The award-winning series returns as Karl Fairburne fights to uncover Project Kraken in 1944 France. The genre-defining authentic sniping, with enhanced kill cam, has never looked or felt better as you fight across immersive maps to stop the Nazi war machine in its tracks.
🎮 Review Summary
Sniper Elite 5 has one thing going for it: the single-player campaign. If you enjoy stealth, sniping, and exploring large sandbox maps on your own, you'll probably have a decent time. Unfortunately, that's where most of the positives end. The story is incredibly forgettable and feels like nothing more than an excuse to move you from one mission to the next. Once you step outside the campaign, the experience falls apart. Co-op, Invasion Mode, and Multiplayer are flooded with toxic players and cheaters, making it nearly impossible to enjoy the game for long.

🧠 Gameplay & Mechanics
The core sniping mechanics are still excellent. Bullet physics, weapon customization, and the freedom to approach objectives in different ways are what keep the campaign entertaining. However, these strengths are overshadowed by the online experience. Invasion Mode had the potential to be one of the most unique features in the series, but it's ruined by players abusing exploits, cheating, or simply making the mode frustrating rather than fun. Multiplayer suffers from exactly the same issues.

📖 Story & Worldbuilding
The campaign's story is honestly one of the weakest parts of the game. The characters are forgettable, the plot is predictable, and there is very little that keeps you invested between missions. The maps themselves are well designed, but the narrative does almost nothing to support them. It feels like a collection of missions held together by the bare minimum of storytelling.

🎨 Visuals & Art Style
Visually, the game looks great. The environments are detailed, the lighting is solid, and each location has its own atmosphere. The famous X-Ray kill cam is still satisfying to watch, even if it has lost some of its novelty after several games in the series.

🎵 Audio & Music
Weapon sounds are convincing, environmental audio helps with immersion, and the soundtrack does its job without being particularly memorable. Nothing exceptional, but certainly not one of the game's problems. Sadly, everything related to the online experience feels neglected. Co-op, Invasion Mode, and Multiplayer are filled with toxic players and cheaters, turning what should have been the game's biggest selling point into its greatest disappointment. Combined with a bland, forgettable story, it's difficult to recommend unless you can find it at a very steep discount and only care about the single-player experience. ♛ 38/100
Excellent return to form.
