About
Neo Cab is a visual novel about emotional survival in an automated world.
You play as Lina, the last human cab driver. It’s your very first night driving the lonely streets of Los Ojos, and your best friend has just disappeared.
Is she in grave danger... or just the flakiest friend ever? Either way, now you need to find cash, a place to crash, and some answers.
Your only leads are the diverse cast of characters you pick up in your cab, but getting them to open up isn’t always easy. The anarchist punks don’t trust you, the corporate yuppies don’t see you, and the cops won’t leave you alone. But if you can balance honesty, empathy, and your own emotional health, you might just learn their secrets.
Can you survive late-stage capitalism long enough to save your friend?
STAY ON THE ROAD. STAY ON THE SEARCH. STAY HUMAN.
Every pax is a puzzle. Whether you like them or not, everyone has their own story to tell.

Lina’s best course for survival is to keep driving. Piece together what has happened to Savy as you help Lina navigate the city grid.

Each passenger interaction will affect Lina’s mood; as her emotions become more intense, some choices will be taken away, while other choices will be unlocked.

Neo Cab features a branching narrative with pax stories written by Leigh Alexander, Kim Belair, Bruno Dias, Duncan Fyfe, Paula Rogers & Robin Sloan.
Featuring an original soundtrack by Obfusc (Monument Valley, House of Cards).

Reviews
The main gameplay elements of this visual novel involve a simple map system where you have to make enough money to keep your cab running, a "review" system where you must stay above a rating threshold or be fired, and the most interesting part of the game - the Feelgrid. I was unsure about this visual novel from the preview, but it is definitely worth your time. the main story is an average corporate neo-dystopia, but the side stories and supporting characters are were this game really shines. I was disappointed by lack of voice acting, but the script and branching decisions won me over. the dialog choices are made slightly more complicated because of an emotional gameplay feature, where the character can choose certain options or are locked out of others based on their emotional state (which is displayed on the Feelgrid). This visual novel is definitely worth checking out! there is almost no gameplay, but a good story to read!
Woke slop. Unlikable and unrelatable characters. A really boring story. Typical of Sweet Baby Inc.
Recommended on sale, not at full price. I enjoyed Neo Cab, mostly for its atmosphere, passenger conversations, and its clever use of Lina’s emotional state as a dialogue mechanic. The game is at its best when it is about the small humiliations and compromises of gig work: managing ratings, money, lodging, and your own mood while pretending to be fine for strangers. The larger story worked less well for me.
Lina comes to Los Ojos depending on Savy for a place to stay, and Savy immediately disappears, leaving her supposedly best friend stranded with no home, no friends, and no support. That is such awful behavior that
I had trouble investing in the relationship the game clearly wanted me to care about.
Unless Savy had been seriously injured or literally unable to make contact, I just could not buy the emotional premise.
So, mixed feelings. I liked the ride, but not enough that I’d want to have paid full fare.
Completed this game as part of a group event, the story was fine.. the game was pretty simple. It had the makings of something that could have kept me engaged throughout, however the story fell flat and the choices lead to many similar results. Replaying to get missing acheivements was boring given the lack of alternate options and the mood gatekeeping was frustrating. The game itself was pretty, and as a visual story goes I had no issues aside from some continuity things like passengers entering the car while it's moving, or a choice misalignment from past chioces. Ultimately, if the team works on their story writing I tihnk the next iteration could be great, keep trying.. this just wasn't enough for me.
It's a nice and somewhat relaxing experience, it makes me feel like I know how to hold a conversation. The butch was hot. If only cars were real... I am the woker.
I have pretty mixed feelings about this game. I really enjoy cyberpunk and futuristic settings, and the game does capture that atmosphere at times. However, I didn’t fully connect with its visual style. The gameplay mainly revolves around dialogue choices with the passengers you pick up in your taxi. Some characters are well written and intriguing, while others feel flat and less engaging. The main story and theme is interesting enough to keep you going, even if it becomes somewhat predictable as it unfolds. On top of that, your choices don’t always feel impactful, which can be a bit disappointing. In the end, it’s not a bad game, but it’s hard for me to fully recommend it.
So interesting but then you make it impossible to get the good ending without looking up a guide or just brute forcing the correct responses. This doesn't make me want to play the game again it just makes me disappointed with the design.
Kanoa Ranks: 8.5/10 Achievements 100%: 7 Hours more than i expected! great visual novel with surprisingly great graphics & choice system. it reminds me of nosedive from black mirror. keep your uber rating up & try to solve a mystery. multiple endings & fun achievements. a hidden gem if you're a fan of this genre or the studio. definitely a meaningful critique on AI, tech & the future of cybersecurity. definitely worth it on sale!
I went into this game expecting something similar to Night Call but with a cyberpunk setting, which on paper sounds like something I'd absolutely love. Unfortunately, this is not that at all. It's not a bad game, but it's not a particularly good one either. If Steam had a neutral recommendation option, that's what I'd choose. Since it doesn't, this ends up as Not Recommended. My biggest complaint is I absolutely hated being presented with conversation choices only to be locked out of them because the main character has the impulse control of a child. If the developers wanted to tell a fixed story that's fine, but don't present dialogue options that create the illusion of roleplaying when choices not only don't matter but often don't even actually exist. Instead of playing a game and shaping its story, it felt more like watching a mediocre movie. On top of that, the story is incredibly linear and nothing you say or do until the very end really matters at all. The story itself is okay, but it's a fairly generic cyberpunk tale with no nuance or depth to it. The plot is lazy and predictable, and very few characters are likeable or memorable. Again, not terrible, but nothing special either. Visually, the game has a distinctive art style that remains consistent throughout, and the soundtrack does its job well enough. I don't have any real complaints about the presentation. It also played well with only one minor bug that received texts would occasionally all appear at once, requiring me to scroll up to read them in order. It was insignificant and didn't really affect the overall experience. In the end, I think this game just wasn't for me. I really couldn't get into the story, and with a visual novel that's pretty much 90% of the game. Maybe I would have connected with it more when I was younger and angstier, but at this point in my life I found it more frustrating than engaging.
