About

2064: Read Only Memories is a cyberpunk point-and-click adventure set in the colorful future metropolis of Neo-San Francisco. Meet a huge cast of fascinating characters, solve a far-reaching mystery, and think carefully about your choices — you never know how they will affect this dynamic, branching narrative further down the line.

The world is changing.
Genetic alteration of humans is now commonplace, with many choosing to radically alter their bodies to express their individuality. Virtual intelligences called ROMs (Relationship and Organizational Managers), created as simple digital assistants, are exerting greater control over people's lives. Some are terrified by this rapid change, and they are willing to go to extreme lengths to prevent it.

A lost ROM named Turing breaks into the apartment of a struggling journalist to ask for help. They claim to be the first sapient machine — not a simulation of life but a genuinely self-aware artificial being — and the technical genius who created them has gone missing. Can you unravel the shocking conspiracy that threatens to rock an entire society? Or will the darkness that lies behind the bright neon lights of Neo-SF consume you?

Old-school, cutting-edge — Classic point-and-click adventuring inspired by the likes of Gabriel Knight and Snatcher is melded with modern branching storytelling that delves into identity, individuality, and what it means to be human.
People of the future - Get to know a diverse cross-section of Neo-SF's population, brought to life by some of the best voice talent working in games today, including Melissa Hutchison and Dave Fennoy (The Walking Dead), Erin Yvette (Oxenfree), Austin Creed (WWE's Xavier Woods), and SungWon Cho (ProZD).
High tech nostalgia — The city of Neo-San Francisco is rendered in beautiful pixel art, and your adventure is accompanied by a catchy lo-fi electronic synth soundtrack.
Solve the mystery — Over ten hours of adventure across exploration, dynamic branching conversations, multiple endings, and plenty of challenges to overcome.
The complete edition — Packed with years of improvements and additions including new characters and voice performers, additional facial animations, Japanese language support, and the "Endless Christmas" extended epilogue that lets you hang out with your favorite Neo-SF locals.

As a fan of Snatcher, which this game clearly takes inspiration from, I really wanted to like this game. But it tries way too hard to railroad you into situations where it can preach at you and justify the noxious behavior of its characters. No matter which pronouns you pick, you're treated as if you're a basic cishet male. This game would have benefited from making the protagonist an actual character that's kind of a loser much like Gillian Seed is portrayed as, rather than making it an insert of the player. I'm not here to be clobbered over the head with my own progressive values. I'm both the target audience for this game and not at the same time, and the dissonance was enough to make me give up on it after it called me a knuckle-dragging ignorant ♥♥♥♥-lord because I called out Jess' behavior.
I went into this expecting a simple retro point & click. What I got was a surprisingly thoughtful cyberpunk story with strong characters and real thematic weight. Yes, gameplay-wise it’s closer to a visual novel with light point & click elements. If you’re expecting heavy puzzle design or complex mechanics, this isn’t that kind of game. It’s more about dialogue, atmosphere, and choices than mechanical challenge. But the writing carries it. The world feels alive, the social commentary feels intentional (not preachy), and the dynamic between the protagonist and Turing was genuinely engaging, especially when I decided to roleplay some tension. The character interactions are where the game shines. It’s also worth noting: only around 44% of players even got the early Prologue achievement. That’s a shame, because this is absolutely a game that rewards sticking with it. If you enjoy: * Story-driven experiences * Cyberpunk settings * Character-focused narratives * Retro pixel art style Then this is worth your time. I had a genuinely good time with it, and I’ll definitely check out the other game set in this universe.
I got berated and attacked by a militant transhumanist furry. Later, I was lectured by a woman with a beard. Peak 20-teens.
Wow! This had been in my library for about 8 years, and I finally ended up playing it. The story was so engaging, and I loved the music
This game had a lot going for it. I liked Wilty, I liked the spoiled milk, and I liked a lot of the general themes of the game and a lot of the overall storyline. On the other hand, this game was politically charged in a way that undermined a lot of the interesting plot points in the world that they had created. I also didn't like going through the game and getting to the end and having the game glitch out so to deprive me of the single-play-through achievement the first time I attempted it. I also felt like there were a lot of questions that were never answered, no matter which ending I got. A lot to like, but I don't have any desire to ever play it again. 4/10.
Great plot, great characters and great soundtrack!!
(game not complete at 4.3 hours on time of review, part of my review all my games effort) (short version) Game dropped at 4.3 hours due to an issue that I knew would cause me to quit, and was careful until now to avoid, but just happened. The game's save area has "load" as it's primary option. With no auto save I just had 2.3 hours of gameplay evaporate. Game is a visual novel with good music $10 is too much for what you get. (long version) I agree with other posts wishing there was a neutral button for games. Ultimately the straw that broke the camel's back on this one is the fact that it costs $10. A visual novel that has good gameplay, and fully voiced interactions (for the most part). Achievements in this game are very telling as you can see this game gets dropped often just after the 2nd chapter. The good: The music is great, honestly one of the things that kept me going. The pixel art is also really nice to look at, as are some of the interactions you have with NPCs. The bad: Oh my god, really your load button is your PRIMARY option in the save screen? Are you trolling your players, or just that inconsiderate to not include auto-save with that as a function? I saw that when I started and thought "oh crap I have to be very careful when I save, because I'm going to accidently load after a long game play instead of save and it'll piss me off." That's where my quit moment happened. I played for 2 hours+ and went to save, forgetting that the load option was the primary option, and without a "Are you sure you want to load?" safety prompt (though it has this for saving -_-) 2+ hours of gameplay with heavy dialogue evaporated into the ether. Additionally, the lack of immersion with other NPC's essentially making them less than chat GPT to talk with makes them boring. I was blown away that you have an interaction with a character in the game, and after you bamboozle them that's it, interaction over, next scene. This essentially turns the game into a comic with extra steps. If I want to read a manga or a comic I'll do that without the possibility of loading over my save file... Lastly $10 is absolutely not the right price, nothing is overly unique with this game it's a visual novel with some good music and nice pixel art. I'd not pay more than $5-7.
A really cute and charming game. I made it all the way to the final chapter but never actually finished it. Every now and then I tell myself I’ll go back and finally beat it, but I always end up getting lazy. Still, it’s one of those feel good games that sticks with you. Even after all these years, I still find myself thinking about it from time to time.
