So this was an interesting story in that it completely drew my attention in the last 2-3 chapters. Honestly, the story was a bit hard to follow and really struggled to keep my interest prior to this point. I will say that I wasn't really a fan of how a simple choice that didn't seem even relevant or clear could easily lock you out of certain paths all together. 7/10
I got sucked into this game big time- it is highly recommended! Although the story is contained for the most part within one town, the many areas and constant excitement make it feel like a vast world ripe for exploring. There are constant twists and turns, and I found myself often wondering which direction different choices would lead. I have now finished the game twice and had two quite different experiences- they are plenty of ways to go through this game. I don't have many downsides to speak of- although romance is most definitely not the focus of this game. There are only 3 choices, romantic moments seems few and far between, and it was surprisingly easy to jump in/out of a romantic pairing accidentally. Sometimes comforting a friend is simply a nice gesture, but other times it ends up in bed with one another- oops! In the entire game I only spotted a handful of spelling/grammatical errors- truly impressive for a piece this size. There were a few inconsistencies where a choice or situation I hadn't been in was referenced, but these were also few and far between. The main goal of saving the town is not overly easy to achieve, and there are plenty of ways to fail. But it is also not a challenging game that leaves the player frustrated. It is a wonderful mix of challenge and success and leaves the player ready and excited for another play-through when the credits roll. All-in-all a delightful story and a highly recommended game!
I absolutely loved the story and when I reached the end of my first play launched it to see how different choices would lead me down different paths. Really loved the environment the game took place in, great length, very well written. Looking forward to playing it again!
This is the best Choice Of game I've played. It has great atmosphere, and tons of routes available. I recommend it!
An experiment in mind-reading of the author; logic takes a back space to guessing what the writer believed would be the best solution. Beaten thrice; nearly all endings bad.
This is a long and heavy one, I only recommended it if you have played another more light Choice Of Game novel. Some decisions where hard to make for me, the game definitly delivers on that
10/10 would wear the Mask of the Plague doctor again
Perfectly Written
第一本自己挑选的英文小说,要是有小段复制功能就好了,照顾一下俺贫瘠的词汇量吧,不会的单词手打查起来可是真滴要命XD,浏览器挂着音乐和翻译器慢慢手打玩的。 If there is a function that allows you to copy New Words or a short dialogue for translate.it will be friendly to foreigners.
This text-based choose-your own adventure game is well-written, deeply researched, and full of interesting and colorful characters. The pathways and choices are interesting and I never felt cheated or like my choice and its consequences did not make sense. Another reviewer joked that they had bought a fancy gaming PC to play things like Elden Ring and yet were drawn in by this text-based game - I feel the same way!! If you love reading, fantasy, and medieval plague lore (I saw that Vesalius reference, developers ;] ) this is the game for you.
