EVOLVE WITH EACH AGE OR STAND THE TEST OF TIME
Lead your empire through distinct Ages of human history. Across the Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern Ages, choose whether to lead one Time-Tested civilization from start to finish, have it strategically evolve to flourish with a new identity in the next Age, or split the difference through hybridization. As accomplishing scientific, cultural, militaristic, and economic milestones within each Age unlocks advantages in the next, you'll decide how and when your empire's identity and strategy develop.
CHART YOUR OWN PATH TO VICTORY
Shape your empire's unique story by pursuing a wide range of distinct Triumphs, attribute-based objectives that offer a player-driven experience. As each new Age expands the game's scope, it also brings opportunities to borrow elements from other civs, unlock new bonuses, and achieve Victory in myriad new and exciting ways. Order Commanders to move armies as one, engage enemies with revamped combat mechanics, equip swappable leader bonuses across campaigns with Mementos, and much more.
PLAY AS VISIONARY LEADERS OF PROGRESS
Embody illustrious leaders with one of Civilization's most diverse rosters yet, from traditional heads of state known for militaristic might or political prowess to visionaries who made lasting impacts on philosophy, science, human rights, and more. Your chosen leader will endure across the Ages, with a unique ability that can help reinforce or pivot your strategy from one Age into the next. For the first time in franchise history, leader selection is separate from your civilization, giving you the freedom to create all-new strategies by mixing and matching gameplay bonuses.
EXPLORE A WORLD VIVIDLY BROUGHT TO LIFE
Make your mark on a gorgeously detailed world! Your empire comes to life with a diverse range of cultural styles, represented across building architecture and Unit design. Traverse navigable rivers, explore the map's undiscovered reaches, and extend your borders with new Cities or specialized Towns. As your lavishly rendered territory expands, all of your scenic vistas, vibrant metropolises, and fledgling frontier territories will connect seamlessly across the ever-changing landscape.
TEST YOUR STRATEGIC METTLE IN MULTIPLAYER
Compete against other players online and prove your prowess as a great leader.* Multiplayer matches can be epic multi-Age campaigns or take place in a single Age, and cross-play is supported between PC and consoles, so you can play together with friends wherever they are.
*Online play and features (including progression bonuses) require an Internet connection and 2K Account (minimum age varies). Up to five players supported in the Antiquity & Exploration Ages. Up to eight players supported in the Modern Age. Map size restrictions may apply to certain cross-play multiplayer games. Terms apply.

I'm really very sad to have to write a negative review for a game in the Civ series, but even after waiting for some time past the initial release for the reviews to stabilize and some patchwork to be done, I found it low-key appalling. The UI leaves a lot to be desired, it feels out of place and something inspired from the age of Civ III updated in high definition. The UX is equally messy. Instead of starting with a "new to civ 7" type of advisory, you still need to make choices, navigate options, try to puzzle everything together, and later start getting *some* advice. It is really a pity making a new title after so long and actually managing to instantly alienate fans. Good luck to everyone loving it and playing it, I respect you, but from me it's a no.
After a year, I still can't recommend. Over $100 and 300 hours in game, and the game still has numerous bugs and feels now like it's *almost* to the state that it should have been at a year ago. Instead of dropping another $30 DLC for Japan (which absolutely should have been in the base game) they need to fix the problems with the base game.
The new update absolute sucks. The changes make it a completely different game (I liked the OG version). Feels like each age matters less now. Stay away.
I'll agree with many others - the game seems unfinished. There's no consolidated management views - no easy way to look across your cities or your troops. Combat mechanics are very clearly broken and buggy. Leaders and civs are wildly unbalanced, and many of the things that made older Civ games so charming - building the space ship, decorating the throne room, etc - are wholly absent.
Just not what expected, civ 6 was great though, a pitty
This game might be worse than tarkov with the dlc releases. Wasted an additional 60 dollars thinking i'd get all the dlcs.
I really wanted it to be good, it's not, but I wanted it to be.
Too many bugs to list. If you haven't bought the game yet, know you're paying $$$ for a very sloppy beta. It's embarrassing that after more than a year of updates, there are still so many problems. It truly kills the fun when a strategy I've been setting up toward for hours fails because of a bug which was reported over a year ago and still not addressed.
I started playing Sid's Civ back in 1994. I've played every major release of this game and this is by far the worst game of the entire series. I don't know how anyone who ever played these games could possible design and produce this trash. If you love the Civ series, please DO NOT buy this game. It will only make you mad that they screwed it up this badly. Aside from clear graphics, its the worst computer game I've ever played.
Atrocious, amateurish and ahistorical game. Super gamey, unrealistic and unintuitive gameplay. There is no continuity in the game: after an age transition all your technologies and civics vanish. Resources get reshuffled, your city specialists are disabled. Citizens cannot be shuffled around city tiles and are stuck like serfs for the remainder of the game where you initially placed them. Paradoxically, cities grow faster by using gold than food to grow them. Massive historical inaccuracies and made up narratives: the Ming play as a maritime trading superpower, whereas historically they were extreme isolationists and imposed a maritime ban with the rest of the world!
