Absolute gabage game with terrible design choices. Zero meta progression other than useless additional skill unlocks. Tiny, minuscule environments with way too many mobs spawning resulting in constantly being stuck in a corner. Two out of the three characters are absolutely useless and would need to be reworked. Most skills you unlock are worse than the base skills you start with and your relics barely interact with them. Overall this game is a mix of mechanics that does not work, its very slow and tedious with a huge lack viable skills. Most of the time you're running around dodging and not killing anything, and if you don't draw your blink or your dumb useless garlic, you're SOL. The second boss is a timed "scroller" where enemies spawn out of screen. Be weary of reviews with less than 3 hours. I would not recommend this to anyone, not even people I dislike. EDIT: Big surprise, this turd of a game is abandoned.
i'm sure i'm the only person ever to call this game "a combination of superhot and vampire survivors"
I can't recommend it in it's current state. The idea is pretty good, but two out of three characters are just unfun and balance is all over the place.
The game has some bugs that make certain combos not work, especially with the second and third characters. I really want to play it more, but I don't trust it in its current state. Maybe it will be improved with updates.
Moon Watch, developed by Jaspel and published by Pretty Soon, is an inventive fusion of bullet-hell chaos and deckbuilding strategy that manages to carve out a unique identity in a crowded roguelike landscape. Released in early access in late 2024, the game’s standout feature is its ability to let players stop time at will, a mechanic that dramatically shifts the typical frenetic pace of bullet-hell games into something far more tactical and deliberate. Instead of simply relying on twitch reflexes to dodge overwhelming enemy fire, players can pause the action, plan their moves carefully, and unleash coordinated attacks. This blend of precision and strategy elevates Moon Watch beyond traditional genre boundaries and provides a refreshing experience for fans of both intense action and thoughtful gameplay. Set in a surreal moon-based environment, Moon Watch casts players as a vampire hunter disguised as a nun, armed with cutting-edge technology to halt time and dispatch hordes of vampires, ghouls, and other supernatural foes. The premise itself is quirky and intriguing, mixing gothic themes with sci-fi elements in a way that feels distinct and original. The narrative is deliberately minimalistic, allowing gameplay and mechanics to take center stage. While this may disappoint those looking for a rich story, it suits the game’s focus on skill, tactics, and replayability, creating an atmosphere that’s more about mastering challenges than unraveling lore. At its core, Moon Watch integrates deckbuilding mechanics that reward strategic thinking and adaptability. As players progress through procedurally generated levels, they collect cards and relics that grant new abilities, buffs, or combos, enabling them to customize their playstyle and experiment with different tactics. This layer of progression adds meaningful variety to each run, encouraging players to rethink their approach and adapt to evolving enemy patterns. Multiple game modes further enhance replay value, from the classic run-and-fight experience to Horde and Wave modes that test endurance and efficiency. An Infinite Loop mode offers an endless challenge, pushing players to survive increasingly difficult waves for higher rewards and bragging rights. Visually, Moon Watch embraces a distinctive and stylized aesthetic that balances charm with clarity. The character designs are quirky yet memorable, and the environments, while not overly complex, are rich enough to convey the eerie lunar setting. The game’s art style has a certain crispness that helps players track fast-moving projectiles and enemies during intense encounters. Complementing the visuals is a fitting soundtrack and sound design that heighten immersion without overwhelming the senses. This cohesive presentation reinforces the game’s identity and supports the gameplay experience effectively. The reception of Moon Watch has been largely positive, with players praising the innovative time-stop mechanic and the depth offered by its deckbuilding system. The combination of methodical planning and fast-paced action provides a satisfying balance that appeals to a wide range of players, from hardcore bullet-hell veterans to those seeking a more measured, strategic challenge. However, some players have noted that the sparse narrative and relatively minimal world-building might leave those craving a strong story wanting more. Still, the game’s core strengths in mechanics and design make it a compelling choice for fans of roguelikes and strategy games alike. In summary, Moon Watch stands out as a bold and engaging title that pushes the boundaries of its genre by merging bullet-hell intensity with deckbuilding strategy and innovative time manipulation. Its clever mechanics, distinctive setting, and replayability make it a rewarding experience for players who enjoy both tactical planning and adrenaline-fueled action. While it may not satisfy players seeking deep storytelling, its gameplay depth and unique approach ensure that Moon Watch is a memorable and worthwhile addition to any gamer’s library. Rating: 7/10
A decent amount of content here, for Early Access. Everything works pretty well so far. Maybe a few balance issues, bu nothing that breaks the game. Reccommend.

I have very quickly fallen madly in love with this game!! The combination of action roguelike & strategy that needs to be played almost like a turn-by-turn game is just so mind-blowingly entertaining! Early access is going very well in my opinion, and I cannot wait for more ability cards and character classes to be added. Some new map layouts and level types would be awesome, too!!
