Really fun, played the main story on my ps4 and just finished undead nightmare on my pc, highkey recommend to people who enjoyed RDR2, the gameplay and controls are similar but a few things have changed so keep that in mind.

Played RDR2 back on PS4 years ago and thought Arthur’s story was the peak of gaming. I actually owned a PS3 back in the day but somehow never played the original, so picking this up on PC was my first real playthrough. Going backward in release order turns out to be an incredible way to experience this saga. Knowing Arthur's sacrifices and seeing what John is fighting for makes hunting down Williamson, Javier, and Dutch hit twice as hard. After the slow-burn simulation of RDR2, RDR1 feels like a fast-paced classic Spaghetti Western. John moves faster, horse handling is snappy, and the Euphoria ragdoll physics are amazingly satisfying. There are no chores, gun-cleaning, or core meters to manage, so you just ride and shoot. The PC port runs like absolute butter with high framerates and clean visuals. Includes Undead Nightmare which is still one of the best DLCs ever made. 8/10 Worth every penny.
Worth every cent. RDR1 doesn't need to be RDR2 to be a masterpiece. The story, the map and the game's unique charm set it apart. It was absolutely the right choice to remaster RDR1 over a remake since it would have changed what made this game so special. Runs really well even at 4K and the graphics still hold up (stunning graphics). Shootouts are a blast, the fast-paced action and kill effects are so darn satisfying. The guns in gold especially look great. Map design, gunplay, atmosphere, art style, colour palette, physics, animations, soundtrack, characters, AI difficulty and voice acting really make this game a true masterpiece. All of this really makes this game what it is. One of Rockstar's finest western shooters. The multiplayer for this game was also legendary on consoles (which can you still experience through either emulation or consoles). John is also such a badass in this game. Highley recommended and a must have.
