9/10 Compared to RF4, the story is simpler, the crafting is simpler, ost is still godly and the romance is a bit more straightforward... but by god, the characters in this game are so unhinged and freaky that it becomes incredibly charming, It is wholesome af and I really enjoy it. I also ended up 100% it because the game is addicting as hell.
please dont let this series die

I love this game. It's a bit simpler than Rune Factory 4 but the story and cast is fantastic. I played probably hundreds of hours on the original DS release and the special edition is ALMOST as good. I highly recommend adding the original voice lines mod from the steam workshop cause when they redid the voice acting for the little snippets of text it was nothing like the original games. Poor Raven and Daria were hit the hardest. (I tested and that mod doesn't affect achievements incase you were worried about that) For those who have never played a Rune Factory game, it's kind of like Stardew Valley in that the base game is a farming sim but there's so much more to do. There's so many skills (it's the main gimmick of the Rune Factory series) where as you level up a specific weapon, your ability to find hidden loot, or even your ability to sleep, your character grows stronger so it's not all about combat to level you up and get stronger. You play as a male antagonist who fell from the sky and has amnesia (a trope for all Rune Factory games at this point) and has the ability to transform into a Wooly (this world's monster version of a sheep) Sadly there's no gender option in this game, you play as a male and the story require you to romance one of the 11 bachelorettes. All of them are pretty unique from each other at least. If you know what you're doing, you can be done with the main story in under an ingame year (at the time of writing this review and 22 hours in, I'm on summer 24 and on the 4th of 5 dungeons). There's also difficulty options if you think the game's going too fast but in my opinion it just makes the enemies tankier and makes you grind more, doesn't actually add mechanics or anything. There is a randomized dungeon in the postgame which features bosses from the two previous RF games as well as bosses from this entry. There are different difficulty levels you can pick where they have specific bosses at the end of them as well as a super hard randomized dungeon (I think it's level 220 but I would recommend being 10-20 levels above the level of the dungeons when you attempt them the enemies are stronger than their level would suggest)
So this may be on me because I 100% did not read the details on this after coming from later editions of Rune Factory but I didn't realize when they went back and updated this game that they didn't update the love interests so you can romance them regardless of gender. And I really do not want to play as a boy in order to romance who I want. I also felt the graphics and tool sensitivity was updated enough to make it worth playing this years after release when there are plenty of farming sims with fighting nowadays.
i have no idea why nobody talks about this game it is honestly incredible, characters, art and the music are really surprisingly great and everything about this game oozes charm and a fun quirkyness that no other farming sim has. the amount of little details and things you can do are crazy especially for when this game originally released - i don't really want to spoil anything so if you are looking for a stardew valley like or what have you look no further this game is extremely great just try it
为童年买单吧,要是BGM也是原来的就更好了
