В целом игра мне понравилась, хотя были недочеты и глюки.
The game paly was fine. But the game was far too short.
cool
This game is basically "Gone home" on alot of drugs. So much drugs.
Pros: - Good graphics and art direction - Quality voice acting - Fun story - Achievements are reasonable - Not too long Cons: - Some visual glitches - Movement can be kind of janky when stepping up ledges - Save system is auto-save only - No dialog skip feature Old Gods Rising is a well-made walking simulator that I enjoyed my time with. If you played other cosmic horror-themed games like Moons of Madness or Call of Cthulhu then you will likely enjoy this. Despite the subject matter, I'd say OGR is more comedy than horror. The humor is a bit reference-heavy for my taste, but isn't overbearing. The achievements in this game are not absurd and instead act as a guide for you to experience all the game has to offer, which is how it should be. This prompts comment on the biggest problem this game has...the save system. I had to replay the game as it prevents you from backtracking at a certain undisclosed point and you'll almost certainly be missing a good amount of optional content when you cross that line. Unfortunately, replaying the game is a bit of a chore as there is much dialog and no way to skip it. I recommend playing the game once and then coming back through while listening to a podcast to mop up. Also, check out the last game news update for instructions on starting the post-game mode...I had a good time with it even though the dessert gameplay is very different from the main course.
Very enjoyable walking simulator. The story is well told and interesting, and it encourages exploration as there's always something new to uncover round the next corner. The environments are excellently done, with lots of hidden detail and achievements to collect. The dialogue is realistic and well voice acted. It took me I'd say around 3 hours to pretty much 100% it (ignore the playtime as I had it sitting idle for a while) and it felt the perfect length. It's bizarre how this isn't better known or championed. Very much recommended.

Какой-то бред.
Okay, I really liked this game xD. At first, I was feeling it was just ok; I couldn't help myself but to compare it to other great walking simulators, like Firewatch and Conarium. I kept feeling that it was sub-par when compared to those, which is fine, those are incredible, I wasn't expecting something like that, but I kept asking myself what was it that those did so well, and that this one failed to. But the ending was really great, and I think a lot of stuff falls into place afterwards. It's its own thing, it definitely didn't try to be actual lovecraftian horror like Conarium, or a realistic and serious game like Firewatch, it tried to be a bit lovecraftian, with a bit of comedy, and a lot of exploration. And for what it tried to do, I think it totally succeeded. I think fans of exploration games will probably have a great time with this. It could have used more puzzles, but it wasn't its goal, and I'm fine with that. It was also pretty well optimized, I didn't encounter any relevant bugs while I played it (maybe some textures took a while to load here and there, and I got stuck once on terrain, but there's an autosave feature that's very well implemented, it saves really really often, and you can even choose when to do it by crossing doors and stuff, so it wasn't a problem at all). It has very good voice acting too, and the comedic elements got me to laugh many many times (especially the dialog). It doesn't have the atmosphere of a lovecraftian game, but it's fine, it is its own thing, and I praise it for that. Gameplay was ok, one of the most annoying things a walking sim like this can do is having your character be as slow as a granny when walking, and as fast as an average walking person when running; luckily, this wasn't the case here, you walk and run at normal speeds, and that's a relief. If you explore thoroughly, you can get all the achievements in one playthrough (I did) without any walkthroughs or guides, and if you don't, a quick second playthrough should get you to find what you missed fairly quickly (and you don't need to find everything again, just the stuff you missed). There are other little details implemented to ensure you have a smooth ride, and don't need to backtrack a lot or anything like that (the only nitpick I have on this is that a portable map, like a brochure, would have been really helpful for those of us who like to explore a lot). On top of it all, there's even an after-credits minigame, kind of like an fps, and if you complete it, you'll get an extra piece of dialog that can help you piece everything together, if you weren't sure what to make of the ending (which is a bit ambiguous, but in a good, totally intentional way). TL,DR: it's pretty good, especially the ending, and everyone who enjoys exploration games, especially walking sims, should have a fun time with this one.
Good game! Really appreciate the dichotomy between deception and reality. I disagree with people who complain about the ending. Maybe a little abrupt, but let me put it this way: I've been way more dissatisfied by much bigger games from much bigger developers. Love to see what they do next!
