Kampania dobrze wykorzystuje to otoczenie – ruiny, zniszczone budynki i długie ulice zapewniają wiele dobrych pozycji do obserwowania przeciwników i przygotowywania strzałów. Mimo wieku Sniper Elite V2 nadal daje dużo satysfakcji. Dobre snajperstwo, świetny klimat końcówki II wojny światowej i charakterystyczna kamera pocisku sprawiają, że to właśnie tutaj seria naprawdę zaczęła nabierać własnej tożsamości. Bardzo dobra odsłona i wyraźny krok naprzód względem pierwszej części. Zdecydowanie polecam.

After finishing Sniper Elite V2 Remastered, I decided to play the original version to compare both experiences directly. My goal was to understand whether the problems I encountered in the Remastered version were already present in the original, whether they were worse, or whether some of the changes made in the Remaster had actually made the experience worse. The original version is far from perfect. I experienced crashes, and fullscreen causes a particularly annoying problem: if I Alt+Tab out of the game, I can sometimes lose the ability to return to it properly. Even forcing the game into windowed mode did not completely solve the problem, as the game could still prevent me from interacting with other parts of the desktop. These are obvious technical issues for older games, especially when playing on a modern system. I quickly started noticing differences that made me prefer this version. The movement feels more natural and less robotic than in the Remastered version. Visually, I also prefer the original. Despite being the older version, the image looks cleaner to me, while the Remaster does not feel like a significant visual improvement. In fact, after playing both versions, I do not see enough of a graphical difference to justify calling the Remastered version a meaningful upgrade. There are also gameplay differences that I personally prefer in the original. The Focus system from the Remastered version, which adds a red indicator to help show where the shot is going to land, is not present here. I prefer it that way. I do not need that type of assistance while playing a sniper game, especially when I am playing on the highest difficulty. If players want that kind of support, it could exist as an optional accessibility feature, but I would rather calculate the shot myself. The hit registration is also noticeably more consistent in the original. It is not completely flawless, but the situations where shots failed to register were nowhere near as frequent as in the Remastered version. That alone made the shooting feel much less frustrating. Another thing I noticed in the original was how enemies interact with wounded soldiers. When an enemy is left injured on the ground, other enemies can pick him up, carry him to a safer location and attempt to get him back into the fight. I did not notice this happening during my playthrough of the Remastered version. I cannot say whether that mechanic was removed or if I simply never encountered it there, but seeing it in the original was interesting. It is the kind of interaction that is not present in many games and adds something to the behaviour of the enemies. The X-Ray Kill Cam, as in the other Sniper Elite games, is also an interesting mechanic and remains one of the game's more distinctive features. After playing both versions, I would more easily recommend the original over the Remastered version. The original has clear technical problems, including crashes and issues with fullscreen and Alt+Tab, but when it comes to the actual gameplay, I found it more enjoyable. The movement feels better, the visuals look cleaner, the shooting feels more consistent, and the game does not include the Focus assistance that I personally did not need. The Remastered version was supposed to modernise the experience, but in my case, it ended up feeling like a step backwards. The visual improvements are barely noticeable, and the changes made to the gameplay did not improve the experience for me. The original is technically rough and clearly shows its age, but it feels more natural to play and, despite its problems, respects the experience I was expecting from Sniper Elite V2.
Sniper Elite V2 is a great game but was removed from sale because it's superceded by Sniper Elite V2 Remastered. That doesn't stop Rebellion from trying to gouge gamers through a whopping $23 of cosmetic DLC. Greed, greed, greed. If you want to play this, don't, get the remastered version instead.
Recomendo.
