Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 3 → 2.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

So 73 hours in an I have completed the main story and Married Matsuri and had a daughter with her and named her Kimiko... Here is my thoughts on the game... A LOT BETTER THAN RUNE FACTORY 5! and I mean a lot, they improved on so much and added so much more, from 4 villages you can upgrade and build your own little town like things or farms on the plots, build whatever you like, then you have all the islands in the sky to explore as well as all the open world areas in each village. There is lots of weapons and such to get and I mean a lot, better than 5, just gutted there is a lack of customization, you can't change your characters looks at all bar put a head piece on and an arm piece, which sucks a bit, BUT IT'S JAPAN THEME! that is what I loved about this the whole Japan vibes with this game. All I have left to do is the contests and then the system that lets you marry every character once for the achievements, but that's meh, happy with Matsuri, and you can also have a second child as well, if I do decide to do a few more bits I will have a son so then I have a son and daughter in the game, but there isn't much left to do bar that then contests and getting villages to max level of 10. Only rife I have with the game is monster catching it was better in Rune Factory 5, this time you have barns that take up a lot of room, you got lots of plot land to place them not too bad, but each barn can have 4 small creatures/monsters or two large ones, I do have 9 barns and 3 large barns in one village, then 10 small barns in another, then 5 large ones in the third and 4 large and 5 small barns in the fourth, so it's not to bad, but I feel the management in Rune Factory 5 was better a lot better for this but that was the only good thing to the 5th game not much good things on that, but this one I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This review was made after obtaining all achievements. Rune Factory Guardians, what can i say about this? Compared to the previous game, RF5, its a "half-step up", it does some things alright, and others that really ruined my mood for the game. I'm going to start with the bad points first, since people tend to post the good and people skim that text and move on without getting the full info. Note that these are my opinions on the matter, and can vary from player to player. CONS; Locked Romance routes: There is a good choice of men and women to date, all of which have their own reasons in life, to get better and to overcome. HOWEVER, there are 2 partners around midway in the story (one male and one female) that you cannot date unless you hand over more money for their dlc. This leaves a huge sour taste in my mouth, even more so when normal conversations with them are like normal npcs you can have normal relationships with, yet when you do partner cooking with them, they give off the hearts that clearly show they ARE datable. This clearly shows they were to be partners in the game from the very beginning, and they decided to lock them behind a paywall. THIS IS JUST FLAT OUT GREED AND SHOULD NOT BE ACCEPTED IN THIS STYLE OF GAME!!! Have everyone that can be a romance route be there from the very start, not locked behind peoples wallets/purses. Village Building: The main meat of the game is restoring the villages, so clearing fields of corruption, building homes for villagers, and producing food to use for cooking or selling. My main gripe however is when every piece has a stat tied to it. Each piece you put down can give you stats (limited to one of said item) towards your avatar, so when it eventually comes close to the endgame, and you get some of the better decorations, they are big and take up alot of space. So it makes sense to flood an entire field where you can find space with the best decorations that give the most stats possible, and takes away the farming part of the game. I liked it more where your stats were tied to your actions you did alot of, and your own gear you make or find in the fields. The Villagers: Never have i been frustrated with dealing with villagers. Each individual villager has pros and cons tied to them, so they can be good at one thing, and bad at others. When it comes to farming mostly however, they can help grow more crops or even give you better quality foods/seeds. What they are terrible at however, is their job at farmers. It takes them forever to plant any seed, which you have no control over what they plant, and those seeds can be planted in awkward places like in the middle of the field rather than end to end. They take forever to harvest, they take forever to water, at best, they are only best if they are in small fields, and i mean REALLY small farming fields. Honestly, you are better off doing the farming yourself rather than let the villagers take control of it. Giant crops: Naturally, getting a giant crop can net you alot of money to go towards upgrades and crafts, the only thing i don't like however, is when you gather a giant crop, you do not gain any seeds in return. This can be irritating if you only had for example one seed, hoping to get a refund of it after harvesting, and its all going to waste over a giant crop that is slightly worth more money than a normal version. COULD BE BETTER; Skill Trees: For a first, Guardians uses skill trees rather than earning stats through repeated actions. It was an interesting choice, and i decided to give it the benefit of the doubt, til i realised you get two different types of EXP. One for the job/action you do, and another which is all tallied up at the end of a day. The former is used only in that specific action/job, while the other can be used in all the skill trees. I could see what they was aiming for, but i feel like it could get abused so much that you could level one skill tree without the need of doing such actions that its for. If they decide to bring skill trees back in Rune Factory 6, i would hope they remove the all-purpose EXP, so they make players engage with the activity more to level it up. Additionally, i would also prefer that people can pick and mix what skills they could obtain, rather than having to follow a skill route just to reach a skill people would make most use of. PROS: Sacred Treasures: I actually enjoyed using the tools they give you in the game, as it came with multiple effects. It served not only as a attacking tool to fight monsters, but they also had added benefits both for exploring and tending to your farms. I highly doubt such tools/skills would make a return in later Rune Factory games, but it was a fun and interesting experience. Looking back at this, it felt like more negatives than positives, so why did i recommend this game? Honestly, for what troubles it brings, its your standard pen on paper Rune Factory story. The people are interesting, farming and combat is decent, overall, its very mid, is the best way i can describe it. To the point where i miss the old Rune Factory games, that i might just return to, i had more fun with the past games than this. This recommendation in my opinion would be more middle of the world, not a yes, but not a no either. It does a few things that are interesting that i could get behind, but it does many that i flat out do not like or agree with. To the devs that made this game, use this game as a lesson and a stepping stone, learn from mistakes, and DO NOT lock romance routes under a paywall. Do better. Make Rune Factory the game that we know and love, and not a form of greed.
Way better than RF5 and i thought RF5 was decent. Wish there was more depth to it but overall I'm happy with my purchase.
It's ok. I like older Rune Factory 1-4 better. This one does not have the charm of older games.
If I could sum it up, I would say I liked Guardians of Azuma by happenstance. It really doesn't scratch the itch of a Rune Factory game, and village building isn't a replacement for farming. It's best enjoyed as a 90s anime, down to the story, characters, music, and voice direction. It has all the fixtures: Annoying animal companion, god being
a childish bureaucrat holed up in her office in heaven
, material that a parent and their kids could watch together. All the good stuff. Probably not in someone's top 5 anime of all time, but I could see almost anyone binging every episode. Notably, like a 90s anime if it wasn't censored for the west. It doesn't have anything graphic or sexual, but it also doesn't hold back on themes. For instance, a storyline
of someone who did horrible things, is revived without their consent, and they genuinely struggle with wanting to be alive at all after everything they've done.
I would say it's approached a lot of difficult subjects really well, and I love that it felt like it respected its audience. Think if someone wrote a book taking place in the Rune Factory setting, I would read it and probably enjoy it, which is about how I feel now seeing an anime of it.
Pros

Good voice casting for its scope and intent
Overall competent combat
Addictive gameplay loop with minimal resistance between the player and fun
Incredible value in terms of potential hours
A lot of freedom in playstyle
Excellent story
As per Rune Factory 5, a fully biromantic cast, and there's a character for everyone

Mixed Thoughts

Not really Rune Factory in terms of gameplay, but the series could learn from it
Village building is competently implemented, but tying it to power hurts it more than helps it IMO
Why are there so, so, so many cooking recipes no one will touch

Cons

Hard mode is too easy for most of the game
Crafting is boring, especially compared to the mainline series
Day 1 DLC

Summary
As a game: 7/10 As a Rune factory game: 2/10 As an anime: 8/10
Went into this game with low expectations and now it’s one of my all-time favorites! It’s fun, laid-back, and a really good city manager game. Definitely recommend it if you like slice of life type anime with those things in mind!
As a returning rf fan. This was just a huge disappointment. First I hate the campy tone they started doing with 4. RF Used to feel like home. Those vibes are gone. No houses, NPCs don't have Real schedules, instead you make them and they don't matter because their side npcs. Named Npcs exist for you. Sure they wander around but its all shallow. Theres barely any harvest moon mechanics, and what's there is shallow and boring. The localization is ass. Usually you can get away by changing the voice but the writing is that crappy gen z ♥♥♥♥ that makes you wish AI did the translation. The characters are a step in a better direction art wise. But personality wise just the same basic anime tropes. Except with no family, no responsibilities and no friends outside the player character. Leaving them all stale and bland. A lot of my complaints I can admit come from the fact that the last RF game I enjoyed was 3. The tone has changed and it lost a lot of charm for me. Pre 4 RF was a bit melancholy and ethereal. It had a lot of happy emotions but with that calm somber tone. A lot more earthy tones and colors. Felt really beautiful. But since 4 its bright colors, stupid quips, and high energy hyper activity and it honestly kills a lot of the charm for me.
Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma - 100% Completion Review Score: 8/10 Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma is the latest in Rune Factory franchise focusing on a Japanese folk lore theme in the land of Azuma, after fully completing this game i'll give some Pro's, Neutrals and Con's. PRO'S: -Character Creator is a choice between male and female, both are stylish, well designed and voice acted -Can choose between English or the original Japanese language -Good voice acting, both the English and Japanese voice acting was quite good -Good environments, huge improvement over the last Rune Factory game -Good graphics, visually quite a good looking game -Good story with plenty of twists and turns and not too predictable, also finally answers why Earthmates in these games all have amnesia -Huge amount of romance options, more than any other Rune Factory game, can all be romanced by both male and female protagonists and are well designed and written -Has marriage system with children as is tradition with these games -Full city building, you have 4 villages, each with it's own season, spring, summer, fall and winter that you can build up with tons of buildings and decorations, some building have uses like shops and others give passive stats -Farming simplified from past games, 1 plot of seeds can grow multiple vegetables allowing you to grow more with much smaller fields, no need for massive fields like past games -Logging simplified, tree's won't be cut down when you harvest wood and can be harvested again the next day -Relationships simplified, unlike previous games where you had to increase your relationship with everyone in town in this game you only have to increase your relationship or bond for people you want to date or be friends with, so no more going around talking to everyone every single day lol -Villagers can help you with multiple different tasks such as farming, logging, mining, shop keeping, fishing etc., each have their own stats and passive abilities, you can evict them if you don't like them and get a new one the next day, they also have to be paid daily wages, though this is relatively easy -Good combat, with tons of different weapons and God Weapons to use to play however you wish, you can also create a party from villages and romancable characters, each have their own weapons, abilities and class such as attacker, defender, healer support, buffer and debuffer -Good exploration with tons of treasures and secrets to find -Good gameplay that focuses on farming and restoring the land of Azuma by purification, similar to Okami if you ever played that -Good amount of quests such as story quests, bonding quests, world quests and repeatable task quests for resources -Tons of crafting from buildings, decorations, food, weapons and accessories -Storage improved, massive amount of storage for both player inventory and home shrine chest and you can store anything regardless of type -Fruit tree's improved, can acquire their seed when you restore them out in the world and can be grown in any seasonal village but they grow better in some over others -1 free DLC, Sakuna DLC, which is a protagonist from another game who will join your fall village -Perfect performance, no lag, glitches, crashes or bugs of any kind NEUTRAL'S: "No Score Change From These" -Difficulty: Casual, virtually no challenge, even on the hardest difficulty -Game length for full 100% completion: 40-60 hours -CON'S: -Managing 4 whole villages can be bit tedious until you have enough villagers to fully automate everything, if it had just been one village that would have been perfect -Pilika and Cuilang romances locked behind the Digital Deluxe DLC -Excess xp points from completed skill tree's don't go to free xp once completed which is a bit unfortunate Overall Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma is a massive step forward for the franchise with a ton of QOL improvements in nearly every aspect from past iterations of the franchise, it's easily one of the best in the franchise and if your someone who likes Rune Factory, Romance, City Building or Fantasy RPG's in general then this game is definitely worth it even at full price, but as always, It's.. Up.. To.. You and i'll leave it at that. (^_−).
This game is ok, def one of their best games but it just feels too hand holdy and the mechanics are far too easy for what I was expecting from the trailers and reviews. I don't recommend this for people looking for a deep life sim with interesting mechanics as this is as generic and bare bones as it gets. Art style is great, VA and characters are solid enough but those two areas arent enough when the gameplay is so meh.
