Pretty fun game, worth buying during a discount.
Yes, Heroes Wanted is worth 99 pennies. The game is quite simple, yet offers a generous amount of strategy. The runs can be a bit on the long side of 90-120 minutes, unless you are just mindlessly placing heroes. I haven't found the three classes to be differentiating enough to matter much. Lots of unit and relic unlocks and the progression is reasonable. It is definitely fun.

Play Time: 50hours, realistically 45 hours. Achievements: 50 out of 50, in game 144 out of 144 Cards Mastered: 93% 312/337 Date/Version: April 6th 2026 Rating: 7 out of 10 Heroes Wanted a deckbuilder, card game, similar to that of any other deck builder gamem. You have 3 “unique” characters with different in game stats, and a few different abilities that cost mana. Build your deck fight enemies, encounter limited events, but enjoy yourself and don't stress. There are several unique builds, and some cards are far stronger than others. They game has several great mechanics to it. (1) 3 different elements, a 4th that your characters can't have. (2) card element combos based on potentially 3 unique elements, or 3 of the same. Some cards will change up this dynamic and so will a few items. (3) unique trinkets and unique equipment. The trinkets will add passives to your team. MASS MAJORITY of these are beneficial. In this game you'll travel down just a few unique paths. These paths may have different events, or trials (increased difficulty encounters). You can thin out your deck, add cards to your deck, and more importantly you don't have to take anything. Each hero starts with their own “unique” deck, their similar but you'll notice the difference. Cards can be enchanted +1 level, combined, and cards max out +3. You'll have to combine two +2 to reach a +3 card. But if you go to an event where you can combine 3 cards at once you can take 3 level 1 cards and combine them into the level 3 version of their card. Your card inventory is increased by unlocking ingame achievements. There's a variety of difficulties, multiple endings, and practically no story. The achievements were fun to get, a few I had to grind out but majority of them you'll obtain via just playing the game. I would say it takes roughly 35-45hours to 100% achievement this game. Overall a solid game, I enjoyed my experience. Thank you. PROS: Unique Characters Unique Team Combos that work Level difficulty adjustment Unique endings Simplistic yet, enjoyable to find those broken combos. All positive passives Unique equipment NEUTRAL: Final boss mechanic Get the game when it's on sale. CONS:
Heroes Wanted is a deck-building roguelike developed and published by Gameplete that delivers a refreshing spin on the genre by combining tactical card battles with elemental strategy and poker-inspired mechanics. Rather than focusing purely on collecting increasingly powerful cards, the game challenges players to carefully assemble teams of heroes whose abilities complement one another through positioning, elemental affinities, and specialized combinations. This design creates a combat system that rewards thoughtful planning over brute force, making each encounter feel like a strategic puzzle instead of a routine exchange of attacks. The core gameplay revolves around recruiting heroes, constructing an efficient deck, and adapting to the unpredictable nature of procedurally generated adventures. Every run introduces new opportunities to acquire heroes, equipment, relics, and consumable items that can dramatically alter the direction of a campaign. Heroes belong to different elemental types, and understanding how these elements interact becomes just as important as choosing which cards to play. On top of that, the poker-inspired mechanics encourage players to create combinations such as matching sets and sequences, adding another layer of tactical depth that distinguishes the game from many traditional deck-building roguelikes. Customization plays a major role in maintaining the game's replay value. Hundreds of hero cards, numerous artifacts, and a wide assortment of equipment allow players to experiment with vastly different strategies across multiple runs. Some builds focus on overwhelming offensive power, while others emphasize defensive synergy, elemental reactions, or carefully timed ability chains. Because each expedition offers randomized rewards and branching decisions, no two playthroughs unfold exactly the same. The need to constantly adapt to available resources keeps the experience engaging and encourages players to discover creative combinations they may not have considered before. Heroes Wanted also succeeds in making its layered mechanics approachable. The basic rules are easy enough for newcomers to understand, but mastering the interaction between hero placement, elemental advantages, equipment bonuses, and card combinations requires practice and experimentation. As players become more familiar with these systems, the strategic possibilities expand significantly, making later runs increasingly satisfying. The gradual learning curve ensures that progression feels rewarding rather than overwhelming, giving players room to improve with every failed or successful adventure. The presentation complements the gameplay with colorful fantasy-themed artwork and a clean user interface that prioritizes readability. Hero illustrations are distinct enough to give each character personality, while visual effects remain clear during combat without becoming distracting. Menus are well organized, making it relatively easy to manage growing collections of heroes, artifacts, and equipment even as the complexity of each run increases. Although the visuals do not aim for cutting-edge realism, they effectively support the game's strategic focus while maintaining an appealing and lively atmosphere. Replayability is easily one of the game's strongest features. Randomized encounters, varied enemy compositions, unlockable content, and countless deck-building possibilities encourage players to return for repeated attempts. Each failed run provides valuable lessons that influence future strategies, while successful runs often inspire players to explore entirely different combinations of heroes and relics. This constant sense of experimentation gives the game lasting appeal and helps prevent the experience from becoming repetitive. The game is not entirely without flaws. Since progression relies heavily on randomized rewards, some runs can feel more favorable than others depending on the cards, equipment, and artifacts that become available. Players who prefer complete control over their builds may occasionally find luck influencing their overall success. Additionally, the growing number of mechanics can require some patience before everything fully clicks, especially for newcomers unfamiliar with modern deck-building roguelikes. However, these issues are relatively minor compared to the depth and flexibility the game ultimately provides. Heroes Wanted stands out as an enjoyable and well-designed strategy game that successfully blends roguelike progression with inventive deck-building mechanics. Its emphasis on elemental interactions, creative card combinations, and meaningful customization gives every playthrough a unique identity while providing enough depth to satisfy players who enjoy careful planning and experimentation. Although randomness occasionally introduces uneven difficulty, the strong tactical gameplay, excellent replay value, and rewarding progression make it a worthwhile experience for fans of strategic card games and roguelikes alike. O jogo é bom, mas tem MUITO bug. Já tive que desistir de uma campanha, mais de uma vez, porque o jogo fechava sozinho.
