Sniper Elite 2 Remastered has several problems that, in my opinion, cannot simply be justified by its age. The original game was released in 2012, and while the clunky movement and some of its outdated mechanics are understandable, the biggest issues affect the core gameplay. The hit registration is probably the most frustrating one. There were several situations where I aimed directly at an enemy, fired, and watched the bullet pass through the character and hit the wall behind him. Firing again from the exact same position could then register correctly. This is not a matter of wind, distance or bullet drop; the shot simply does not register. In a game built around precision shooting, that becomes a serious problem, especially because a failed shot can immediately alert enemies and ruin a stealth approach. The stealth itself is also quite limited. You have a silenced pistol, can throw rocks to distract enemies and use traps, while some environmental interactions, such as shooting fuel barrels or grenades attached to enemies, add a few interesting possibilities. However, there is not much depth beyond that. You can choose to play stealthily, but the game does not offer much variety in how you approach enemies or interact with the environment. This is why I personally found some of the older World War II Call of Duty missions more immersive in specific stealth situations. Not because Call of Duty is a stealth game, but because some of those missions created situations where infiltration and remaining undetected were part of the experience. Sniper Elite 2 gives the player the option to use stealth, but the mechanics surrounding it feel surprisingly basic, and the AI makes the experience even more inconsistent. I played on Marksman difficulty, but the enemies did not feel smarter or more reactive; they simply dealt more damage. Enemies could spawn extremely close to me, NPCs sometimes bugged into each other, and I also encountered situations where enemies followed my position through walls and fired in my direction despite never actually seeing me. The same lack of consistency appeared with vehicles. During one mission, a Tiger tank instantly locked onto my position and fired in a way that felt more like an automatic targeting system than a tank naturally reacting to the battlefield. There are still some enjoyable mechanics. The X-Ray Kill Cam remains the most distinctive feature of the game, and watching a successful shot travel through the enemy's body is still satisfying. Shooting grenades attached to enemies and using environmental explosions are also good details. However, the main problems affect exactly what Sniper Elite 2 is supposed to do: shooting accurately and approaching situations with stealth. Being an older game explains why some mechanics feel dated, but in 2012, issues such as inconsistent hit registration, limited AI and enemies tracking the player through walls were already difficult to overlook Score: 4/10 (1) Trash(2) Horrible(3) Very Bad(4) Bad(5) Average (6) Fine(7) Good(8) Very Good(9) Great(10) Masterpiece

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Sniper Elite V2 Remastered is exactly what you expect, a polished up version of a 2012 classic that still holds up in the ways that matter most. Line up your shot, hold your breath, squeeze the trigger, and watch that killcam do its thing. Few games nail that satisfying sniper fantasy quite like this one. That said, the AI is a mess. Enemies spot you through solid cover like they've got X-ray vision and the checkpoint system will punish you in ways that feel more cheap than challenging. The clunky enemy placement doesn't help either... bots just standing around waiting to be "activated" breaks any illusion of a living battlefield. The remaster itself is solid for getting the game running cleanly on modern hardware but don't expect Rebellion to have fixed the rough edges. They haven't. The DLC missions are short, forgettable and a reminder that not all bonus content is created equal. This is truly great game held back by design choices that should've been ironed out a decade ago. Grab it on sale and enjoy the killcams, try not to think too hard about the AI. 7/10 A classic worth revisiting, not worth overpaying for.
Это как так можно поступать с нашими дедами, они сражались за Берлин
Ideal for 72 year old with shaky hands and a dim memory of where things like the gold bars and bottles are.
Уже и забыл, насколько эта игра бредовая и кривая. В общем дepьмoвый ленивый ремастер дepьмoвoй игры, который едва ли чем-то отличается от оригинала 2012 года. НЕ стоит покупать даже на распродаже.
really satisfying sniper shooting, and at least for me, challenging but rewarding stealth gameplay. seeing your bullet slow motion shatter a nazi's skull and grey matter shatter will never get old.
Probably the first genuinely enjoyable game of the series, with SE1 in my opinion feeling dated and clumsy, even at release. This V2 revamp brings a fresh sprinkling of modernity, catering for much prettier graphics at 4K, yet retaining the core values of the original release back in 2012. You can see the trace elements in this that became default features within the subsequent games - explosive fuel tanks on vehicles and to name one feature in particular. A pity that the laying of grenade traps on the corpses of enemies only started in SE3 (I believe?) and is obviously missing from here. Does it carry enough weight in 2026 to warrant a purchase? Yes and no. I bought it for absolute peanuts on Loaded and the near 5hrs I put into it have definitely been fun. At full price? I think that's a big ask and would only really appeal to the completionists out there who want to revisit the entire series once more and appreciate the newer technological hardware support. It's a good game overall, but the ropey AI of the enemies really do show their age. Immensely stupid, they do not act in anyway to preserve their own lives and on top of that, have the almost immediate aimbot ability at spotting your from range and laying down very accurate fire. On higher difficulties, this would induce rage quit feelings in a lot of players, but when played on normal, it's nothing to be too concerned with. SE2 paved the way for the much superior SE3, SE4 and SE5 games and for that, I think it's worthy of a mention. Yes, the scenery and textures are quite bland for modern games (there's only so much rubble within the Berlin streets you can play through in one go) and the sound through headphones is a little skewed at times. But to not buy it at the silly price on the other site mentioned, in particular if you're a fan of the series, would be a mistake in my opinion. If you're a casual player with no experience of the Sniper Elite series - I'd skip this and start at SE3 for much more wholesome and complete game experience. Just scrapes in a 7/10 for me - mainly due to the abnormally low purchase price.
While I loved the original version of the game during it's time, I have to say people who don't get nostalgic about this game should pass. I bought it on sale just to see if it had any improvements, but there aren't other than maybe some graphical tweaks. While modern Sniper Elite games (5 and Resistance) are more historically unauthentic with the weapon mods you can make and the various freaky items you can use (impact/sticky grenades being two of them), overall they allow you to kit out for different playstyles much better than 4, 3, and V2. I'm saying this as someone who initially disliked 5 and Resistance because I thought it was getting CoDified with all the weapon mods before I ended up trying stealth and realized you could do it much better with all the new stuff they had in those games. TLDR: If SE V2 doesn't give you feelings of nostalgia, you can pass on it.
