should stay in EA for quite some time yet
This one bears watching or playing, simple. Tho i will say if your an instant grat sort of player you may be frustrated with crafting times, just roll with it. Combat isnt bad, but this game shines in the massive amount of craftable things, of course the building stuff that we expect such as thatch stone wood etc. But then you see the amount of other stuff, enough to make any builder, (not skyscraper builders or box builders) delight in the planning of large villiages or keeps. Ships on the water and ships that fly, huge mobile sky bases and land based ports. Huge bosses to fight. Im definately glad i got this one, runs decent on low end rigs too. Huge maps, tons of loot and a very satisfying game to play. Take a chance and disregard the minor complaints in the review list, when you realise they are really minor things youll see the true gem that soulmask is.
Its so bang average. Its more of a mobile game glammed up to look great on PC. Combat is meh Complexity is outrageous UI is disgusting Enemies spawn from your shoes Its honestly just dire. Pick up on sale when its free and even then dont play it
