Half the time you are in need of more bullets and another half fighting with jammed guns. you cannot run and apply medkit and there's too much walking for my taste. There's a need for stamina and you have to drink ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ energy drinks to restore it and in the next 5 seconds your stamina is gone and you need it to JUMP as well. Most people who love open world and realistic games might love it but it's not my cup of tea.
The game is 40% fun, 60% frustrating. I'd still continue to play because I really love the gunfights, but I have to push through so much agonizing content in game. Let's see; — AI is like Superman. They detect you really fast even if you stealth. They have x-ray vision. They can scent you like houndogs. They will shoot through walls. They have autobot headshot aim and will shoot you perfectly 100m away with a shotgun. — Game is so buggy. I lost my marbles trying to find artifacts, only to find out they can clip through walls/terrains. Sometimes important stuff you need won't spawn or clip through anything, you will even have a hard time getting items on boxes because the collision shoots stuff to the metaverse. — Sooooo many visual glitches. You'll see your screen flickering very often. You'll see things become blurry af. You'll see lighting twitching like mad. — Stare into the abyss on daylight and watch yourself get headshotted by an enemy npc in the dark bcz your flashlight feels like a mini-penlight. There's something fundamentally wrong with the darkness in game, it takes so long for your screen to adjust to the brightness of light and dark. Also, NPCs can accurately shoot and see you in the dark without any flashlights on. — This game is an unoptimized hell. You'll see memory leaks left and right, it'll randomly play at 5fps in your playthrough and you have to restart to fix it. Even DLSS can't save their game's mess. Honestly, even if an AI fps generator can't provide the game even an ounce of fps, you know it's bad. I still have a ton of hours to go through in this game, but it already has so maany issues in early game. Those stuff I listed apparently gets worse in later stages, especially on performance in populated areas so goodluck to me. To anyone who wishes to play and buy this, do it with precaution. The game can still be fun tbh it really did have potential, but the negatives can outweigh the good. This game really needs to be patched up bcz it feels like a deep laceration treated by bandages. Until then, just wait and see if the devs will live through their promises or fix the core issues of the game. Hence, I can't really recommend the game for its price when the older Stalkers and the modded ones feel, and play better. P.S. I recommend an indie game called Road to Vostok. It performs better and also has intense gunfights, it's insane how that game is developed by one person. It looks really beautiful too. It's also 1/4th of the price of Stalker 2.
Performance and visuals are just not where they should be, I can barely break 40fps in some areas, and I'm lucky to get 60fps anywhere on the map, and yet foliage looks blurry and messy, reflections don't really work outside of a few areas, and nearly all light sources just look wrong. Of course I'll edit this if any major visual and performance updates release, I know an engine update is planned, but a new DLC is releasing and there's still zero news about the engine update
Monolitha, Colonitha, Stalker 2… greatitha
Great game made better with mods. I never understand the use of weapons sway especially in a FPS game. “Last of Us” was terrible too. Message to game directors please take out weapon sway on pc, because it takes away instead add any theatrical value, makes for a frustrating and an annoying experience. I get gun recoil but guns sway far too long give gun back to the player soon as the recoil ends. Guns start moving in circles uncontrollable guns make for a bad experience. I played the first games too way back when they came out. Love the series. With all the money “success of the game “ made can’t wait for the next game. Please make mutants doable like in metro games. Make the guns more like they are in battlefield 2042 and prior games call of duty style guns where the players controls the guns and not the game. Story: A+++ World building: A++ took for ever to get to a place. Side stories: A++ Lore: A+++ Controls:C AI difficulty: F some mutants just brutal even some areas to traverse meant multiple deaths. Takes away from the fun and makes for a frustrating experience. I know all of the stalker games have similar difficulty, but needs to be more fun; a bullet to the head should be an instant kill and mutants should stagger. Even with minor flaws and extremely difficult mutants and some anal areas to traverse still was a great game made better with mods. I can’t wait for the next game. Also need better ammunition drops. Thank for all the work you guys put into it it really showed beyond the minor issues it was a well worth experience. Spoiler everyone is in the construct. Cool ending! Up there with half life 2.
