I love games like this and Per aspera is one of my favourites. Highly recommended.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

its an addictive terraforming game with a compelling audio drama, Its great , Id recommend this for a patent, methodical player who likes graphs and good voice acting.
Definitely play it, but some patches would be good to have :) Story wise it's awesome Mechanics are good, but sometimes feel unfinished UI could be better There are storyline breaks that feel like bugs (but you just need to wait long enough) I had to refer to steam discussion to understand few mechanics (could be better described in game) What exactly were some of my painpoints: Often times you don't know how to do something (like force population to move to a new, bigger habitat), or can't find why something don't work (I was not able to make cyanobacteria or first plants grow outside of building range, I've even reached reached 30C, there could be info in building panel). Manually upgrading roads feels like a chore. Special views could be improved (Like temperature view showing what is exact temperature under pointer, now it's all shades of blue to red. Some overviews are hard to understand when first approached). Also I've got to a point mid-game when no new directive appeared (I felt that there should be one constantly?). Hyperloop is described poorly.
Really nice game, UX could use a bit more work. Better filters for the buildings list etc., filters at all for the resource scanner, just stuff that gives you a bit more of an overview, you're managing a planet-sized colony, after all. Building towards the end gets a bit tedious, would be nice to have a building that is power, hub and maintenance at once. But overall I really enjoyed it, it's different and addictive.
very nice
A very fancy and detailed interactive Mars globe including things like crater names and various robot/expedition wrecks. The feeling of accomplishment when you recognize the effect your terraforming activities have on Mars for the first time (like the faint tint of the first clouds on Mars or tiny bodies of water emerging in some of the craters) is really great. The game itself is... OK. Not great not terrible. The planetary transformation is a slow process and the game doesn't offer much variety in what to do in the meantime. It's not that big of a problem when you are an astronomy nerd, but it might be otherwise.
Per Aspera is a really great way to get into this genre. I haven't played too many city builder / resource management games in the past, but this is definitely the one I've enjoyed most of those that I've tried so far. Especially on lower difficulties, it's very forgiving to new players, and does a great job ramping up the complexity over time. It also does a great job of making the terraforming process feel realistic, complex, and monumental, while also feeling achievable as you work towards distinct goals. It also pairs well with the story, which is minimal but interesting enough to keep the game engaging. The story is interspersed at regular intervals to keep the game from dragging, while also spread out enough that it doesn't take away from the city building. The game flow also does a great job of having enough to do so as to not get bored, but without requiring constant micromanagement. Sometimes I might want to prioritize construction of a building or work on scrapping and rebuilding in line with a new technological paradigm, but I can also go off and work on laying out new districts or manage my special projects up in orbit without worrying about my city burning down. Further, speaking of technology advancements, both terraforming and other tech advancements can be very impactful, more than just numbers on a screen. As I raise the water table, for example, I found that my district built in the lowlands to capitalize on a number of useful resources and research sites was now being flooded. There is now an ocean there. Likewise, with the average temperature now above freezing, my entire ice-based food production and colony system is having to be switched over to one based on liquid water, made harder by the rapidly rising sea levels. Overall, it's a really great way to take a step into this genre. It's story helps maintain engagement outside of the sandbox element, it's not unrealistically difficult, and the whole game really feels like its evolving throughout play.
