TLDR: Lobotomy Corporation is an extremely good game, with very good lore, music, and just overall creativity. If you start playing, you will probably ask for more. However, the game reaaaaally didn't age well, so PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD install mods to help you! ... Oh you have time to read? Well then, let's go a bit more in depth. First off, what even is Lob Corp? The official page tells you it's a Monster Manager... And while it is one, that's not all it is. I'd almost see it as more Souls-like than anything. This game WILL make you suffer, whether you want it or not. Compared to many other games, Lob Corp does not help you, it does not make your journey easier. It's always bothering you, in an intended way or not. Now, how do you play exactly? Well, it's pretty simple. The game is divided in Days, and each Day, you will have to extract an Abnormality (or Abno, ), which will get added to your Facility. You will then have to manage this Facility, working on said Abnos to gather energy, up to a certain quota that will increase every Day, while trying not to lose every single employees in the Facility. You know what? It'll be easier if I did the good/bad things of this game. Let's start off with... The Good Things: * The Lore: ohmygod the lore. If you don't wanna play Library of Ruina (the sequel) right now, you will after finishing this game. * The Characters: it, again, doesn't actually change the game, but the character designs are just incredible. * The Abnormalities: again, the lore is incredible, but they are also basically all different, all have different mechanics, and I swear to god at the end of this game you will not see trains the same way (trust me). * The Game Loop: though simple, it's still pretty well executed, but it also brings a problem we'll see later... * The Music: listen to First Trumpet or Second Trumpet, or Circle Rombed Oxygen (or not if you think it'll spoil you). Those musics man... * The Polishing: despite what I'll say later, this game is extremely well polished. The style is well made, there are sounds for basically everything, AND THE MUSICS MAN- But now, we got to get to... The Bad Things (because there are some): * Respect for Player's Time: as you can see, I played 110 hours. And I wouldn't say I'm the worst guy when playing this game, though I could have probably instead played for 140 hours if I restarted again to get the 100%. Just so you know, you will probably have to play this game basically three times to get the 100% and the secret Ending that goes with it. Also, some PARTICULAR days make you have to go very far into it, putting like 30-40 minutes, and then easily kills you and makes you restart those 40 DAMN MINUTES!! * Aging: yeah, this game didn't age really well. And it shows with the next point... * Bugs: there are bugs. Minor ones, like some Abno not doing exactly what it's supposed to do (I'm looking at you, Luminous Bracelet), but also pretty major ones, like the memory leak. Basically, you will have to play on a timer, because more than 1 hour on a single day will probably fill your computer's memory up and even make you crash the game (I once had my game crash three times on the same DAY WTF). There are also visual bugs (animations not triggering, VFX not despawning), and some things simply not well done (e.g. for a specific Abno, you need one of your stats to be lower than a certain amount, however that Abno will sometimes increase this Stat, and because it increases the Stat BEFORE making the check for the "is the Stat lower than X", you can be screwed because of that, yes I just ranted about a very specific thing that will probably not happen to you, I don't care). * Difficulty Curve: though I can't tell you much right now without spoiling, you will feel the immediate increase coming out of nowhere, most of the time between Day 21 and Day 25. However, for the last two problems, there is a solution: MODS!! The memory leak can be fixed using BaseMod I believe (right here: https://www.nexusmods.com/lobotomycorporation/mods/2), which also is the base (heh) for many other mods that fix other minor problems. You should also put mods that make the game easier, and by "make the game easier", I mean: * More Detailed Info, which should honestly already be in the game (https://www.nexusmods.com/lobotomycorporation/mods/47) * Free Change Appearance (https://www.nexusmods.com/lobotomycorporation/mods/39) * Any other that seem balanced, because though it's cool to want to finish the game without mods, it's even cooler to ACTUALLY FINISH IT. I didn't use any mods, and I HAD to take a 1-2 months break from the game to come back better. That is how hard and frustrating this game is. If you've read all of this well done. If you still won't buy this game, uh, good for you. You won't have to endure the pain. If you did however... Prepare. Oh, and... Welcome to Lobotomy Corporation, Manager.
micromanagement hell. if you actually want to torture yourself then play this game. dont get too attached to your nuggets because youre going to hit your 100th reset very soon once you really get a grip. its fun at times but its actually hellish without a few shenanigans and mods because the moment you look away all your nuggets are DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD, the sephirahs are hot atleast not counting the tiphereths
十分优秀的模拟经营,有十个角色可以攻略,角色立绘精美,人物形象丰富饱满,还有私人秘书贴身服务,在老爷公司里和Sephirah们共度50天的美妙时光,你值得拥有
Never has a game made me feel as miserable as this one. I felt rage and despair that no other game has made me experience. 228 hours of soul crushing gameplay, of which even with mods was nerve wracking, that nailed into my mind memories i will never ever forget. Yet, i would still do it all over again. This game has a special place in my heart, reserved for it and it alone as one of the most unique and strangely satisfying games i ever came across, being great with its characters and narrative and wonderfully setting up the story of The City and its intricacies. I recommend this to all the masochists who would wilingly and patietly endure all the time consuming monstruous hardships with a sprinkle of bugs here and there, that, in the end, delivers an experience unmatched in all aspects, both good and bad, leaving you appreciating life ever so slightly more.
The difficulty spike is a 90 degree angle, and the game is poorly optimized. Please have the best PC specs you could possibly afford before playing this game, or don't bother. Otherwise, play the game and experience true suffering as your life's work crumbles in front of your eyes, unable to do anything as everything is brought to ruin.
Wonderful game if you hate yourself or are a masochist. Lore and story is great, the art is pretty and grotesque. The overall management part of the game is fun and difficult and sometimes BS but manageable. That is the core identity of the game, everything sucks but its manageable and if it goes downward and everybody dies its usually your fault because you did not manage enough. But the game gives you enough tools to deal with everything so as long as you follow the rules and gimmicks and a little bit of luck everything will be fine hopefully. The game stutters a bit especially at the last few days where a lot of stuff is going on so keep that in mind. But overall I highly recommend this game for the story and experience if you can go through the hurdle of managing the hellish facility.
nothing like a fresh cup of stress and the urge to put a hole through my computer at 7am sharp! what a stress relieving game 😊😊😊😊😊
Everything up until around day 37 is really fun, and you'd think that it would be the majority of the game but then it hits this really hard difficulty spike where Its like balancing a jenga tower on your head. When the days in this game start taking over 40 minutes it becomes a sisyphean task where every little mistake will take you another 40 minutes to get up to. It makes sense (story-wise) for it to be this way, but how much of player experience must be sacrificed for it to feel like this game is impossible? "When the difficulty is this blatantly artificial, it trivialises your achievements." Instead of thinking positively In my opinion, difficulty in games is balanced out by checkpoints, e.g. dark souls bonfires, these games are completely different genres but the example still stands. Boss fights are easy to retry and usually only last around 8 minutes maximum and they still get to keep the feeling that these boss fights are impossible and that you have no chance, even without making these bosses waste your time. Its such a simple issue, all they need to do is detect how much enkephalin you had when you failed the day, and give you like a quarter or a third of it, make this the 'easy' mode and allow players to turn off this setting if they still want the challenge. If you want an extremely challenging and time-consuming game then this is for you. The story is quite good, the characters are interesting enough for you to care about them. But a lot of the time lob corp expects you to understand things without really telling you, and they speak in such a vague way. Although I feel this is on purpose as they expect you to play through the game multiple times, so you'll eventually come back to a piece of dialogue and understand it.
This game is hell bro, I dont remember having fun once but I got always want to keep playing, its an addiction.
