Do not buy Millenia. I had very few expectations going in - I had seen the graphics, but nothing else. I have played other 4x games, and while I can hardly say I'm good, I normally have a lot of fun. Millenia is not fun. I have never played a 4X game that is slower, where the turns drag so much. Nothing here is new or unique enough to justify playing. You might be thinking "Oh, it's fine, they'll fix it with DLC, like other games". This is not true. Unless the DLC remakes the game from the ground up, it cannot fix this. The best compliment I can give to Millennia is that it's name is very appropriate on two levels: First, it's how long a full playthrough of the game feels. Secondly, the turn of the Millenia is when I would have thought this game was released if I'd been asked to guess. TLDR: If you have 40 hours and literally nothing else going on in your life - Still don't play Millennia. There are really good games out there which don't take a thousand years to cross a forest.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

tres bien
We are sorry to post a negative review abut this genre of simulations, but were very disappointed with this one. It contains some interesting concepts, but fails to remain rewarding. The overall graphical presentation is generally poor, and the user interface very difficult to read, with very small fonts. The physical map features are very uninspiring. Most of all, the game lacks the enticement for returning for "one more turn".
super
A worthy contender to the Civilization franchise, however: *the game stutters from mid-game onwards. *it could do with some QoL: as you build more units, you will be spending an enourmous amount of time managing them: when you order a unit to go somewhere, you have to confirm that order every single turn. So when you order 30 units to go on a 10-turn journey, that becomes old quick. *the variant ages are an exciting addition to the game and offers more replayability. However, some variant ages leave out essential resources that will almost break the game. The game is fundementally good, but the performance issues, lack of QoL and some balancing is holding it back from me being able to actually finishing the game before seriously being tired of it.
This game might have rivalled the Civ franchise. If it wasn't so unskillfully made.
