An absolutely spellbindingly delightful RPG! A clear successor to the style of the LISA series, but something wholly it's own! A beutiful world which just kept forming and unfolding, so much left unsaid and yet even still endlessly shown, my mind continues to race about the greater scope of this world! All the characters, big, and small felt wonderful, I found very little piece of diologue and absolute treat, it truly captures a small community feel of meeting so many people just going through their own lives! I really enjoyed combat and how debuff focused it was, really making me use all my kit; my only wish is that there was a hard mode to push it even further than what was available, as the late fights felt great but I feind for more of them! Overall I am overjoyed I got the pleasure of playing this, and this world is one I will surely revisit time and time again, both in play and in thought! A true gem of a title which any lover for the strange yet beautiful should enjoy, especially those who care for quality RPGmaker titles!
An overall solid experience. If you enjoy 2D, turn based RPGs, and exploring strange places you'll find this a treat. The combat isn't complicated and with the right preparation you can get through a majority of the fights on your own. The story/world are both unique and interesting in their own ways. Starting from nothing you piece together information from dialogue till your mind slowly starts to form an understanding. Even after beating the game my mind has some questions but I enjoy the universe the game creates. The only main feedback is the overworld can feel a little slow to navigate and you can easily miss out on a lot of interactions, items, and secrets. That includes party members! Originally I beat the game with only one before I had to go back to find the other ones. Due to the game's layout you have to spend mapping everything out but you will get rewarded for it. In the end I got the rest o the party members but there was no more battles to fight them with along missing out on their unique reactions to certain game events. That being said go buy the game. It's a solid 8.5/10
My hours are not quite accurate as I was AFK for some time during playing. Completion time would hover, maybe, around 4h, if you explore everything. Peculiar little game, friendly "cousin" of Lisa: The Painful. Same movement system, similar combat, although far more forgiving. + Cool themes + Interesting lore + Nice visuals + Likeable characters + Some optional areas to achieve "true ending" * Rather easy to miss party members, if you don't know from the store page what they look like, although game seems to be beatable without them * Open-ended, doesn't really give you direction where to go, can be confusing - Short - Easy - Pacing issues - Feels like it lacks polish here and there, lots of typos and game crashed a couple times I might have to advise going for it on a sale if you want a short, casual experience.
bravo Tristan
This game is so great! I loved exploring around and meeting all of the characters, they were just so fun and fighting all of the enemies was cool too. I got both the regular and the "better" ending or I guess true ending? But yea, I am so happy I heard about this game on the r/lisathepainfulrpg subreddit. I love how the game shows a mere glimpse of this mysterious world and leaves you wanting more, so much more. God I would love if this game got even more content, it was that fun to see all of it. I also adore Seph so much and also Valree too. I love how simple the call to adventure is, just getting dog food. Perfect way to introduce the player to the world, it's just a day in Seph's life. Amazing stuff. The writing overall is great, but a minor nitpick I did notice like two types (I forgot where sadly). I was so glad to see that after unlocking the shortcut from the Red Enclave to the marsh, that there was new content added about, was fun to re-explore those areas and see the monster at the docks, it genuinely spooked me. I've seen people talk about the difficulty being too easy, and I would have to agree for the most part. But even though I wish the combats were a bit harder, I would rather have the combat be too easy than too hard. And I can see a lot of thought and effort went into creating the battle system and enemies so I see the vision regardless and it didn't take away from my experience at all. My only real thing I would suggest is adding more walking noises, as every surface sounds the exact same no matter if it's mud or tile. I think it would add a bit of polish to the game and this is just a minor nitpick honestly. So yea, loved this game. It's amazing and I can't wait to see what you will make in the future!
I've only started this game, but I am confident I will like it once I finish it. I will update it with more of my thoughts once I do finish the game. I have finished the game, and I am even more impressed than I was before, this is definitely going down ad one of my favorite rpgmaker games and I really encourage you to check it out and play it. I wish I had played the game when it came out as I had planned to experience it much sooner. It's difficult for me to put what I like about this game into words, but the atmosphere is amazing the backgrounds are very simple and yet they add so much depth to the game and the feeling as you progress through the game. All the characters dialog is somewhat cryptic but it's nice and consistent. There are multiple times in watching the scenes in the game I felt an extremely strong sense of melancholy and bittersweetness, I may not completely understand the story but I didn't need to for me to be moved and enjoy the story as it unfolded. I was also very impressed by having things i the background and foreground of the character that you could face to interact with, this is something I haven't seen in an rpgmaker game in this style.
Wow. What a game. The combat is often a little too easy, but it's more than made up for by the atmosphere and the sheer heart that suffuses every corner of this little world. Playing this and inhabiting the vibrant character of Seph (love them) was a sublime and wondrous experience. 9/10. Thank you, Tristan.
Very neat little game. While I wasn't a fan of the combat the game is very pretty and fun to explore, I found the characters really fun as well. Highly recommend if you want an interesting world to sink yourself into.
After beating the game and getting the true ending, I have to say this was a very enjoyable experience, worth the price. Good music, lovely areas to explore, and a fun cast of characters. My only nitpicks are that some parts are a bit empty with not much to do or see, making revisiting them a bit boring. And also the 4th party member SUUUUUCKS to get. Had to look at a steam guide for a hint. Other than those, get it. It's fun.
i find it hard to describe what my favorite part of little one is because i loved every part so much. the characters are all great, the world (and story) is super interesting, the music & art is so nice, and the only "weak" part is the combat. loved the amount of interactivity, whenever i wanted to check something out, i could. it's really inspiring to see someone start out from making LISA fangames (90% sure he did) to making a full-on game that can stand on its own two feet whilst still showing it's influence
