Ozymandias: Bronze Age Empire Sim

The Bronze age setting is what originally brought me to the game. The clean, fun, simple 4x gameplay with a great UI and feel is what's kept me coming back! The story campaign/tutorial is one of the cleanest introductions to the mechanics of any game I've ever seen, building up the complexity at just the right rate to keep itself fresh but not overwhelming. Being able to change the difficulty by wealth generation, civ choice AND win conditions is a big plus! Being able to go up in difficulty in smaller steps while having great replayability is always a win in my books. Ozymandias is a perfect example of why games don't need complex rules to be fun or deep, the emergent complexity of simple rules is what keeps it fresh and interesting. It's a stellar game for its price point, especially when it goes on sale. Very happy with my purchase and am looking forward to seeing how much I play before I inevitably burn out :)

can't recommend for a steam deck. the game needs a zoom in view for a field and a "normal" font.

If I can't have a remaster of Civilization: Revolution 1&2 on Steam then this is the next best thing. A fun, deep empire builder where you can finish a game within a couple of hours. Exactly what I've been looking for.

Ozymandias is an excellent take on the 4x genre. This game cuts away at the bloat that detracts from the likes of Civilization, resulting in a smoother, quicker, and more immediately rewarding experience. The Good The AI does not pull any punches, it always makes the immediately optimal moves and safe progression. You will be punished for not taking them seriously The base games maps are generally pretty fun Games tend to only last 30-90 minutes, unless you're playing particularly hard settings The bad The UI could use some work No mod support The DLC maps are lackluster, with Africa and Mesoamerica maps being the only ones worth their price Definitely worth full price if you enjoy 4x

In my opinion this is true modern masterpiece of strategy game

A fun little time waster. Don't expect anything close to the depth of civilization. Reminds me of what we used to call a "Beer and Pretzel" wargame. Something that was quick and easy without a lot of complicated rules, but still fun to play. I've spent over a 100 hours on this game. Right now during the steam sale it is $4.49. If you can pick it up for that price it is well worth it.

simple but very enjoyable

Its really simplistic but has all elements you know from a strategy game (except politics). Its not a big deep game but it also doesnt want to be one. Its a nice little game for in between where one match is not longer than 60 to 90 minutes. But even though its simplistic it has alot of content.
