About
Explore nature as a lynx and raise your cubs in the brutal, but beautiful, tundra.
Be on your guard, because you are both predator and prey. Feed your cubs and keep them safe and enjoy those precious moments of peace and tranquillity whenever you can. But also remember that your own survival is the only thing that will guarantee theirs.
Shelter 2 features more elaborate gameplay features than its predecessor and includes gameplay features such as stamina, movements, jumps and a variety of prey to hunt. Besides hunting skills, there are also maternal features such as calling the cubs closer, sniffing out prey, drinking water from rivers and lifting and carrying your cubs from harm’s way.
A vast wilderness awaits
The environments in Shelter 2 are significantly much larger than those in its predecessor, offering more freedom than ever before and allowing you to find favourite spots in which to return. In the game world, weather and seasons change - harsh winters and blooming summers await you. The music is created by Retro Family, awarded for their work on the Pid Soundtrack, and the visuals have been reinvented by adding dense atmosphere and lighting to the patterned graphical art style.

Cute, but controls and camera sucks :( I wish there would be more for the story.
Shelter 2 is a short but genuinely emotional experience that surprised me with how attached I got to my lynx cubs — when one of them started wailing from hunger or got taken by a predator, it actually hurt. The stylized visuals and haunting music give the game a unique atmosphere that few games manage to pull off, and the open-world hunting loop is satisfying enough to carry you through the 1-2 hour runtime. That said, be aware this is very light on mechanics: hunting is simple, threats are rare, and the massive collectable system feels completely disconnected from the core loop of keeping your family alive. If you go in expecting a deep survival game you'll be disappointed, but if you want a brief, artistic, emotionally resonant experience about motherhood and the wild, it delivers — just wait for a sale.
it could just be a glitch because my computer is very old, but the game gave me very little instructions. when i was in the start, i didnt know how to move. it would have been more helpful if it told me how to move better. other than that, its awesome! there are other lacks of intructions in other stuff tho. still, not very much of a deal breaker for me!
Una experiencia de juego diferente basada en la ternura. Visualmente espectacular
No sé ni que decir, ame cada pixel de este juego
good game. the plot is certainly short and not everything is clear, but the gameplay is quite interesting. there are a lot of bugs in the game, but it doesn’t bother gameplay so much
5/10
Very cute meow meooow meow
Spent $6, $8 with the mountain DLC, and I feel alright about it. No way this game is worth $25 though. There is very, very little to do- you have kits, hunt about 5 different prey species until they grow, then the game ends. That's it. There are collectibles scattered around the map I guess. With the mountain DLC it gets a little more interesting but it's still a very barren game. Other species don't really do anything except spawn and run away from you and the world doesn't feel very alive. You'll experience everything the game has to offer within about an hour. If it's on sale and you (like my daughter and I) *really* enjoy games about nature/playing as an animal then I think it's a decent choice. At full price it's absolutely a waste of money. Oh and if you're using an Xbox controller you'll get stuck at the beginning when it prompts you to hold left shift to sprint- you can fix this by rebinding the control to something else until you're past the "tutorial" screen. There are posts about this from like 8 years ago but it was never fixed.
