“I’m the Batter. I’ve been entrusted with a sacred mission.” -- One of the most influential RPGs of the last 20 years is finally coming to Steam. Take control of the Batter as he seeks to purify an uncanny and hopeless world haunted by specters, guided by a cryptic, grinning cat called The Judge.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.57/day in the week to Aug 15 → 4.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
I must say, this is really quite strange. You are the first living being I have ever met in this place. Nevertheless, I will introduce myself. I am the Judge.

He seeks to purify the world. You, then, the controller, the soul that he harbors, must aid him in this laudable task. Alongside my sportive companion you will find it necessary to solve puzzles, rain blows upon certain hostile individuals of our wild zones, and oversee the headways and logistics of a network of swan boats and interurban locomotives.
Open your wings and fly toward the zones ahead without hesitation! All of them are filled with strange and enchanting beings as well as every modern convenience. All of them appear, it must be said, to require the beneficient application of our friend the Batter’s muscular wrist. Do not worry, my dear phantasm—I, the Judge, will be with you (in spirit and body) at all the most crucial moments of your quest.

How dare you talk to me? Why have you decided to be such a pain in my ass? The Queen chose me to protect Zone 1, and I've dedicated my whole life to it.
Listen. Get out of here, and take those ghosts with you, or I am going to kill you. I hope that's clear enough.

The only thing it isn't better than is Earthbound and Halo 3. If you aren't beating OFF, then what are you doing?!?!

In a land where fake indie game enjoyers run rampant, there exists a game that separates the fakers from the true connoisseur. OFF is a MUST play for any true indie rpg maker fans as it inspired so many other amazing indie projects. OFF walked so others could run.
Before Undertale and Deltarune and LISA and the likes and works, there was OFF Genuinely play this game if you can stomach RPGs. It is awesome
This was my first experience with OFF, since I never got a chance to play the original. I have to say the story is kinda unsettling. At first it seems simple. You join the Batter on his sacred mission to "purify" the world from spectres, and other corrupted beings. It's all fun and games until the ending hits you, leaving you wondering if you were doing the right thing all along. There are a lot of interesting characters, even if most of them don't get much screen time which can make things a lil confusing. Honestly it was one of the reasons I kept playing. I wanted to understand what was really going on. But that is what made OFF so unique to me, the fact it doesn't explain every mystery. Instead, it lets you come up with your own interpretation, and that makes it very memorable for me. So, for me, the story is easily the best part of the game, while the gameplay is kinda basic. I don't mean that in the worst way possible, though. Combat is simple, quick and easy to learn compared to modern RPGs. The only slightly tougher fights I can think OFf (haha see what I did there) would definitely be some of the Zodiac bosses which are secret bosses (only found in purified zones) so you will have to explore to find them and in some cases even collect certain items. Those fights felt more engaging and you had to actually think about what abilities, items to use instead of just attacking over and over again. The soundtrack is good and fits the game's atmosphere. I've seen a lot of people say the OST is even better, so I will definitely have to give it a listen. Since I never played the original, there is a lot of things I can't compare, but I can say that this remake was still fun. I also loved the hand drawn sketch like art style mixed with the pixel art that has both monochrome and vibrant colors (such as backgrounds) to it. It's unique and it matched the game's strange world very well. After finishing it, I can say I finally understand why so many people cherish OFF. Not because it's a perfect game, no, but because this type of story stays in your head even after you've completed it. Solid 8/10 from me. The switch is now OFF.
this game should be played by: fans of the original fans of undertale and deltarune (this game inspired both) fans of oneshot (this game inspired nightmargin) fans of omori fans of surreal rpgs and surreal things in general fans of good games optimists nihlists fans of good music (ft. toby fox, nightmargin and camelia) fans of good stories all of my friends all of my enemies all of the people I know all of the people I don't know blind people deaf people bored people busy people rich people poor people (the original is free if you can find the english translation) and anyone else I haven't mentioned yet. play the game. It's one of the best rpgs of all time.
Certainly a hell of a game. I bounced off of it a few times initially due to the unfortunate nature of terrible, awful RPGMaker 2003 combat (which is my one real critique of the game), but it was well worth powering through. What a fantastic piece of art. The story is surreal, disturbing, and all-around weird in an utterly delightful way. This game is best experienced ABSOLUTELY blind. Avoid as many spoilers as you can if you want to get the full experience. Outside of the simplistic environments and world sprites, the character art is fantastic and grotesque, which perfectly fits how fantastic and grotesque the characters themselves are. The music is... alright. Not much I want to say about it beside that. It's just... alright. OFF 2008 has a legendary soundtrack and Pepper Steak is probably one of the best battle themes of all time, so it was going to be hard to match that anyway, so OFF 2025's soundtrack deliberately took its own direction. While your opinion on that is ultimately subjective, I don't think it's bad (and some of the new tracks are great, like
JUSTUS, one of the secret bosses
coming the closest to ACC's style). It's also deeply fascinating to experience for the fact that it's a pretty integral part of indie history by now. You can definitely see where games like Undertale or OneShot drew inspiration from in their stories, writing, and style of commentary. OFF is not for everyone, definitely, but for those who it is for, there's almost nothing like it.
can we PLEASE get the original sound track as DLC or something, I really wanna listen to the older ost since that's what made OFF so surreal and enjoyable when I first played it
after playing this great game I can proudly say that I still find baseball extremely boring
