Have sunk 120 hours into this game and all of those hours are thanks to modders after the game is abandoned by the devs. Even coming back to it with the mods, it's just sad knowing the modding community is dragging this corpse of a game around and doing the devs jobs for them.
Man, the core gameplay of this game is so fun, but it's completely empty. It is a full release in name only, If you thought the new Skate game lacked content, you won't find more here, and that's in early access, and free. You have a list of bare bones challenges, and 5 official maps (many of which are boring or outright bad). The rest of the game is just a platform for mods. New features were announced for a 2023 update, which, as of 2025, hasn't materialised. This is early access abandonware masquerading as a full-price, full release. The devs feel content letting the community develop the game for them while they ran off with the money. Don't let the people who swear by the mods fool you, developers like this shouldn't be supported or encouraged, and defending it by pointing to content that the devs had no hand in is just apologia for this scam. The game has some of the most intuitive controls of any skating sim out there, they just feel natural, but because the game has been abandoned, we're stuck with just the basic, and can't do more complex tricks, which can really limit the longevity of the game. If it was cheaper, then maybe that would have been enough, but at this price point, I just can't recommend it, and that's a crying shame.
Standouts: - Each analog stick on the controllers controls the feet Pro's: - skating feels both realistic and arcade-y (mix of Session and Skate) cons: - zero story/challenges/depth - Each "update" is a community made map, with zero addition to any QOL, new game modes, in game stats, etc. - Feels like the dev's post these 'updates' blissfully unaware of all the negative feedback in their comments. - $45cad for this is outrageous for what there is to offer wait for Skate. or go play Session instead
Great game and had lots of potential. It's a shame the developers abandoned the project thinking the core game was finished. It's not finished. Sadly, the only 'updates' this game will get is parks created by players. Maybe one day they will return and finish the game.
"Hey, we don't really develop our game anymore. We're really just interested in spotlighting other peoples custom content because we can't be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to work on the game.....at all" simulator 2025 Literally abandonware, besides the occasional "Look at what a community member made, and not us. We literally only post PR junk. Haven't touched the game in forever" post they do.
5 years and this game still feels like a pizza hut demo disk if it wasnt for the modders game wouldve died within a year easy day just cashed in and said ok were done also what kinda game requires a mod menu just to switch the camera angle haha just like session THIS is a glorifed demo not an actual game
game feels good to play but lack of content and any development at all is more than disappointing. Get session instead. This game is a waste of money and time.
the devs dont care about the game
The gameplay engine underpinning this game is good, but there is no real content here. The game is purely a vessel for mods made by fans. That might be enough for people who just want to skate around, but it isn't for me: I need some kind of mission-based structure that is engaging in order to feel driven to explore the gameplay. The base game (such as it is) includes five maps. There are also 'challenges', which as far as I can tell simply amount to being dropped in the same spot every time, and being asked to do a trick on the piece in front of you. It fulls utterly drab. If you feel like you could spend hours skating around in a well-playing skating game without any gameplay loop or mission system driving you forward, then this game might be for you. For someone like me, who expects at least some degree of structure, this game is very hard to recommend.
The Biggest example of a company going into early access, raking in money from gamers keen to play a long awaited skating game and then never finishing it. This game feels unpolished in so many places and relies on community mods to have any real content, which is barely passable. These devs scammed everyone who bought into the early version and I cannot believe they were allowed to release this as a "finished" product. Basically all of my hours were put in during EA waiting for the game to be built, and it just never happened.
