About
Runeveil is a roguelike deckbuilder where your strategy isn't just about what you play, but how you sequence it. Step into the shoes of powerful 7 Elemental Wizards and travel through various Arenas.
Your goal: Beat the 7 Sin Kings in the 7 Unique Arena, and survive the escalating chaos.
Unlike traditional card games, where you play one card at a time, in Runeveil, you play the whole hand, where the sequence of the runes is the most important.
Combat is a puzzle of destruction. Place your runes in a specific order, and watch them trigger for a blasting combo!
It’s not just about runes. Collect ancient Artifacts, use magical Potions, and apply Enchantments to your runes. Stack multipliers, trigger infinite loops, and create a build so powerful that even the Arena Kings tremble.
You can see your fight rewards from the beginning. Start your strategy to build the ultimate deck from the start!
4 playable wizards (Nature, Fire, Water, Arcane)
3 Sin Kings with 7 ascensions (Sloth, Lust, Greed)
40+ enemies to be fought
200+ fully implemented runes
100+ artifacts
50+ potions, scrolls, enhancements
7 Unique Arenas: Each arena features its own kingdom, distinct enemy types, mini-bosses, and a challenging final Boss.
Ascension System: Beating a trial is just the beginning. Unlock higher Ascension levels for each Arena to face difficult modifiers and stronger enemies.
Unlockables: Improve your collection and discover new runes and artifacts with every single run.
Deep Progression:
Wizard Evolution: Level up your specific elemental wizard to unlock unique skill trees.
Global Meta-Progression: Earn experience across all runs to unlock a global talent tree that benefits all your characters.
Sequence-Based Combat: A fresh take on deckbuilding where placement and order define your damage output.
Magical Arsenal: Play as 7 different wizards, each with unique mechanics and playstyles.
Relic Hunting: Hundreds of artifacts and items that fundamentally change how your runes interact.
Roguelite Depth: No two runs are the same. Procedurally generated trials ensure endless challenges.
High-Stakes Trials: Conquer 7 increasingly difficult trials to prove your worth in the Arena.

Lacks too much polish for my taste. Fonts are difficult to read and it feels slow to gather the necessary information each turn. Feels like it has a lot of potential.
First two mages were fun, didn't enjoy the second two. Didn't get my money's worth for 3.7 hours of play. Wish I could refund because it didn't feel very replayable.
As a weirdo whose favorite subject was mathematics, I am EXTREMELY happy. I've been playing Runeveil since the demo days, and the Early Access has only made me more excited for the full launch. There is a lot of content both for competitive players and more casuals. Whether you're looking for a challenge or a relaxed experience, you can find the difficulty that suits you. Also the art is very cute. Everytime nature wizard takes a hit it hurts my soul... Great deck-builder!
Very little content for now, but a pretty fun, well executed concept. Ill definitely play a lot more after a couple patches.
If you like slay the spire type of game this game is a pretty good alternative. It has different mechanics. I like the ordering part where you can combo your resources. It's fun.
In short: Runeveil is a polished, creative, and highly replayable deckbuilder with satisfying mechanics, great build variety, and developers who clearly care about the game and its community. Runeveil is a genuinely impressive deckbuilder, especially for an Early Access game. The different characters and deck types feel distinct, and there are plenty of interesting synergies to experiment with. I especially enjoy the card-ordering mechanic, as it adds an extra layer of strategy and makes every turn feel more engaging. The game gives you a lot of freedom when building your deck. You can remove cards you no longer need, focus on specific combinations, or mix different deck types during a run to create some really fun and unexpected builds. It feels balanced enough that many different strategies can work, which makes each run feel fresh. There are still a few minor bugs and some mechanics may take a run or two to fully understand, but the developers are very active, responsive, and clearly care about player feedback. The game already feels surprisingly polished and offers great value for its price. If you enjoy roguelike deckbuilders such as Slay the Spire, but want something with its own identity and mechanics, Runeveil is definitely worth trying. I started playing just to check it out and ended up losing track of time. I’m really excited to see how it grows.
I'm not much of a card game person but this game ROCKS!!!
While there's nothing fundamentally wrong with Runeveil, i do not enjoy it. - I do not like the concept of "just" arranging your draws in a timeline. - I feel that there is too little control (you can switch single cards a certain number per fight. Other than that, your possibilities are fixed). - From what i experienced, there is too little variety, and card rewards always repeated themselves (which might be an EA problem). - You can only skip card rewards a certain number of times. After that, you need to pick a card after a fight. - And i dont like the art style.
