Lukewarm recommend
Living Dead Outbreak has somewhat of an identity crisis. You're going from level to level, to eventually hold off a zombie horde. Do xyz and then don't die for a few minutes. The game isn't terrible, but with the track record from Games From The Abyss, I'm not holding my breath for game updates. No 1440p support (still), visual effects can be toggled (yay). God forbid you want to alt-tab or close the game with F4, the game has an aneurism and you'll need to hard restart your pc. $5.99 isn't a bad price if you like zombies (the slow kind with some cool variations thrown in) and shooting. In this economy not like the $$$ will get you far, but if you offer me a good coffee or this? Heads or Tails?
short but decent
Living Dead Outbreak is a decent short zombie game that I enjoyed playing. A few issues that came to mind though was that when the timer runs out for a door to open for example you just get a cutscene that pops up and you beat the level rather than running towards the exit which would be much better in my opinion. I liked the hordes since in some cases you do need to come up with a strategy on what to do and the option to vault over any railing was nice too. Story was ok and the voice acting wasn't that bad lol levels were short so long as you know what you are doing and I would of beaten the game in under an hour if I didn't struggle on the final level so much since health was so rare. The game does have replayability with survival mode and I would say this game can be fun if you bite-sized zombie games if you catch my drift. haha https://youtu.be/7Ir9zi2Wyl8
Funny voice acting and a competent-if-shallow mechanical loop make this short and cheap game alright. Reminiscent of Night at the Gates of Hell, although I didn't like it quite as much. So why am I giving it a negative recommendation? The sound mixing is AWFUL. Certain weapons, environmental cues, and ambient audio completely ignore your volume settings, which blows out your eardrums if you're like me and play with the volume turned low. If that's okay with you, then sure, get this game. And I'll change it to recommended if they fix the mixing.
A short, low-budget and low-poly survivor horror game. It consists of two kinds of levels: exploration where you carefully walk around mazes, evading zombies and looking for exit, and survival, where you are stuck in a small arena with hordes of zombies coming in from all directions, with no other option than to fend them off for a set amount of time. Exploration levels are great. Survival are atrocious, with very little space to move and extremely limited health and ammo -- the mechanics of a survival horror doesn't mix well with shooter-type gameplay. They would be ok as an optional mode that you could skip, but unfortunately they are mandatory. Dropping it very close to the end -- I don't want to replay that arena again.
Nice lil' snack for the zombie game enjoyers
The look of the game is charming. It's short and not very challenging. Feels like a school project.
ótimo jogo bem divertido, mas a penúltima fase na cabana é muito difícil, fiquei um bom tempo preso
Hated everything about this game and I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone.
Absoluetly fantastic! Worth every dollar and more. Visual style of the game is just right. I really like the whole pixalated old movie look. Voice acting is amateur but really reminds me alot of old Romero movies, comedic aspects never eat away from the game's overall spooky vibes (Shoutout to that doctor in the radio btw) and soundtrack is a vibe. Guns are fun to use and each level is unique. I especially liked the underground cave level where strange looking 3 eyed creature thing (? It looked so weird that i cant even tell what its supposed to be). No guns no melee no nothing. Felt good after the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in church. TV and radio broadcasts really add charm to the game. Game knows when to throw 1000 zombies at you in a house and when to just make you walk around taking in the athmosphere and remind you you gotta go back home and find your wife. Being able to punch zombies, get dropped weapons or double your ammo during survival events might make you think game is all cookies and cream but nope. Its a resource management game at it's core. You need to be careful what zombies you kill, what weapon you use and what melee weapon you got. Or else you'll end up throwing haymakers at a wave of Undead. Because you dont have a health-bar. You got 3 lives. 3 hits and you are done no matter what. U can still regenerate 1 life by picking up medkits. I still have some complaints. -Some weapon sounds are way too quiet or lack ''punch''. -While every other weapon looks fitting the automatic revolver looks too out of place. - I wish zombies groaned and moaned more. Or did that classic holding up arms thingy. - UI looks a little too basic. I expected something much more charming from this game. Like, what if we saw the bullets in the gun's clip/mag/tube like in House of the Dead 3 and everytime gun was shot that bullet flew off it's position too? Overall a fun game if you love zombie games and indie games. When there is no more room in hell dead will have fun playing this game. 8 out of 10.
