u can fight godlike creatures and go fish in the same game? 10/10
It’s a game with a good concept and an interesting idea for a Sonic game but they executed it poorly which makes me sad. If they had improved the physics made the open world more interesting and developed the combat system and enemies better it would have been a much better game to me. I still recommend this game, but only if you’re willing to play it with mods. If you don’t want to do that, then don’t buy it. great game but rough around the edges impossible to play without mods performance is absolute ♥♥♥♥
To me the pillars of Sonic are speed, reaction and traversal. The pillars of Sonic Frontiers are: ... this is just Breath of the Wild's homework with the name crossed out. Contstantly stops you to do a text 'tutorial' dump, and slow camera pan I love BotW but this feels like a bait and switch.
The most janky open world platformer I have every played. Camera likes to fly everywhere and lock onto everything and the game just feels unpolished. Looks and plays like a tech demo.
ABSOLUTE CINEMA this game is indescribibly peak
that whole game couldve been an email, the same 4 assets pasted across a couple of stock roblox studio terrains, other than the cyberspace levels which are also reused assets just from older in the series, and then all the major boss fights are super sonic fights which are just "press parry at all", not even time it, you can just hold parry forever and it works whenever something connects story was alright i liked sage but also like the rest of the game 40% of it is copy pasted from breath of the wild,
ancient civilization that is more advanced than the current one builds mechs for their higher leaders before they are taken out by a bigger evil and you have to take that out with their help
infinitely better than forces i suppose, there was still some enjoyment to be had here and it never really felt miserable, it was ok the whole way but it didn't really have any heights either since everything is mostly the same assets and blends together and the boss fights are just fine, you mostly parry sprint and spam past them
Yeah I just can't get down with this. Picked it up after playing Sonic x Shadow Generations looking for more of that smooth feeling gameplay. Maybe that kind of experience is in there somewhere, but it's buried under a ♥♥♥♥ ton of pop-in.
