It's a slick and stylish game. It has a more overtly cinematic presentation than the typical From Software Souls-game. But this one isn't necessarily a typical Souls-like, even though it does offer a high-level challenge in its gameplay and enemy variety. It's not a collectathon type of game, nor one where the character's skills & weapons are truly modular. It's more strictly player-skill based than Dark Souls or even Nioh, but it's not as bloated with its overall scope.
Unfortunately, with Activision holding the license, it will never really be available on a deep-sale discount. But it is a worthwhile purchase, and a unique action adventure game that delivers satisfying gameplay and an interesting story. It's not as polarizing as a Dark Souls game neither, having a sensible grounding in eastern aesthetics and blending samurai/ninjutsu action into a pretty heady mix.
Temper you expectations, and it could be a very good experience. But be aware: the austerity of the aesthetics, the gameplay, and the cryptic delivery of the story and lore may not suit everyone. I was expecting great things from this, and it did take about 2-3hours of adjusting to it to really get hooked in.
