Do I recommend this game? Short answer: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ yes!, It is incredible and I genuinely believe most people would love to immerse themselves in this game. Every single one of the 102 hours I've spent on this game has been during the last month, so you could say this game really hook me in. Long answer: Subnautica is one of the most fun, immerssive and remarkable video games I've ever played, I had no idea what to expect because I never played any survival crafting games before. One of the best things about it is how it creates this environment that completely immerses you in its world, at first it has a very light and fun tone, you land on this beautiful planet, you're surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna everywhere you look and you just have to survive. But that is what makes everything that comes next so cool and freaking terrifying. Once you start adventuring outside the Safe shallows and the Grassy plateau the game becomes less and less safe, and your feelings of unease just gets worse and worse. You're picking up scrap metal and scanning stuff in a sandy area without much flora at all and before you know it a Reaper grabs you and tries to eat you, you manage to stab it with your knife and he drops you but you're shook and you bolt out of there as fast as you can. You proceed to spend the next 10 to 20 hours thinking a Reaper will show up out of nowhere anywhere you go, so you play it safe and avoid dark places that are a bit too deep to feel comfortable. Even without Reapers, the ocean itself is pretty damn terrifying, you're 200-300 meters deep without a single thing in sight except maybe some groups of tiny fish swimming around you, you have no idea where you are, where to go, how deep the ocean floor is, what's waiting for you ANYWHERE in this new and dark environment. The game creates an atmosphere of terror by doing nothing, just leaving you to your own devices in the dark depths of this unknown ocean. At the same time you want to explore, see what else is out there and your sense of exploration, adventure and discovery fight with the dread you feel every time you head in a new direction and go to an unfamiliar place. You eventually start to get to know the game, you start to know what to expect after taking enough risks to familiarize yourself with the different biomes of the game, its different mechanics, the different flora and fauna as well as the story. That alone makes it a remarkable game and a game I will most definitely be replaying in the future, but it doesn't stop there. The game has this really cool way to weave its lore with the fun and terror of exploring the unknown and I have to say I really love what they've done and the voice acting that made all of these different characters you never meet in person come alive in such a vivid way. You want to play a survival game that let's you explore a beautiful, terrifying and atmospheric world then this is it, this game is top tier. The second I upgrade my PC I'm picking up Subnautica 2.
Absolutely loved this game. Even after finishing the story, I still want to come back just to fill every locker with resources, explore every dark corner of the ocean, build a whole underwater megacity, and connect biomes with tunnels like I’m some kind of aquatic city planner. The atmosphere, exploration, and sense of discovery are amazing. 10/10, would get lost in the deep again.
Thalassophobia Simulator If you've not heard of this game by now you must have been living under a rock, as this game defined the underwater survival genre — and it did it horrifyingly so. This game is an absolute work of art. It has spectacular visuals and an abundance of replayability. It certainly does not disappoint; from its captivating exploration to its below-the-surface horror aspects, it is just outright amazing. The progression of equipment and upgrades is nice, but it can be slightly tedious if you're missing one particular material and have to swim all the way back to where you came from to get it. The atmosphere on Planet 4546b is just perfect. From the safe shallows to... well, not the safe shallows, there is beauty around every corner. The sound design is phenomenal and the commentary is unforgettable. Literally unforgettable. Like, it's stuck in my head. I can hear it in my sleep. Help me. As for the story? There isn't much direction for progression, but do get ready to be invested. It's great. If I were the protagonist I would've peed my pants so many times, but you wouldn't have known this because I would be underwater. A really fun and beautiful game, I would highly recommend you play it if you haven't! The experience of this game is worth full price, but honestly wait until it goes on offer as it does so frequently. Beware the Reaper Leviathan. If you can hear it, it has already seen you. 9.2/10
You swim in da ocean, you kill da fish, you get eaten by da big fish, you kill da big fish, you die of thirst. Is good game

Exceptional game! Extremely addictive, almost impossible to put down. It will make you deprive yourself of sleep until you finish it
I have no idea what to do in the game. I don't want to dig in the wiki to find out. Nor I want to read all that in-game long text bricks to find a little clue of where to look around mindlessly. All the technology, but not a single map unlocks to make sense of the world a little. Everyone talking about some place names but I have no idea where those names are coming from. The game has no maps. I guess everyone just using an online map to get around until they memorize the places. Also, the map seems small when I think about it but I just can't find the materials or the recipes. All I am getting is just the first two hours of the game repeating. I found an alien place, explored it but that lead me nowhere. Definitely not a game for me.
Finally overcame my fear and finished the game on my third try. All I can tell is that I regret nothing. This game is so good looking and satysfying to play even after all this years. Not to mention that sound design is a masterpiece. Even now that I've finished it, I think I'll keep coming back to my save just to gather some more resources, expand my base and just explore. It's just that good.
