Look.. elsewhere for a grind. This used to be multiplayer, now it's not. Guess what remained? The ability to buy card decks in an in game store with real money. Overall Review: DEATH BY SINGLEPLAYER MICRO-TRANSACTIONS... Absolutely not.
Monster rubs
Intro I'm a big TCG/CCG fan but I'll have to rate this game as barely neutral and you'll see why. So the story is nothing special. I managed to clear more than half of the areas so I came near to the end I believe however I can't bother to go onward.Gamepaly becomes so tedius, boring and repetitive. The game deicdes at one point to ramp difficulty up and it gets harder and way more grindy from that point onward. Cards,Art and rubs Card art is weird as it varies a lot. In some cases it's good while in other it looks like it was made in MS Paint. You have a lot of cards available and you can "evolve" them twice which is nice variety. You evolve them by rubbing the monster girls (card art) on their sensitive soft spots. No doubt any man of culture will know where these are located. Now imagine you buy 10 packs (in each are three cards) and you have to rub all of those three times to evolve them into final form. Yeah no, thanks.Seeing how this was made for Vita it makes sense but this becomes a nightmare on a pc. You will literally move your mouse around the pad like a maniac while making monkey noises. It's a stupid gimmick to begin with I mean imagine if Kaiba rubbed three big bad blue dragons to fuse them into an Ultimate. Characters and story Predictable, plain and boring. Classic annoying tropes e.g. your main character is naive, clueless kind-hearted moron. Ca$h Shop For a bad vita port with singleplayer you also have a cash shop included but to be fair if you do manage to beat the game you unlock a booster which only costs 1 gold while in Vita it doesnt. I guess that's some sort of compensation because multiplayer was cut. Battle and 3D models There are so many different monster girls yet the 3d models which you summon them are the same no matter the form. If you have around 400+ cards you have perhaps 15-20 3D models or so when the card is summoned on a field. The battle is decided by a coin toss and there is zero advantage for the player who goes second. No bonus card draw, no bonus mana, no bonus monster summoning..nothing! Pros: ✅ Many cards to collect ✅ Uncensored ✅ Fun for a bit then it gets old Cons: ❌No multiplayer ❌Silly rubbing mode ❌Lack of variety for 3D models ❌Story and characters are basic ❌ Ca$h shop in a singleplayer game ❌ Not all cards are included some can be only obtained by hacking Personal score: ★★★☆☆ Final words: I never thought I'd recommend it but save yourself a ton of unnecessary grind, rubs and....just play Shadowverse. No, seriously, you have all the waifus there along with multiplayer, more cards with amazing art and frequent updates.
Everything about this game is tedious. - Early game is tedious because currency earnings are slow. - Upgrading a card is also tedious. Would've been better to have a quick upgrade system for cards you've already upgraded. - Late game is tedious because the AI is a boring opponent. - Even the clear rewards are tedious because there's no quick way to open so many card packs
Somebody should really steal this game's mechanics and make a servicable game out of it, because it's actually pretty engaging.
《Monster Monpiece》

A Surprisingly Deep Card Battler with Charm
Monster Monpiece is a card-battling RPG that blends strategic depth with a lighthearted, anime-inspired aesthetic. While its infamous "Rub System" initially drew attention (and controversy), the game offers far more than its risqué gimmick suggests. Beneath the fan service lies a well-crafted tactical experience with engaging mechanics, a vibrant art style, and a surprising amount of replayability. A Solid Card-Battling Foundation At its core, Monster Monpiece is a strategic hybrid of deck-building and tower defense. Players summon monster girls onto a gridded battlefield, positioning melee, ranged, healer, and buffer units to outmaneuver opponents and destroy their base. The system is easy to learn but rewards careful planning—chaining cards of the same color grants bonuses, while fusing units of the same type creates powerhouse hybrids. The AI provides a fair challenge, and the sheer variety of cards (each with unique stats and skills) encourages experimentation. Building the perfect deck is addictive, especially when hunting for rare cards through booster packs earned in battles or found on the world map. Visuals and Presentation The game’s artwork is a standout, featuring beautifully illustrated monster girls designed by a roster of talented artists. While the 3D chibi models in battles lack variety, the card art itself is expressive and full of personality. The visual novel-style storytelling keeps the pacing brisk, with fully voiced Japanese dialogue adding charm to the lighthearted (if predictable) story of friendship and adventure. That said, the world map feels bland, and the UI can be clunky at times. The lack of distinct battle animations for different units is a missed opportunity, but the core gameplay’s strength makes up for these shortcomings. The Rub System: A Quirky Distraction Yes, Monster Monpiece includes the much-discussed "First Crush Rub" mode, where players "power up" cards by interacting with them in suggestive ways. While undeniably gimmicky, it’s entirely optional for progression—skipping it won’t hinder your ability to enjoy the game. At worst, it’s an odd inclusion; at best, it’s a harmless (if eyebrow-raising) diversion. Final Verdict Monster Monpiece is far more than its titillating premise suggests. It’s a legitimately fun card battler with deep mechanics, charming presentation, and plenty of content for deck-building enthusiasts. While the fan service won’t appeal to everyone, those who can look past it—or embrace it with a sense of humor—will find a surprisingly polished and addictive strategy game. Score: 7.5/10 Pros: - Engaging card-battling mechanics - Gorgeous card artwork - Addictive deck-building and strategy - Lighthearted, fully voiced story Cons: - Rub System feels unnecessary - Dated world map design - Lack of unit variety in battles If you’re a fan of card games or anime-style RPGs, Monster Monpiece is worth a try—just maybe play it in the privacy of your own home.
